The crowd all turned their heads as "Mind as Judgement" by Faylan played over the speakers. They knew who was coming; Hitomi Shiraishi, a newcomer who made quite a name for herself when she beat down AFW's queen of brawl, Sarah Gatt. Many wondered whether or not it was a fluke, since Sarah had been having a nasty series of losses before the match. Hitomi, however, was sure it was not. She had beaten her opponent down, and was going to do it again tonight.

As Hitomi walked onto the ramp, the crowd actually cheered for her. She wondered why that was, since she wasn't the type to pander. But the crowd tonight wanted blood. They wanted a brutal match, the type Hitomi could give. So they cheered, hoping that Hitomi wouldn't disappoint, and that she would leave the ring bloodied. Hitomi gave them only cursory acknowledgement, before walking down the ramp and slipping into the ring.

Not long after Hitomi's entrance came her opponant, the diminuative Layla McKarthy. She arrived decked out in her usual green attire, with her usual scowl plastered on her face. She had surprised everyone in her debut match by not only beating an opponant nearly twice her size, but by making her beg for mercy. Many were wondering if she could do the same tonight.

Layla started off down the ramp to some enthusiastic cheers from the crowd, but mostly ignored them. When she got to the ring she climbed into and headed for her corner, glaring at Hitomi as she went to stand inside it.

At first Hitomi thought the little girl coming down the ramp was just a joke, but when she actually climbed into the ring, Hitomi couldn't help but laugh.

"Well what's this?! They sent me to fight a freakin' hobbit!" she said, loud enough that the crowd caught her words and laughed with her.

She looked over the girl from top to bottom, which wasn't very hard as Layla was very short. Hitomi didn't notice anything special, but when she saw Layla's eyes, she knew that this girl was trouble. Layla's eyes seemed angry, yet focused. Hitomi knew that anger was good fuel for fighting, and that if Layla could remain in control, she might be a lot stronger than she seemed.

"Well chibi-chan," Hitomi said tauntingly, "What's your name?"

Layla clenched her fists at Hitomi's words about her. ou'd think after years of abuse and similiar harsh words, she'd be used to such things by now. But anger built up inside her regardless, anger that would help her beat Hitomi into a very messy pulp.

Layla didn't know much Japanese, but she knew enough that Hitomi was mocking her again. She gave a grim kind of smile. "My name's Layla," she answered soon enough. "And I don't care what your name is. Just know you're going to regret what you said." Layla slipped into a readied stance, one foot in front of the other, and she raised her arms for defense. She smirked at Hitomi, beckoning her on as the bell signaled the start of the match.

Hitomi settled into a loose fighting stance as well. She was not trained in any real styles, but had significant experience in fights. Experience was her teacher, and she knew what was effective in order to win, in order to survive.

"You must think I'm underestimating you right now, because you're so small," Hitomi said, "Don't worry, I'm not. I've beat up girls bigger than me when I was your size." She smiled, and slowly advanced. She was hoping to disarm Layla a little bit before engaging, screwing with her head so she wouldn't be as focused. It worked many times before, and had been crucial in Hitomi's victories. No reason it wouldn't work now, especially with Layla so angry.

Layla raised an eyebrow when Hitomi said she wasn't underestimating her, even trying to relate with her through her size. But there was a crucial difference between the two of them that Layla could not overlook. Hitomi had grown bigger, Layla had not. "You don't understand anything," she growled. Not wasting anymore time, Layla actually charged straight at Hitomi. Many thought it was a suicidal charge with the noticible difference in proportions, but Layla had a plan. At the last second, she ducked down, and taking advantage of her own size, would actaully slide between Hitomi's legs to end up behind her. If she managed that, Layla would immediately yank both of Hitomi's legs out from behind her, and slam her face first into the mat.

"Maybe I don't" Hitomi thought, "But it isn't stopping me from kicking your midget ass!"

Hitomi was prepared for Layla, standing her ground as Layla charged at her. She wasn't scared at all; just a little bit surprised. She knew that Layla was going to try something sneaky, it was the only way she could do damage with this kind of an attack. And Layla did exactly what was expected. She ducked down low, trying to slip in between Hitomi's legs.

"Like that'll happen!" Hitomi yelled, leaping backwards suddenly. This not only made Layla's attack ineffective, but also put her within knee range. Hitomi brought a knee up, aiming straight at Layla's face (Mostly because she was so short).

Layla's eyes widened when Hitomi anticipated her strategy, and suddenly she was completely exposed to the taller girl. It would not end up being a good position. "UGH!!!" Layla cried out as the knee slammed directly into hr face. The force sent her flying backwards onto the mat. She lay there stunned, groaning in pain.

Hitomi grinned as her knee struck down the little brawler. She walked over to Layla, grabbing her by the hair to pull her up. "Seriously, you should pick on someone your own size," Hitomi said. She raised a fist and aimed it straight at Layla's face. "Because then you might actually win!"

That last hit left Layla seeing stars. She could see at first glance that Hitomi was a bully, but rarely did she meet a bully that could back up her words. She squeeled when Hitomi dragged her up by her hair, which brought her back to her senses somewhat, and she was forced to her feet. She opened her teary eyes to glare at Hitmoi as she said her piece. "Shut up!" she screamed. Swiftly her hands would come up to catch the punch, and working on the momentum, would shift her body, and try to use the arm to flip the taller Hitomi over her shoulder.
