Lewa vs Talya

Lewa made her way to the ring, bouncing lightly on her feet most of the way there in a boxing-like stance, though her hands up like cat's paws. It might have been a mockery of her foe, the fans couldn't quite tell, but it was adorable. They cheered and Lewa loved it, smiling back and grabbing fans in quick hugs and kisses. When she was near the ring, she ran at it on all fours and pounced up, grabbing the apron with her forelegs/arms and hurling herself the rest of the way over the ropes. She hopped again and sat back, balancing playfully on the top rope (not turnbuckle, just butt on the rope) until her opponent would come for her to prove herself superior to

"No really, you need to listen to me."

Mika was obviously worried, with only about an hour to go before Talya's first match in the AFW, Mika was throwing somewhat of a small panic attack at her. Sure they had been through the same thing several times before, this wasn't their first match, but in a foreign land and with people they didn't know, Mika was certainly worried.

"I mean, didn't you look at these photos? Or the tapes? She's totally wild!" she announced to Talya who was putting the finishing touches on her hair, pinning it up secure in place.

"You know I did, I watched them with you remember?" she nodded, looking at herself in the mirror in their locker room, "It's not like we don't live in the same place 'Mikers". She turned and saw the exhasperated look on Mika's face and responded back with a smile. "Besides, wasn't their a girl with that jungle gimmick back in Hawaii?"

"Yeah."

"What was her name again?"

"Mary Jane Jungle."

Talya nodded and lifted her hand, pointing it straight upwards as she remembered. "Oh yeah, Mary Jane Jungle. See? Nothing we haven't seen before."

"True," noted Mika, "but Mary didn't walk out on all fours or actually look like she was going to bite you, this girl does."

Talya finally turned and nodded before walking up to Mika and placing a hand on her shoulder. Mika felt a bit reassured and jealous at the same time, after all it was Talya who was getting the honor of having the first match. Still, Mika exhaled and nodded slowly.

"I'll be fine. Just sit ringside and watch the show huh?" she spoke in the most soft voice she could manage.

"I'd rather be ringside with you but...alright. I better get to my seat." Mika did honestly sound a bit heartbroken, but it was alright, at least she would be there to watch. She wished her friend and partner good luck and then turned towards the exit.

She wouldn't get too far before being stopped by "the question" that she feared would come: "You didn't bring a stupid sign with you did you?"

Mika froze in place for a second and turned with a smile. Talya stood with her hands on her hips and her head tilting slightly to the side.

"Of course not. I know you hate it when I make signs."

"ESPECIALLY the glittery ones." added Talya who nodded and turned.

Mika took her leave of Talya's room, but not before picking up a backpack and her glittery "Go Talya!" sign.

It only made sense that she would come out second, she was one of the new girls, and it didn't bother her that her opponent went out. She even sneaked several peeks outside and was able to catch a glimpse of her awkward movements. Talya began to think that Mika was a bit more right then she had though, this girl seemed a bit wild. But, she had of course seen the gimmick before, and decided to press on. After Lewa's enterance was finished it was her turn, as her music blared on and she took that first step into the bright lights of the AFW.

It wasn't her first entrance, and she was sure it wasn't going to be her last. She moved like she had done many times before, arms up and waving, moving towards the ring with a purpose. She would tap the occasional fan's outstretched hands for support, though there was barely any since she was the new girl. Still, she moved forward with a smile on her face and her hands in the air. When she got to the ring she pulled herself up and ducked under the top rope and into the ring, moving to her corner while keeping an eye on Lewa who was, strangely enough, "perched" and balanced on the top rope. Whatever her style was, she certainly had good balance.

It was then that Mika popped out her secret weapon, a white and red glittery sign that caught Talya's eye. Talya paused, looked at it and shook her head, almost feeling Mika's smile on her.

Not one to linger long, she stretched out her arms in the corner and gave the occasional wave to fans on her side before turning around and facing her opponent, eager to get her first match in the AFW going.

Lewa seemed eager to hop at her foe once she entered the ring, but the ref girl had been warned and got between her and Talya. Lewa huffed a bit, puffing out her fairly small chest in defiant obediance, pacing her side of the ring until the ref stepped aside slowly and the bell sounded.

"Gonna getcha!" Lewa declared excitedly, rushing at Talya on both legs before shifting halfway to all fours, trying to send a fast leg sweep to bring her down and swiftly straddle her chest if she went.

"Ok, lets get it together." Talya thought to herself. She noticed Lewa moving and the ref girl get in between them, it was a reassuring sight to see that the ref was actually doing her job and not afraid to show some authority. She took quiet mental note of that and nodded to herself before stretching her arm above her head and leaning towards the side really quick. She gave two quick jumps to work her legs to make sure they were a bit warmer then starting blank, she felt ready and confident...a bit nervous as well, as it was her first time anywhere other then at home with Mika. Still, the nerves didn't show on her face as the smile quickly turned serious as she could feel the anticipation of the bell to start the match.

The bell rang and she took a step forward with her arms raised before she heard Lewa, then subsequently saw her come tearing out of her corner towards her. It was standard, she had been bull rushed before...that is until she really did act like a bull. The girl got down on all fours and charged as if the red of her outfit was some sort of cape and she had fur and horns. Talya's eyebrow went up slightly as her head tilted for a second, "What in the-" she asked herself in her own head. She was somewhat flabbergasted by what she saw, just enough to be taken for a quick ride. Lewa moved in and Talya planted herself for some sort of tackle, but with lightning speed Lewa swept at her legs. Talya tripped of course, totally unexpected what was coming, and fell backwards onto her back, her back slamming on the mat hard. It didn't hurt much, but it sure was a bit embarrassing. "This is not getting it together." she told herself.

Talya felt that she was attempting to somewhat straddle her chest, which she tried to counter by literally using her strength to push her off of her, but in the direction of the corner turnbuckle behind her. She would bridge to assist in the move, then quickly roll to get to her feet...that is if she could in time. Speed wasn't one of her strengths...

Lewa struck with her "claws," grabbing a fistful of hair each and jerking Talya's head around, banging it on the mat once or twice before being tossed off, rolling nimbly. She took a moment to reclaim her footing and bolted right back at her, this time trying to give a short hop before impact and throwing a miniature dropkick into her side

She sure managed to get her off of her when Lewa straddled her, but suddenly felt that this was strangely more then just a wrestling match and more like...who knew at this point. The wild child managed to grab onto her hair for a short time and tossed her head sideways several times before slamming it back into the mat several times. Talya had enough of that and enacted her plan, forcefully pushing her off using whatever solid body parts she had her hands on. She bridged her back to assist which helped both in the fact that it added to her "power-throw" and that it let her see what happened behind her while she quickly rolled and got up, her eyes not leaving Lewa once.

Which was a good thing, because the darker skinned girl pretty much just rolled nimbly and only took a few seconds pause to regain her footing. Talya wasn't sure if she really was that balanced, or just plain lucky. Still, the wrestling gods weren't going to make it that easy for her and trip Lewa into the turnbuckle for her. None the less, she was up and ready this time.

Already in her head bells and whistles were going off. That other girl with the jungle gimmick, Mary Jane Jungle, didn't move half this fast...and was a lot taller too. Still, she made mental notes to herself that this girl was quick, which was generally Mika's department. They were such opposites, and, while speed was generally weakness to her, training with Mika over the years certainly made her more then prepared for it.

The wild card factor was in her crazed posture and the wild nature, she was starting to see where the nickname "Wild Child" came from. She was fast like Mika, but unconventional. (She also apparently could outrun Mika on all fours...). Mika would have attempted something along the lines of a dropkick to topple Talya down to her level, and it just so happened that was what Lewa was trying to to.

Needless to say, Talya saw the charge and did what she could do. She was never fast, never one to roll or do half spinning upper tuck backflips with 189839 degree twists to avoid things. No, Talya simply stepped backwards and would attempt to let her opponent use her own momentum to sail past her. Hopefully she would get lucky, and then have her timing right and bring a wicked hammerfist straight down on whatever parts of Lewa was in the way when she jumpkicked her way past Talya.

Lewa was thrown off by the dodge, sliding harmlessly on the mat when Talya's fist shot down at her. She squirmed a bit to avoid a shot to the chest, though taking a hit to the belly in exchange that made her yelp a bit, trying to claw her way off rapidly and growling low at her

Talya felt her fists impact Lewa and it was, admittedly, satisfying. She knew Mika would be watching and it was her that she would have to silently thank later, once again, for being the sole reason why speedy small ones like Lewa didn't totally run circles around her. Talya stood for a moment and watched Lewa fall, quickly contemplating a follow up elbow drop. She decided quickly against this, Lewa probably wouldn't be there and it would put her back on the mat. Instead she paused and took a breath for a second. In her early training it was burned into the back of her mind that pausing and taking a breath might always be a better situation then full frontal attack.

After the brief moment she looked down and saw Lewa who attempted to almost literally claw her way. Talya could even hear a slight growling from her over the cheers of the crowd. She was now starting to really wonder how feral this girl was...or was it all an act? At this point she was convinced that it was anything but an act, and now wondered just how catty this girl could be.

"Not so fast!" stated Talya bluntly, as she quickly tried to get over her opponent and sit on her back reverse style. Hopefully she would not only be able to actually get on her back, but apply enough weight to keep her down and set the little feral child up for a boston crab!

As Lewa was straddled, she decided not to take this laying down... genuinely. She'd rise up to all fours when Talya was above her, trying to throw off her balance a bit before she reached up at her back.

"Go down!" she snapped simply, grabbing for her costume or hair to try and yank her backwards with

The crab shack was closed for now. No crab, Boston style or any other, was served.

Talya attempted to get into position, which she accomplished. If she only was a bit faster it might have paid off, but being fast, quick and overly agile wasn't her. Lewa on the other hand had it going for her in abundance and managed to get on all fours right as she got into position. Talya's eyebrow rose with some shock as the girl got up, she was deceptively strong in both physical strength and willpower. It was a second of thought that would cause her an opening. She just, quite honestly, wasn't sure what she was to do, and even more unsure of what Lewa was doing at the moment.

Almost as fast as Lewa got on all fours she felt a hand grab onto part of her costume and yank back hard. The strange yet effective tactic took Talya by surprise, taking her off of her feet as she fell backwards onto her back, the loud slam sound of her hitting the ring echoing all around here. It wasn't very graceful at all, and certainly not where she planned to be a few seconds ago...
