Simple question, what are your top ten favorite Game Series and favorite game within said series? If you cant do 10, 5 will suffice lol. 10 lowest, 1 highest. NOTE: A series consists of at least 3 games, spin offs however, are included as part of a series. Should a series have 2D games AND 3D games, you may state your favorite 2D Game and 3D Game in the series if need be.

Actually turns out to be quite a few series, first a mention to some that do not make it into my top 10 list

Legends of Zelda - Misses out simply because I although I played part of several of the games, I have only played Ocarina of Time more thoroughly (and I mean thoroughly!) all the others I only played for less then an hour each... And I'm not including series of which I only played one of their titles. Zelda would have been up there in top 5 though probably

Assassin's Creed - no good reason why this isn't on the list actually, just couldn't fit it in...

Mario bros - I guess if I wanted to go really old school...

9. Dark Forces/Jedi Knights (the name merged)
Favourite: Jedi knight Dark Forces 2 (I was in a clan for it, so have to go with this one rather than the newer versions)
Worst: Dark Forces (no jedi powers >.< )


8. Wrestle Angels
Favourite: Wrestle angel 2, Wrestle angel 3 (these are the originals I'm referring to, never got the ones on PS2)
Worst: Super Wrestle angels (all the artwork made the girls look fugly and for no good reason... seems in the other Snes wrestle angel title, the pics looked great)


7. Touhou
Favourite: Imperishable night, Embodiment of the Scarlett devil
Worst: Phantasmagoria of Flower View (When considering only the main projects)


6. Guitar Hero
Favourite: Guitar Hero 2 (this was just before the songs started becoming ridiculous)
Worst: Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s


5. The Way
Favourite: "Episode 4: Words to a lonely song", "Episode 5: Everyone must bleed"
Worst: "Episode 1: The Land Beneath the sky", "Episode 3: A lost love carried on"


4. Elder Scrolls
Favourite: Oblivion (got 90 hours on it now)
Worst: Morrowind (I guess, seems I haven't played Daggerfall)


3. Metal Gear
Favourite: Metal Gear Snake Eater

2. Prince of Persia
Favourite & worst: Prince of Persia sand of time (perfect when I first played it, the second time I played it awful... So many repetitive fights I didn't notice so much the first time around


1. Final Fantasy - The gawd awful titles lately almost made me rank this as second, but I remember the good old days... the good only just outweighs the bad to make this number 1
Favourite: FF Tactics, FF6 & FF9
Worst for me: FF11 & FF13 (FFX-2 and FF Crystal Chronicals ain't even FF games in my book!)

All right, I don't know if I necessarily have a top 5/10, so let's just see where my typing takes me...also keep in mind I've been a nintendo boy through-and-through, with a side trip to PS2 (but c'mon, who didn't/doesn't have one?)



9. Zelda (sadly haven't had much experience playing the series, the only game I actually owned from the series, Link's Awakening, went missing before I could make it past the second cave)
Favorite: Link's Awakening (sadly qualified in a bad way...although if I decide to get a 3DS..must not cave...4 swords or Ocarina of Time might make the list)

8. SvR/Smackdown
Favorite: Either SvR or SvR 2006, mainly cause I haven't played anything past '06 and it fed my interest in female wrestling with the gimmick matches...but aside from that, nothing really made it over-the-top
Least: Technically I know it doesn't count, but WWF Attitude cause it's the earliest WWE/WWF game I own.

7. DBZ Budokai
Favorite: I'd honestly have to say Budokai 2, but that's probably because I haven't really played anything past 3 too much, but then again I have enjoyed 3 and some of the tenkaichi series
Least Favorite: I really don't have one

6. Donkey Kong
Why and Favorite: Ahh...Childhood....me, a SNES and Donkey Kong Country before heading off to school in the morning...I purchased it last year for my virtual console and it reminded me of how much I loved DK Country, but how much it fails in comparison to DK 64, which I haven't ever owned or played for extended periods of time.
Least: N/A?

5. Tekken
Favorite: Tekken Tag, by far my favorite and first owned copy of the series..Not to mention my true introduction to the fighter-style genre (aside from Street Fighter and such that I would play in the arcades). Although Tekken 4 is a close second
Least: N/A

4. Super Smash
Favorite: Ahh...Super Smash Bros. Brawl, how I love and loathe you...the loathing is only because I can never seem to win against 2 of my roommates...the loving is because you mix together all of what makes Nintendo, Nintendo
Least: Definitely N/A

3. Soul Calibur
Favorite: SC3 hands-down, although I don't own a XBox360 or PS3, so it may just be sour grapes that keeps me from putting SC4 on here
Least: 4, until I can actually get my hands on it!!!

2. Mario (of which there are like 20 spin-off series)
Why: What self-respecting Nintendo-raised child would not put Mario on this list (unless they have joined the soul-owning company that is Sony or the quality company that is Microsoft, cause let's face it, XBox and it's better brother have some pretty good games)...
Favorite: Super Mario Bros. World is by far my favorite...still can't seem to beat Bowser in it....I've been told I need to pick up Galaxy though, which I intend to do.
Least: Any of the sports spin-offs..and Kart does not count as a sports spin-off

1. Pokemon
Why: Well it's the only series I can rightfully say that I own at least one game from each generation of the main series, and it may be the only thing that pushes me to get a 3DS when the inevitable 3DS title comes out for it...it did that for the DS with me (no regrets!!). There is just something about the tried-and-true formula of the game style that makes me love it. The manga series (Pokemon Special) isn't half-bad either, although I've only finished the Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow portion.
Favorite: Tough call here...I really have liked what they've done with Black and White, but HG and SS were such good remakes of my original favorites: Silver and Gold...so I'm gonna put a 4/6-way tie up there.
Least: As tough as it was to decide on a favorite, I was not a huge fan of Sapphire/Ruby, nor do I appreciate any of the mini-series/puzzle games.

Honorable Mention: Starcraft 2, although I haven't really gotten into playing the campaign too much, nor have I played any online PvP (not Protoss vs Protoss) battles...I can only imagine how awful I'll be doing in the upcoming tournament my friends talked me into joining o.o'
