Personality: stoic yet sometimes flirty to the fans while in the ring. Can be confident yet also aggressive depending on who she’s talking to.

Past/History: Life has always been a struggle for Rika nayamo.

She was just a teenager when her parents tragically passed away in a car crash, leaving her as the sole provider of her three younger sisters. And with the inheritance that was left to them by their now deceased parents quickly running out. The oldest sister had to drop out of school at the age of 17 and get a job just so they could keep their home.

She worked from food delivery to being a bike carrier and various other jobs across Tokyo. Practically running herself ragged on a daily basis but earning just enough to bring food to the table and her sisters in school.

But Rika knew that she would eventually drive her body into the ground if she continued this lifestyle and would be unable to help her siblings then. So she was on the constant lookout for a more permanent solution.

And one came from the strangest of places.

She was approached one day by a sleazy looking man with a business card. It wasn’t the first time a similar man asked the pretty young woman to do something that she knew was essentially selling her body for money. So she was fully prepared to turn this guy down. Until he finally began to explain his pitch.

What he offered Rika was a chance to earn more money than she could ever dream of. All she would need to do was become a member of an underground wrestling league. Win or lose she would get $500 for competing. But If she actually wins then the prize would be doubled.

Now Rika was a pretty decent fighter, but she had never done something such as pro wrestling. Luckily the recruiter showed her a special (If slightly sketchy) gym that would train her in everything she’d need.

Her training was small and soon enough she was already being shoved into a match. Luckily she had decided to wear a mask so that she couldn’t be recognized and took the part of a rookie luchadora.

Her first match was….. enlightening.

She got the tar beaten out of her by a rather large woman that liked to call herself the ox. A woman that was more than happy to show poor Rika that nothing in the ring was staged.

Her arrogance would become her undoing however, for after stretching and pummeling the young rookie for who knows how long. Rika would suddenly make a shocking comeback and manage to hit Ox with a lucky blow that put her down for the count.

And so Destler Bartlett was christened in Victory.

She went home sore as all hell, but a thousand dollars richer. And when her sisters asked what the hell happened to her. She would lie and say that she merely got into a fight with some thugs on her way back home.

And that’s how the lie continued. For night after night afterwards, Rika was either in a match or training more into her own style of lucha wrestling and brawling submissions. Her wins growing more than her losses and ending up actually becoming the league champion.

But all good things had to come to an end. And soon enough it was revealed that the league was into some pretty illegal practices. Rika managed to get out unscathed but now she was jobless once again.

At least until a recruiter for a much bigger and more infamous league approached her with an offer to join the big girl table. With a contract that offered more than her little stint ever could.

She didn’t hesitate to accept. Though time will tell if it was the right choice.

Fun Fact: her name was chosen just before her first ever fight as the one she originally planned to have was already taken and she had only just found out. She tries to keep this little tidbit a secret though.
