It Takes Two To Tango (Ayesha and Anne)

Anne would attempt to focus on the business at hand, hoping that doing something other than talking would undo some of her awkwardness of before. Gesturing to a space beside her for Aye to join her, she would turn to face the mirror. She would begin with some simple warm-up stretches. Her feet apart stretching her arms above her head as her body arched from side to side. Next holding her arms out to twist at the waist until her shoulders were 90 degrees to her hips. Finally some slow toe-touches, bending at the waist until she could grab her ankles.

Her blue eyes would keep watch of Aye in the mirror, in case her form needed correction.

ONE TWO THREE

HIT IT LETS GET TO WORK!

Stretch those fibers, get some energy!

Aye stretches up, trying her besty

Feels the wiggling pain, oh the agony!

Twist the waist, to the right degree

Right angle, triangle, do you agree!

Feel that ache, Aye, you damn slowpoke

Stretch up stretch on, get to work!

Quit your groans, get that calories

Burn them, the furnace needs a cooking!

Aye, despite feeling her joints aching already due to not stretching as much as she should, still gave a thumbs up after that first wave.

Anne watched her partner and trainee suffer through a litany of stretches that seemed to push her limits and strain her joints. At the jubilant thumbs up the blonde offered a grimacing smile, "Okay, so we're putting yoga on the agenda, too. Like, more than winning matches the most important thing isn't to, like, tear a ligament in the ring. Not putting on any kind of show in a leg cast. But that'll do for now."

Striking a dramatic pose she extended a hand out to Aya with a giggle, "Now, shall we dance, my dear?"

Spinning and rotating her arms to get the feeling of pain out, even stamping her foot a bit to try to shock some feels back through her aching limbs, Ayesha giggled at "dear", and said, "Heck yeah!" she extended her own hand out to grab Anne's.

As she did, a sort of odd feeling came to her. It wasn't like she hadn't held others hands before, she'd shaken hands and taken hands from people helping her up. But this was different. This was someone offering the hand to dance. Shaking off the odd feeling, she gave a smile as she said, "I'm ready to shake this roof down!"

It was only when Aye laughed that Anne realized that "dear" may have been overly familiar and turned a little red, but the girl didn't seem to take offense. So that was good! Taking Aye's hand in her own she would try to twirl her in closer before showing her the proper placement of their hands. "Alright, roof shaker, just follow my lead."

This time they had a little music to help with keeping rhythm, guiding Aye back and forth, then the little cross over step that had tripped them up before.

Getting twirled up to Anne like that caused Aye's face to turn into a face of surprise, not expecting such a move. Then she readjusted it to a face of determination, ready to get this shit done.

Swing the feet!

Four Five Six!

Go back and forth!

Seven Eight Nine!

Watch your step!

Ten Ten Ten!

Stop kissing the floor!



Ayesha found herself having somehow slipped right out of Anne's grip by that end step and now lying face first on the floor. She rolled up back to her feet, snorting through her nostrils.

"AGAIN!"

Anne counted off the steps, guiding Aye as best she was able through the back and forth steps of the dance. But at the cross the girl got all tripped up and wound up taking a digger. In an instant Aye had popped back up again ready for more. But Anne was not as quick to continue.

"Oof! Whoa whoa, hold on a second, Aye." Placing her hands on Aye's shoulders she'd give the girl a careful once over with her eyes, "We're not in a ring, this floor doesn't bounce... didn't hit your face or anything? Sure you're good? Knees? Ankles? All solid?"

Ayesha was surprised by Anne's concern. She wasn't sure why, but she wasn't expecting this level of concern from her. It didn't even come across to her that the floor she fell on was quite hard and that it could have legitimately hurt her face like that.

Deciding she was pretty okay and her face was in one piece, she gave a double thumbs up. "All solid! I've had worse." she gave a little laugh, running a hand through her hair. "I'm still up for this!"

There was a momentary pause as Anne's bright blue eyes searched Aye's face for signs of injury or pain, knowing how stubborn some folks can be about accepting help. But finding her sound enough she flashed a bright smile, "Alright, let's try this again then!"

Taking one of Ayesha's hands in her own and setting her other on the girl's waist she'd move back to starting positions. "Now, just take your time and mind your footwork. That turn around at the end of the sequence can be tricky. You can even stare at your feet if it helps." Not that she was exactly leaving a lot of space between them for this, but she could try.

And so she did again!

Again trying to get used to Anne's placement of her hand around her waist, she gave it yet another shot.

In the midst of this spinning, she tried to look down at her feet because she started to feel her footing get goofed. But this move was a bit of a goof too because she didn't pay attention to how much she looked down because she accidentally headbutted Anne right in the mouth. Her hands clasped over her mouth on that as her eyes constricted in horror.
