A FIRST TIME MEETING: KEVIN DEREK VS. RAFAEL VEGA

The initial hit to the ropes did sting, but Kevin stays with the headlock trying to tighten back up.  Feeling Rafael backing up a couple of steps in the process.  Amazed at the cockiness it must take to think he can just walk out of the headlock when ......

"OUFFFFF"

He gets impaled in his side and abs by his opponents hard shoulder.  Kevin's mouth opens as he looks for the air that just got drilled out of his body.  Headlock released and it takes a few seconds for him to recover enough to retaliate.  Raising his right arm and trying to drop it hard across the Brazilian's shoulders before he moves clear.

Rafa's shoulder booms into Kevin's gut and possibly leaves him feeling sick to his stomach. The headlock can easily be slipped free of now as Rafael inches back. He sees Kevin's arm raised to try and smash down across his head and Rafael catches the arm midair with both of his.

"Too slow!" he teases as he starts to twist the wrist around painfully, but then gets an idea. He lifts the arm up and spins around, back facing Kevin as he drags the arm over his shoulder. He then tugs forward and ducks down aiming to flip Kevin over his shoulder and slam him onto his back on the ground ahead of them. It'd be simple for a practiced judoka like him to then drop right into an armbar provided he was able to accomplish as much in such a short time.

Kevin's hammer comes down and is met with the hands of his opponent.  Rafael is already mid-twist with his back coming in against his torso before he can reach out trying to get his finger into prying position against his opponent's tight grip on his wrist.

"Oh No You Don....."

Unable to finish his sentence or resist going over the smaller guys back and land with a thud on his back in front of them with a stunned and half lost look on his face.  Thinking ... "how the f*** did I get here" as the Judo throw get executed expertly on him.

Kevin jerks on his arm still trying to jolt it free.

Rafael manages his flip and gets his opponent grounded once more, but this time, he wasn't taking any chances. He drops down onto his back with Kevin's arm still clutched tightly against his chest. His legs wrap around the limb and he begins to twist at the wrist viciously trying to entice a quick tap.

"I know your memory's bad old man, but this is the part where you tap out, remember?" he barks again smugly, just waiting for Kevin to respond verbally so he could twist even harder and try to make his voice crack. Kevin had a decision to make here; try and fight the armbar and let Rafael continue to torment it, or tap out and avoid having to run the rest of the match with a sore arm.

Kevin looks across at Rafael's outstretched body beside him now.  Still figuring out what the lighting kid has in place as he tests the hold.  His arm flexing against the grip of his opponent to see if there is any looseness in the grip.  Finding none and the twisting starting to be more than just a bit uncomfortable.

"HEH .. You don't have me puNK!"

His voice cracking in response to a surge of twisting pressure. Tanned Brazilian legs locking the arm bar on now and Kevin's mind starts to debate between prideful resistance or the long term play.  Seeing the look on Rafael's face making him pretty sure that's exactly the internal conflict the cocky new guy was hoping to create.

"ARRGHHHHHH"

Rafael brims with pleasure at hearing Kevin's voice hitch a score higher when he works the armbar midsentence. His legs are locked tightly across the man's chest with no sign of letting up while Rafael remains calm and poised. This was his wheelhouse and he was not going to disappoint.

"Wow, such a tough guy we got here!" Rafael calls out as he plays to the crowd. He hoped this would entice the first round to be over, because he was in sore need of a breather. "Look at him! Fully prepared to go another two rounds with a dead arm, just because he's too stubborn to tap. Oh well, let's see how far he can twist before it snaps!" he cheers as he starts working the arm harder. Of course, he would never actually do such a thing in real life, he only intended to make it hurt and make it seem like he might so that Kevin would be encouraged to tap.

MENTAL TORTURE is all that Kevin can think as this Brazilian punk kid has him locked in good and is purposely stomping all over his pride in the process. He's be impressed if it were happening to anyone other than himself.

"ARRRGHHHH ... Doesn't bend that way you little prick"

Unable to hide the pain or the anger in his response as he tries again to shift around but his opponent's legs hold him firmly down against the mat. Another taste of Rafael's twist and he closes his eyes ... not against the pain but fighting to swallow his pride while he reaches up and taps against the shin closest to him. Giving up fall #1.

Rafael's lock pops apart the moment he feels Kevin's hand begin to tap away at his shin. He rolls backwards in a somersault onto his knees, throwing one fist up into the air with a big grin.

"Haaa, sucker! Fell for it!" he taunts and sticks his tongue out childishly as he rises to his feet. He places hands on his hips as he paces back and forth to catch his breath and wipe some sweat from his brow. One down, one to go and he'd be securing a big win!

"Come on, come on, we don't have all day!" he adds in to further annoy Kevin.

Kevin is normally too cool headed to react to the trash talking of a punk new comer, but right now he is 100% pissed off.  Mad at himself for letting the kid get the best of him for the first fall.  Fighting it for a few more seconds as he rolls up to his knees and then to his feet to shake out his arm.  Walking in a small circle and then ....

"RAHHHHHHHHHHHH"

He lets out a crazy yell as a relief valve and snaps out with a full force, unrestricted chop across Rafael's tight pecs.  Not going for strategy just as he only wants to hit something.

Rafael winks and turns around to wave to the crowd to heighten his hype and work up their reactions. He's unawares of Kevin's recovery while he does his showboating and walks over to the ropes, leaning forward and giving a dazzling smile to a ringside fan taking pics. It's only when he hears Kevin shout like a wild animal behind him that he whips back into action and flips around.

POW! A hard chop blasts full force into his untensed chest, bouncing him backwards into the ropes as he staggers with a groan of pain. He sinks back with one elbow hooked on the top rope while the other grabs his newly sore chest.

"Tsk, tsk, sore loser are we?" he taunts again as he starts to pull himself up proper. He aims and fires off a low kick at the side of Kevin's shin to keep him busy while he gets standing again.
