Toshimi Minami vs. Migiri Oozara - Childs Play

A perplexing sight was taking place backstage. And that's certainly saying something substantial considering the bevy of oddities lurking around each and every corner of this fine "upstanding" establishment. Backstage workers turning their heads with the ones walking nearly tripping over the floor wires from the sight of one sole wrestler calmly striding towards the gorilla position with an imposing, commanding aura that seemed fitting for the titanic powerhouses of the league. And as a result, betrayed her "actual", size. The imposing shadow stretched out behind her leading to the farcical origin of a diminutive and average sized wrestler. Someone whose reputation preceded her and left it's impact well after her departure, and was perhaps one of the bigger wrestling talent acquisitions that the new G.M. had managed to miraculously make happen. A wrestler who was as instrumental in Wrestle Angels phenomenal success as the Mighty Yukiko herself, but with a significantly more restrained and ice-cool demeanor. An icon of the modern wrestling industry, renowned wrestling journalists had dubbed her...but for this night, and as she preferred it...she was actually starting fresh and brand new with a win/loss ratio draped in zero's.

Toshimi Minami:

Toshimi Minami's highlighted name alone being more than enough to consider tonight's main event being worth paying tickets and switching channels for. To say nothing of the terrifying name residing next to her own on the fight card. Someone she knew FAR better than to underestimate. All of those titles and nicknames that fans had bestowed unto her were not going to help her against this woman...but for now Toshimi cleared her mind of what was to come. Steadying her breathing and limbering up with wiggling shimmies of her arms and legs, her theme music echoing it's techno, somber melodies and bringing a rise out of the arena's attending fan's who, for once, were appreciative to hear elements of dubstep in their music. It had been some time since Toshimi was in this exact situation. Wrestle Angels never seeming like such a long time ago until now...but with her eyelids opening and revealing the resolute determination behind them, the Venus Of Submissions re-entered a world she inwardly longed to return to with a dramatic push back of the black curtains to a thunderous pop. One that actually gave her goosebumps and brought a chill up her spine, briefly making her balk at the overwhelming sight of a jam-packed arena...all cheering for her.

*...Huh...I suppose absence really does make the heart grow fonder.*

An appropriate thought to have as thousands heralded her arrival with flashing cameras capturing the submission technician gazing around the arena. Considering she was frequently matched up against the more beloved fan-favorite's of Wrestle Angels, there always seemed to be more people rooting against her than for. She was always considered the gatekeeper of the league, a brutal challenge in the ring that if you somehow managed to overcome...meant you had arrived, and were officially one of wrestling's elite. She was never the fan-favorite. But...uh, not tonight apparently. The stone-cold stalwart taking her first striding steps down the ramp with some of the more theatrical fans by the barricade bowing with their arms outstretched in mock worship. Her purple leotard hugging her taut figure tightly and was about as trademark as her titles themselves. Under she went, rolling under the bottom ropes as the announcer finished his well-enunciated introductions. She popped back to her feet and took a few seconds to walk in a small circle to reminisce about how often she used to be in this situation. It was a view she nostalgically day dreamed of back in her law office...but she womaned up and took a deep breath, flicking one of her bangs out of her line of sight and turned to face the ramp. Slouched over with hands propped on her knees in anticipation for who was to come...

Migiri Oozara was the happiest girl in the world.

It had been so long, too long, since she’d gotten to have playtime. Over a year. She and Bomber Kishima had the most lovely time together, having hugs and playing tag and dressing up, but since then, it was like the AFW forgot all about her! Whenever she asked for a match, the matchmakers would just be mean to her. They would make up things and say that the wrestlers were afraid of her and that they were worried about her injuring them.

They would always say they were looking for the right playmate for her funtime, and that they wanted her to take on someone her own size, but they could never find anyone who would agree They would tell her to wait. And wait. And wait and wait and wait and wait.

Migiri didn’t like waiting.

So she told them that it was okay - if they couldn’t find her a playmate, well, she’d just have to go out and find one herself! That got them moving, and sure enough, they found someone for her to make a debut with. And, oh boy, did they pick a good one…

Migiri was so excited for this that she almost came bursting out of from the back before her entrance music could start, emerging just in time for the spotlight to show down on her. Brighteyes, all smiles, and Ringo-tan in hands, she waved to the fans, knowing they would be so happy to see her having fun again!

Spoiler:

...only, they weren’t. Half of the people just looked at her funny, and the other half actually started booing, even though she hadn’t done anything wrong. Migiri pouted and sniffed as she looked from side to side, her golden locks bouncing with each turn. Why were they all being so mean?

”Don’t let them get you down, Mi-tan!” Ringo-tan said, trying to cheer her up. ”They’re just a bunch of old fuddy-duddies. Go! Have fun! It’s your playtime!”

Migiri’s smile came back at that - he was right, after all. She’d wanted to get back into the ring for so long, and she’d been looking forward to play with Toshi-chan for ages, and no one was going to stop her and her soon-to-be bestest friend from having a good time. No one.

Skipping down to the ring, she slid under the ropes and popped to her feet, making the ring shake with her jubilant movements. After taking a moment to set Ringo-tan on a ringpost to give him the best seat in the house, she turned to Toshimi with a gleaming smile and started to walk her way.

”Toshi-chan!” She extended her arms as she approached, looking for a big hug as she came in to start this off on a happy note.  ”This is super great, I’ve been wanting to play with you forever and ever!” She giggled as her cheeks lit up with a rosy hue. ”We’re gonna have a real fun time!”

Training coaches had fervently insisted to Toshimi during scheduled exercise sessions that, given her extended hiatus from in-ring competition, she should book her first match to be against someone lower on the totem-pole until she gets her wrestling legs back. Even AFW executives had anticipated such an action as they presented a list of several talented rookies for her to grapple with who'd love the opportunity to mix it up with her, at least until Toshimi gets her wrestling sixth sense back in working order once more. It was simply the preferred method of re-acclimating yourself to the sport for heralded veterans of all caliber...hence why all the executives and trainers balked when she flatly refused all of their suggestions and tersely insisted that she be tossed into the deep end, not the kiddie pool. Toshi had stuck to her training regiment religiously since W.A. first went belly-up. Never relenting in drilling herself due to an internal competitive drive that kept her physically fit...and perhaps prideful to a fault. If she were going to reclaim her spot amongst the top tier of today's wrestling generation, she needed to forge her dulled over blade against flame and hammer once again. To challenge herself and-

"Do you, uh...Do you have your affairs in order?"

Toshimi perked her eyes open, immediately dropping her transfixed intensity thanks to the referee's asinine question. Obviously meant to intimidate her at worst, or going for an ill-timed joke at best. "...'Ha Ha'...Aren't you the Queen of Comedy..." The submissionist scoffed back with an agitated inflection.

"...I wasn't joking."

The terrified official steadily strolling as far away from Toshimi as possible as the haunting melodies of Migiri's threatening theme started echoing about, prompting Toshi to re-establish her hunched over stance with an in-vain attempt to enter the wrestling zone once more. Breathing steadily with her pert backside jutting out and a...dawning remembrance for how tall Migiri was. The widening of her iris' and subtle gulp in her throat establishing that epiphany as the toddle tyrant giddily situated her teddy bear in her corner and began approaching Toshimi with beaming sunshine on her face and hugging intentions from the look of her wide-open arms. Toshi stood back up with a cocked eyebrow and hesitant backpedaling step before barely ducking out of Migiri's massive arms and popping up a few steps behind the child-like giantess. "And I remember you too Migiri...I've visited many of your friends in the infirmary after having matches with you..." Toshimi coldly retorted, adopting a grappling stance with honed intensiveness in her eyes.

Migiri really was ever-so happy to see Toshimi, even though they’d never really gotten to know each other. She’d seen some of the Venus’ matches, and she hated how serious the poor girl was all the time. She never smiled. She never laughed. Always grumpy and sad, like Eeyore, only Japanese and a woman and not a donkey. She was a grumpy-grump, and Migiri knew just how to deal with grumpy-grumps: a big, warm hug!

But Toshimi wouldn’t let her have it, ducking away just in the nick of time to avoid Migiri’s open arm. She stumbled forward and skipped along, wrapping her arms around nothing but air and smacking against the ropes. She looked silly, but Migiri got a little mad, too, and spun around with a pout and a glare, stomping her feet hard enough to make the ring shake. All she wanted to do was get a hug! Why did Toshi-chan have to be so mean?

But then she smiled, broad and bright, and snapped her finger as it dawned on her. It wasn’t that Toshimi didn’t want a hug. Nope, not at all.

”Toshi-chan!” She stuck her tongue out and wagged a finger at her new bestest friend. ”We’re not playing Tag yet! You gotta be patient.”

She strolled forward, humming to herself and smiling just a little bit wider when she mentioned her other playmates. ”Yeeeeeeeeeah. Not everybody’s good at playing games. But not like you and me! We’ll have all sorts of fun playing all sorts of games.” Her eyes went to the sky for a moment as she bobbed from side to side, ticking off her favorites. ”Like pattycake and horsie and hopscotch. And maybe my favorite game of all, and I know you’ll like it to…”

She lurched forward with a sudden jerked and raised her arms as she hunched over, looming over Toshimi with wiggling fingers. Her smile was still there, but it had taken on a sinister curve, and her eyes narrowed, shrinking around her gleaming red orbs.

”...mercy.”

All of a sudden, Migiri leaped forward, wanting to get all up close and personal with Toshimi for a lockup!

...that last part was somewhat of a half-truth. While Toshimi had indeed frequented the W.A. infirmary to offer well-wishes and awkward bedside conversations with Migiri's former "playmates", it was entirely at the behest of her frenemy Mighty Yukiko who insisted she tag-along with her simply because it was 'the right thing to do'. Toshi only begrudgingly capitulating under punishment of having to hear Yukiko drone on and on about all the good work her charities and philanthropic efforts are doing like the goody-two shoes role model she always was. Although it did allow Toshimi the opportunity to see firsthand what the repercussions were to underestimating Migiri and why she is perpetually looking for new playmates after most all of them leave their matches battered and broken. The least fortunate being those who Migiri adores enough to carry back to her mysterious "funhouse", where cameras were not allowed and playdates leave that room in a traumatized, disheveled stupor. None of them ever divulging what transpired in there to this day...

*Hmm...perhaps I should have taken an easier opponent...* Toshimi pondered now that she was standing head to head with the towering toddler radiating precocious joyfulness, incapable of being face to face with her due to the substantial height difference. It was only through some last second nimble footwork that she wasn't being currently coddle-crushed right about now, the Venus breathing a sigh of relief from how badly that could have ended up for her. Toshimi narrowed her eyes and furrowed her brow while inwardly repeating the game-plan she went into this match with, allowing Migiri to speak her peace...as juvenile as it was. But no sooner did she slacken up her grappling stance to relax from all the playful banter did she spot the red-eyed maliciousness in Migiri's eyes and balk from being immediately pounced upon to the annoyingly well-timed ringing of the bell. Wrestling instinct compelled Toshimi to lock horns with the giantess and intertwine their arms, a stiffened rigidity to Toshi's extended back leg as her lean frame straightened and tensed up. Gritting her teeth from putting every ounce of strength she had into ushering Migiri backward and expecting at least SOME? progress. "Not here...to play games, dammit..."

Toshi-Chan wanted to play!

Migiri always liked to hold hands when a match started, but it seemed like the more she did it, the less people wanted to do it with her. She never understood why - she always smelled good and washed her hands and everything, but when the bell rang and she stepped forward with her hands out, they usually just ran away or kicked her or kicked her and ran away, being so mean about it. She’d thought Minami-Chan would do the same thing, but no! When she came in, Minami stayed right where she was and the two of them locked up!

Toshi-Chan was nice, but she wasn’t that strong, and Migiri felt kind of bad for her. She could’ve just pushed her all the way into the corner, and she almost did at first...but then she had a great idea. Instead of going forward, she took steps back, as if the smaller woman was doing an amazing thing and forcing her across the ring. The crowd looked on, shaking their heads, not knowing what to think. How strong was Minami, again? Where was she getting so much power?! Migiri even pouted and grunted, making it look like she was having a super-hard time and really struggling.

But she was just playing make-believe. As they got close to the corner, she giggled and pressed her forehead against Minami-Chan’s head. ”Hey, Toshi-Chaaaaaaaaaaaaan.” She whispered, low and quiet, as her pigtails danced about her face. ”Wanna see if you can fly?”

And with that, Migiri suddenly spun around, pulled Toshi-Chan around in a full circle, and tossed her towards the other side of the ring with a big Beil Throw, trying to see just how high and far she could make her go!

Call it delusional tenacity...a stubborn unwillingness to never back down against overwhelming odds...or an instinctual urge to regain her grappling clout in the wrestling world after having long since abandoned the wrestling ring for a lawyer's office. But when faced with the decision of perhaps attempting another nimble escape or facing off with the babying behemoth head on, Toshimi had shrewdly chose the ill-advised latter. Having less time to dodge Migiri's ominous advances than last time had played into her thought processes, but a part of her inwardly postulated that perhaps Migiri's gossiped strength was merely that. Tall tales embellished by those acting as one contributing cog in a perpetual rumor mill that became increasingly exaggerated every time it was passed onward through social gatherings in locker rooms. And perhaps just like a child's nightmare's, the best thing you can do is stand up to and face the boogeyman haunting your dreams. To in the end come to the realization that there was never anything to be afraid of in the first place...

...and at first Toshi was finding this theory to be credible. The focused submissionist defying all expectations by seemingly ushering the toddler tyrant backward, step by determined step. Toshimi's straining leg muscles tightening from the exertion, as did her flexing biceps aid her in accomplishing the impossible task of overpowering Migiri to a stun-shocked reaction from an audience who were left just as baffled as the referee. Somewhat surprised herself that she was actually succeeding, Toshi scrunched up her face with eyes sewn shut and jaw clenched from the sheer effort being put into this miraculous moment...that is until she looked straight ahead and noticed something beyond terrifying. Migiri's smiling face, mushed up against her own wide-eyed visage practically frozen from the frightening realization that Migiri had just been toying with her this whole time. Warm wisps of air carrying the toddler's chipper question..to which Toshi gulped, already knowing the answer.

"...if I said "No", would you still-" The tactician gasped sharply in the split second before she found herself instantly airborne. A solid second of weightlessness in a Biel throw that had her clearing the rest of the ring to a back-splashing washout. Toshimi springing up to her knees with her mouth agape in breathless agony before slumping against the middle turnbuckle, frantically clawing at the top ropes above to yank herself back to her feet with gobsmacked audience speechless from how much distance and airtime she got!!

Toshi-Chan didn’t just fly, she flew super far! Migiri helped her get reeeeeeeeeally high, flying over the ring, and everyone was amazed to see her go - except the referee who was far too busy leaping out of the way to really appreciate it. But she was so light and Migiri was so strong, it was like tossing a beachball, and for a moment she almost though Toshi-Chan would go flying into the audience!

But, no, she came down on the other side of the ring. Oh, well. Migiri would just have to try again. Maybe later.

”Yay, yay!” Migiri jumped up and down as she bounced after Minami, skipping across the ring, making the ropes bounce with every hop she took. ”You flew super high, Toshi-Chan! You’re so small and light and cute, I could do that all day long!” She giggled, cheery and bright, as her shadow came over the rising Minami.

In fact, Migiri had so much fun tossing her new Super Bestest Friend, she thought Minami deserved something special. She didn’t have any gifts to give her, but she did have to big arms! And what are two big arms good for?

”Hug Time!” She brought her arms around Minami’s chest from behind, pulled her close and tight, lifted her up and starting swinging her around the ring, dancing and spinning and having a fun time! Of course, she made sure to squeeze EXTRA HARD as she did, so Minami would accidentally go flying off again. The last thing she wanted was for her friend to get hurt, after all!

*MistakesweremadeMistakesweremadeOhGodweremistakesmade!!!*...Toshimi internally reiterating the, by now, blatantly obvious. Especially given how much hangtime she was currently garnering whilst whizzing through the air to a stun-shocked breath inhalation from those in the audience following her flailing flight path along with stark-wide eyes. As to what those mistakes were...well, Toshimi supposed she had time to think on them now considering she was still soaring through the stratosphere. Perhaps her most recent mental fumble was actually entertaining the idea their was any other outcome besides this one after deciding to engage in a test of strength with Migiri Oozara. Typical delusions of self-grandeur. As for her second mistak-...oh, no never mind. Here come the ring canvas. She'll have to ruminate on this further later on. Perhaps when she's in the infirmary.

*BOOM*

Toshimi repelled up to her knees with sheer agony written all across her face and sheer desperation interpreted from her arms shooting forward to clamp onto something...anything. Anything that resembled a connection to being firmly rooted in terra-firma. The submissionist scooting forward on her knees until managing to clamp onto and rest against the turnbuckle, flinching from the stinging shockwaves felt all throughout her back and ass. Unaware of the toddler titan encroaching upon her until her ringletted shadow came into Toshi's frazzled purview, dilated terror in her eyes from being captured from behind in a tight bearhug that had her arms pinned to her sides. And in one-high-pitched yelp had the tactician hauled backward into a demented dance of swaying, childlike twirls. Mortifying for Toshimi, so assuredly delightful for Migiri, the squeezed submissionst grew dizzier with every spin...but did manage to wheeze out something very, very important. "I...can't...breathe..."

Toshimi Minami made a great teddy bear!

It took Migiri by surprise, too. Toshi-tan always seemed so mean and grumpy, she would’ve thought she’d be all lumpy when she squeezed her, like she was just a bunch of crabs on the inside. But nope! She squished real good between her arms, nice and comfy, and she even made lots of funny sounds as Migiri swung her around. And she wasn’t all that heavy, so Migiri could just dance and dance and dance and never get tired. She giggled, she laughed, she spun around on her heels, just having the time of her life.

But all good things had to come to an end, and Migiri couldn’t squeeze Toshi-tan like this forever...well, maybe she could, but it was starting to get kind of boring, and there were other games they could play.

”Phew, that was a lot of fun! You swing reeeeeeeeeeeeal good, Toshi-tan!” Migiri eased up on the hug and turned it into a snuggle with Toshimi, rubbing their noses together in the cutest way. ”But there’s a new game I want to try out, okay? I think you’re gonna love it. Promise.”

Step one was letting Toshimi go and having her stand up. Just in case she couldn’t stay straight up, Migiri draped her arms over the ropes and let her hang there. Safety first.

Then she stepped back.

Then she brought a finger to her lips and shushed the audience - she wanted them to be super quiet for this. ”Ssssssh!”

With a smile that stretched from ear to ear Migiri raised her hands up and threw them both down at once, going for a double slap on Toshimi’s chest - her new signature move, Patty Cake!
