Waiting for.....

The note hadn't said much, just that Coralline's challenge had been met. The chance for a fight, well that filled her normally apathetic veins with a fire and push, and it was that very same desire that got her into this in the first place. Still, the mystery fighter would surely make an appearance. Or she wouldn't. It was kinda that simple.

Beanie pulled over her head, the gift from her brothers covered her earbuds as she sat on one of the many couches back stage. Once people started to walk by, Coralline looked up somewhat expectantly, hoping that her first opponent would make herself be know. That however, lasted all of three minutes before she rapidly got bored with that.

".........BoooooooooOOOOOOOoooooooored..." She cried, her head flopped over the back of the couch, the rest of her splayed ontop of it. Her dirty chucks were propped up on the table where there was strewn several magazines, most of which were out of date. A hand jammed into her pocket, fishing for a pen, only to discover failure. "aaaaaugh!" Overly dramatic, maybe, but still she stood, clearly looking inconvienced over this and started looking for a pen. "This is taking too loooooong.....Ah, fuck it", she thought as she gave up and found a stick of lipstick in her bookbag. Paper, well that was the easy part....The magazines would suffice!

"Wake.... if..... we're..... supposed... to.. fight" She scrawled over a page, only after defacing the "pretty girl" on it. And with that, she pinned the note to her chest, spread out on a the couch, popped in "In Utero" and promptly fell asleep.

Bckstage had been quiet for a while, that is, until distant sounds of slow, slouched footsteps could be heard sliding across the ground. As the seconds pass, the footsteps only grew louder, until the sight of another brown haired woman peered from behind a wall. From the looks of how empty the placed looked, every other wrestler were either assigned to thier matches in the ring, or chilling out in thier dorms....whatever.

"Fresh skin, too, eh? No lashes, yet, I reckon..."

She'd ask. Her attention not aiming anywhere in particular.

"So what's the deal, then? What type of gig is this? Late for the roundup?"

The prison slang in her sullen, deep voice was so thick that there was a good chance any person without a conviction history wouldn't understand her. She pauses, scratches her head and sniffles.
Not waiting for an answer, she'd take two more steps, each boot dragging obnoxiously loud over the recently mopped floor. After tending to the annoying itch in her nose, she'd finally meet the other woman's gaze.

"Got a name?"

Unfortunately for the young lady, Coralline's sleep was legendary. The sign held true. It required her to be awaken before anything else was decided. It was one of the many reasons that college didn't fit the young lady from Seatle. Something about waking up at the crack of Noon didn't fit her. As "Very Ape" played in the casset player at her waist, Coralline still slumbered while her challenger approached.

"SSnnnnnzzzzzz" was the only thing that the lady found, as Coralline slumbered.

....excellent. The little girl was fast asleep, much to her dismay. Josie quickly panned the room for anyone else who could be within earshot of thier presence. Once the coast was clear, she'll walk to the slumbering kid and take a good look at her.

"Wastin' away in the lodge an' past rising time, are we?"

Whatever Josie had just said, it probably had something to do with the other girl sleeping. Recalling back to her days as young pick-pocket, she'd snoop around Coralline's clothes for any valuables that she might posses. The cassette player was definatly something that could be of value....20 years ago. Maybe she could get away with a few bucks hidden somewhere on her? Even better...maybe that little beanie she was wearing.

As the young lady fliched her pockets, she would find nothing. It was until the lady started to make worm on her hat that Corallline woke up.

"HEY NOW! That's mine!" She cried as her eyes adjusted. She woke up after being asleep for several hours." Snnnf! Who, tha 'ell are you?!?! Are....are we supposed ta fight?" She blinked for a moment. "Didcha resond to what I wrote? Id not, fuck off. I was having the best dream ever....."

Coralline eyed the new person. She was altogether unimpressed, but it took alot to impress her. "In Eutero" was still playing, and she was barely concentrating. ""Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle" was blaring loudly on her earbuds.

Darn. Just as Josie thought she could've made a quick buck, too. Coralline woke up screaming like a baby. That much didn't surprise her, atleast. Now that she was awake, Josie can finally examine the girl in greater detail. She was definatly young alright. Her voice sounded a little annoying though.

"You could have another dream after I put you back to bed, eh, slum?"

Josie fixes her with a cool look. One eyebrow rasied and one hand massaged her scalp.

"You game for a one-on-one?"

"aaaaah....so you were the one who met my challenge....Cool!". Immedately, Coralline stood up and woke up, shaking the sleep from her body. "I dunno...what makes you think you can handle me?"

For her part, Coralline was not only fairly tall, but very well built, if not very lazy. She was VERY stront, very ripped and every muscle moved as she stretched into a full body Yawn. "I'm up for anything.....provided you can handle it, little.....I'm Coralline, what's you're name?" Despite the fact that she would love to beat the shit out out of the girl in front of her, she was still surprisingly friendly.

Her name? Josie was a little startled a bit by the request. Josie was still a convict on the run, so giving away her real name wasn't exactly safe. She had to find a neutral name. Something that could never give anyone the slightest clue to who she is.

"Kitty.....yeah, that's it"

Yeah. Kitty was her name...for a lack of a better one. Josie sniffles, rubs her nose and looks around, completely lost in her own track of mind.

"So, right here, right? Okay...watch the BIRDIE!"

In a flash of recklessness and with a fair warning, Josie would lunge a fist for the little girl's shoulder.

Given that much time to telegraph, most people would have moved out of the ex-convicts way. Most people, were not, in fact, Coralline. The first hit was on her, both figuratative and litterally. Smart pain radiated from her shoulder as the slacker took the punch.

"That was your first one, buddy!" Once the shoulder felt the pain, her own hands wrapped around the ladies wrists. In a fluid motion that both forced the ex-convict away and then brought her sharply back, Coralline demonstrated the devastating impact of the Forced Stop. Her knee hit the ground the moment her opponent did. Coralline's smile could not be wider. Perhaps her was the challenge she was looking for.

"Now then, Kitty, shall we finish this in the ring?" She said, offering her hand to the prostrate opponent.

The punch had connected, and it seems that the other girl had already started her retaliation by lunging for Josie's arms. Once Coralline's arms found themselves busy grasping at her wrists, Josie will lunge her head foward in a strong headbutt. However, if Coralline's push happened at a blazing speed far quicker than the short time Josie needed to send her headbutt, the jail bird will find herself shoved up against a conveniantly placed vending machine.

"Ring? What? You mean you ain't down for doing it, here!?"

Josie sounded a little bit in shock, yet she would be more surprised at the amount of brute strength the girl had packed in her slender arms. Not only that, but she would realize how strong her back had struck the vending machine when the sound of a soda can falling down the chute broke the silence between the two women.

"Pretty well versed in the ancient stuff, aren't you?"

Josie will ask while massaging her wrists. Boy, this chick had a grip.
