Baylee vs Gina Miles

Gina's previous kick had surprised Baylee a bit, but it had showed that Gina could take quick reactions when prompted to do so. For Baylee, what this meant was that she would have to take preemptive measures to slow down Gina's reactions. Taking advantage of her cornered position, Baylee would attempt to slip her arms behind Gina's back, trapping her in a bearhug that would not be too strong but just to work her out for the time being.

Gina wouldn't realize that Baylee had wrapped her arms about her until she felt the squeeze of her bearhug. It could have been tighter, but it made Gina panic, squirming against Baylee. "Ahh! L..Let go!" To her, she figured that Baylee was probably upset with her about that sudden kick.

Gina would begin to thrash a bit, yet trapped in the corner in a bearhug, all she was doing was wasting her own energy. That is, until she remembered how close to the ropes they were, and stuck her leg out to get the hold broken. Yet, with the way she got her leg on the ropes, she was going to fall flat on her face once Baylee let go of her.

Baylee felt the ref girl tapping at her shoulder to get her attention. Looking at Gina's foot, she merely let her go without discussion; she was no rule breaker. Baylee backed and intended to continue with her strategy, but was surprised to see that Gina had fallen forward instead of standing on her feet. What could have happened? Her hold wasn't that tight. Or was it? "Oi, are you all right?" She looked at Gina a bit aprehensively. If her opponent had fallen on the middle of a heated match, she wouldn't miss the chance, but it was too early for that.

"S...Sorry. I'm fine..." The hold hadn't really been that hard. But this being her first match, she didn't exactly like being in any kind of hold. It hurt more than she cared to repeat. Quickly gathering herself up, she'd get back to her feet.

Locking up again would be a bad idea. She probably shouldn't have locked up in the first place. But now she knew. Without wanting to wait to see if Baylee would come at her, she'd rush out of the corner at her. When she got close enough, she'd jump off the mat, bringing both her feet up and kicking outwards, hoping to strike Baylee hard in her upper body with the dropkick. Of course, if she missed, be quite vulnerable once she landed on the mat.

Baylee would have felt relieved at Gina's words if she just hadn't seen the diminute fighter bolting towards her. Watching both legs stretch out at her, she barely had time to evade the attack, given the high velocity Gina had achieved. Nevertheless, she did it clumsily, and as a result she was hit hard on her left shoulder, avoiding the full blow but still going to the mat thanks to the impact. Both of pain and surprise, she'd stay stunned for a while, but Gina would have to act quickly if she wanted to do another attack.

Gina, being inexperienced as she was, quickly rolled away and got to her feet after falling to the mat from the dropkick. She'd back up against the ropes, watching Baylee. She didn't capitalize on the situation. But instead...

"A..Are you ok? I...didn't mean to hit you so hard..."

After all, Baylee had expressed concern for her just moments ago, when she had simply been clumsy. She thought it was only fair to return the favor.

Baylee got on her feet, laying one hand on the little bruise at the shoulder. "I'm fine, thank you." But she quickly got back into her stance. The previous blow was still aching a bit, and she would like to avoid any more of them.
Then, she started approaching Gina again. However, she was doing so more readily than the first time. There was no need for further trial and error; she already knew that Gina outmatched her in terms of speed. She would try to quickly trap Gina into her own corner, cutting the space for movement, still being aware at her reactions.

Gina would smile, glad that Baylee was alright. Watching her get up, she'd start backing away from her, right into her corner. It might make Baylee think it was a bit too easy, getting her into the corner like that. But Gina was trying to stay away from her, while trying to figure out what she could do that wouldn't hurt Baylee. A naive thought, considering they were supposed to wrestle. She still wanted to find a way though, and ended up a bit too deep in thought on what she should do.

Baylee was a bit surprised with Gina's actions. It was difficult for her to wrestle with someone who didn't resist properly. But, they were in a ring, and one of them had to do their part at it. Nevertheless, Baylee would try to avoid strikes: she didn't want to hit Gina's face, and anyway Gina was probably fast enough to dodge a punch. Once she was sure that Gina couldn't escape, Baylee would try to reach a hand behind her neck and slowly drag both of them to the mat, making use of her advantage in strength. Ground combat would be easier, she hoped.

Gina was still faltering for a way to not hurt Baylee when she felt a hand placed on the back of her neck. She squirmed as she was dragged to the mat, pushing back and trying to break free. But she was fighting a losing battle of strength. She seemed to be refusing to strike at Baylee anymore, and was instead just trying to squirm her way out of the hold. But even if she managed to pull free, it would likely be easy enough for Baylee to grab her and drag her back again.
