CM Punk Promo 6/27/2011

If CM Punk's promo was mostly real, then it changes from an excellent round of trash talk to a big, unseemly man tantrum. Can't say I support that sort of public whining.

It wasnt real, Punk was allowed to say everything he said by WWE Creative.

We all already knew his contract was up on the 17th, and we already knew weeks, if not months ago, that he wasnt going to sign a new contract. Not to mention:

As of the next Raw, pretaped, Cena convinces Vince to bring Punk back and let him have the title match.

Thus, it is all a work, his comments may have been based in reality, since we all know that he has had several problems with creative and management over the years.

However the entire thing was a worked shoot meant to get the goat of the Internet Fanbase...and it worked, it only worked however, because Punk is freaking AWESOME.

Personally I feel insulted by this, because I know how it's going to end.
In between Formerly Creative podcast (google it), stories told on several message boards, and a number of decisions going back to last year's Nexus angle, I don't think so. Vince had adapted the exact same attitude many high-up people in entertainment have: they may not know the internet but they think everyone who groups together on it is a pathetic loser who deserves nothing but scorn. Except Vince is worse, because CM Punk's promo shows that he KNOWS about the legitimate concerns we have, and instead of actually addressing them, he's decided to use them to attack us. To self-justify his choices. How? I look to the people who claim that this promo will make them watch the shows, buy the next PPV, and so on. I could be wrong, but I doubt the PPV will deviate from this ending: CM Punk will be broken upon the rock of Cena, and Cena will stand tall holding his belt. And Vince will laugh at all of us, the so called brilliant, true fans, manipulated into giving him money like all the other drooling, pathetic marks he considers his audience. It will just demonstrate to him that we're nothing, a joke, to be safely ignored while he does what he wants to do. And that pisses me off, he's willing to waste such potential for the sole purpose of slapping people who want to support the product but feels it needs a lot of work, right in the face.

Was there liiiive! And hell yeah, damn good segment right there, ruined by Cena's appearance and his 3rd grader jokes but nonetheless. Loudest cheer of the night was for the Ice Cream Bars!

Absolutely! Was something else though because my cousin, the person I went with, was the usual casual WWE fan. He liked CM Punk's promo but started cheering when Cena came out. Made no sense I was like "Thought you wanted Vince to sign that contract there why are you cheering for Cena who's stopping it." His response was "I dunno, It's Cena, who cares what he's doing!"

Somehow everything Tai could have ever dreamed has come true. At least tonight.

CM Punk is now the WWE Champion. Also his contract ostensibly ends tonight.
