Personality: What happens when you mix a can do attitude with country grit and a dollop of southern charm? Dakota. Always tending to look on the bright side of things, she’s quick with a helping hand or some words of advice… even if some of it tends to be jumbled countryism. She isn’t the best with having all the right words like those poet types. Not one to back down from an open challenge, she rarely looks before leaping which lands her in hot water more times than not. She tries her best to be considerate of others, but is almost entirely ignorant of much culture outside of her hometown life and choice of professions, which can sometimes lead to her saying things that might offend someone.

Past/History:

Ruth Lane, also known as the small town circuit in Georgia as “Babe” Ruth, after the baseball sensation, made a name for herself striking out opponents in the ring for most of her life. A knockout gal who happened to enjoy her fans a bit too much, especially during rowdy afterparties wound up getting herself knocked up on the cusp of actual stardom. She made the hard choice to put her career on pause and confront the father… and found out he was a pretty good man. The two hit it off a second time, with less booze and loud music, and turned an accident into their own happy ending. The two married and had a beautiful baby girl named Dakota.

Dad worked out of home as a mechanic and mom, after busting her ass to get back into shape, made a return to the ring. Muscles were a common sight around the house, be it Ruth hitting the training or dad tuning up muscle cars. Both things were ingrained into her from a young age, taking to helping out around the house in the afternoons and going to wrestling events to cheer on mom at night.

While other girls were doing their nails and gossiping during slumber parties Dakota was hard at work perfecting her sleeper holds and bodyslams of couch cushions. Her love of the sport convinced Ruth to take on her daughter and teach her how to wrestle, assuming she kept up with her schoolwork. It was always up in the air between her parents what path their daughter would ultimately take, making sure they helped guide her to a career that best suited her. To their surprise, she wound up splitting her time to pursue both of her parents' fields of work throughout and after high school, taking their worries to heart.

With a trade background to fall back on should things go south, she took to the independent circuit to test her mettle in the ring to mixed success. A video of one of her matches happened to go viral, catching the attention of an AFW recruiter who extended an offer to Dakota. A bit overwhelmed by the sudden hike in pay and audience, it was too good of a chance to pass up. Besides, she always wanted to see where those fortune cookies came from… or was that China?

Fun Facts:

Mechanically Sound: Dakota actually is a certified mechanic, taking trade classes while in high school and finishing up after she finished back before knowing if she was going to take after mom or pop. In the end she settled for a little bit of both until making the move to Japan.

Hat Trick: Her trademark hat is actually a hand me down from her mother’s wrestling days. She learned early on that more heelish adversaries might try to target her prized garment, so the ones she wears to the ring for matches are actually replicas. Her mother’s actual hat tends to be safe at home or waiting in her locker for after the match.
