GASTER vs Cassie R. - Standard Match

Standard match: Win by pin, submission or k.o.

Thrill was in the air that night. Inside the AFW Dome people gathered on the stands in search for excitement that made their week worth it. The night promised some action and also surprises and enigmas. That night a new wrestler was debuting against a well known fighter who donned a mask all the time. All the ingredients were set for what it could be a triple A entertainment show. Life could be tedious anywhere else, but inside that arena, life was fun and exciting every day.

Inside the lockers room, a young woman was finishing her warmup exercises. She was donning a simple attire consisting on black and red top and shorts, all adorned with a jacket. One could think it wasn’t a very thrilling kind of gear for a wrestler, but only a fool would say that after watching that blonde wearing it, because no matter what she wore, she was stunning. The woman called Cassandra Redshaw, more known as Cassie R. in ring got back to her locker and got her cell phone. With a confident grin on her face she sent a final text to a friend she had been chatting with.

Cassie’s self-confidence was well grounded. The woman had spent some time travelling around the US participating in several martial arts tournaments, winning some and having more than decent results in every one of them. Her scoreboard back in the States was unparalleled for someone her age and size, and besides all that, she knew really well how far her skills could go. Some good percentage of a winner’s attitude started even before the match, and being so in fear of what her rival could throw at her was loser’s thinking.

Cassie R.:

Still having some looks at her phone now and then, Cassie made her way backstage and waited until she heard the beginning of her entrance theme before stepping on the ramp. There, a small drone took off and started following her. That was actually an idea she had a week before her debut: she would pay some drone specialist to follow her and take cool pics of whatever she did in ring, of course ignoring the unlikely photos taken when she was getting hit. As she walked down the ramp Cassie kept her cool, blowing bubbles on her chewing gun and not interacting much with the people with the exception of some V for victory pose while walking without even stopping. The blonde had the walk and attitude of a superstar mingling between the lower folk.

Finally, Cassie reached the ring and slipped between the top and the middle ropes. When she got to the center of the ring she threw a coupld of jabs and a kick that got the crowd’s applause, and then she took her phone and posed for her social media while she made a reel.

After all her ritual was done, Cassie walked towards her corner and called a stagehand. “Hey, you! Here, take this and be careful.”, she said while handing her cell phone to the man. “A single scratch on it and you ass is the second one I kick tonight. Oh, and get rid of this.” remembering something, she retrieved her chewing gum with two fingers and put it in the man’s free hand. Being done with the conversation, Cassie turned away and leaned against her corner, having a good look at the entrance area to not lose any detail of her rival’s entrance. A confident grin appeared on Cassie’s face. Yeah, life was good.

It started to become a bit of a routine for Clara in AFW. It was always just matches and matches, but never going up or down, never challenging people higher up the card (barring one time she fought against Silver Ace on PPV). It was clear her career as a wrestler was stagnating, and something had to change. Was her gimmick too childish for a belt? And yet, undead wizards could win belts in other companies. Was she not popular enough? In her few years in AFW, she had built up a decent fanbase...what was it then?

As she looked on TV in the locker room, she saw her opponent, a debuting Cassie Redshaw, go down the ramp with fanfare and...a drone flying around behind her, making photos of her, with Cassie treating herself like she was an established star...despite from what she had found online, this was her first match. Clara felt like Cassie was treating this match as if she had already won...and Clara was determined to make that ending not come to pass.

Darkness fell after Cassie's theme stopped playing, as a single spotlight shone onto the entrance ramp, GASTER's lonely figure shuffled onto it swaying back and forth like a zombie...before becoming much livelier and letting out an evil laughter. "Mwahahahahaha!"

From there, GASTER walked much more quickly, before she grabbed a mic from the stage hand at the side of the ring, and entered, breaking into her signature evil laugh one more time before things quieted down, and the Shadow Lord spoke:

"Look at you there...behaving as if you are already somebody, as if you were a lord of this place before you even did anything here! It's up to evil creatures like me to obliterates creatures like you into oblivion! Mwahahahahaha!"

She passed the microphone back to the stage hand. It helped mentally to channel her worries into a short promo, and now she was pumped and ready to twist Cassie into a pretzel and make her submit!

Cassie wasn’t sure of what to expect from her rival. She only knew that her rival was one to fight with a mask on, and that would surely be part of some wrestling gimmick. Cassie wasn’t against anything like that, but in her case she just thought it wasn’t useful. After all, what would be a better gimmick than her unadulterated, honest and glorious personality. She was a champion in the making, popular and beautiful, so hiding behind some kind of wrestling persona wasn’t for her. But what about that night’s rival?

When she saw her rival walking down the ramp like a zombie Cassie had to repress some laugh, but a sardonic smile drew on her face. Her mask was a little unsettling for a horror Halloween costume, but seeing her in the middle of a wrestling environment was weird for the Beverly Hills woman. Definitely wrestling gimmicks wasn’t for her. It looked like a really waste of time that would distract her from more training and getting to be a better fighter. Showtime was good, but the only show she needed to provide was the beating she would give to their rivals, starting with this one.

GASTER took her time to reach the ring and there she took a mic and started some kind of in-character promo, threatening the blonde with obliteration. Cassie would look at her with an arched brow of skepticism while crossing her arms. When her rival was done with all the ceremony of entrance Cassie walked towards the center of the ring.

“Nice Saturday morning cartoon talk. Now if you are done, let’s get to the part when I kick your ass.”, she said while nodding to the ref signalling her readiness, adopting a guarding stance.

Clara expected Cassandra to no sell her character, and as such, she wasn't too angry at the situation. Simply wanting to beat up her rival that much more.

GASTER would stand prepared in a grappling stance, waiting for the ref's signal for the match to start.

DING DING DING!

The Shadow Lord would move closer to the middle of the ring, slowly, expecting Cassandra to explode out of the corner to attack her. Being a new wrestler in AFW, it was difficult to research her style, and as such, hard to know what to expect. As such, she decided to start with a simple Collar and Elbow Tie Up if Cassie met her in the middle of the ring...

By that point Cassie knew really well that her rival had some dubious taste for a show and entrances, her staging being so over the top in character nonsense. The crowd seemed to like it to some extent and that almost made the Beverly Hills woman roll her eyes up her skull in an overly sarcastic way. What she didn’t know yet was wether GASTER’s skills were on par to her staging or she had actual fighting knowledge. Not like that matter, the blonde was sure of her win that night. Her career was going to take off like a rocket after that.

The bell rang and Cassie’s fighting instincts took over. The blonde could act like a cocky brat, but when the time to fight arrived she was on point. That was her first time to shine in the AFW and she wasn’t going to throw it away. Cassie started circling her rival with a guarding stance, waiting, trying to read her and find any weaknesses. Then GASTER approached to the middle of the ring as if she wanted to lock some kind of test of strength. For the time being Cassie would comply and just when they were locked in the collar elbow hold she pressed on by throwing not one, but two nasty knee strikes at her rival’s stomach.

With GASTER and Cassie closing in, the Shadow Lord was half-expecting a punch or even a kick of some kind, wanting to quickly dash away before that happened...but to her surprise, Cassie endulged her in an early lock up...

...only to then come back at her with a pair of hard knees to her stomach!

"AAUGH! OOOUGH!!!"

The strikes took a lot of wind out of the Shadow Lord, weakening her significantly as her opponent gained full control of the lock up.

Cassie cackled at how easy it was for her to fool GASTER into locking in and then using that ruse to throw a couple of knee strikes against her stomach. Deceipt wasn’t Cassie’s style but that wasn’t purely deceipt but strategy. She made her rival gain confidence while thinking she could predict Cassie’s actions and then surprised her with something the Shadow Lord weren’t expecting at all. The best part of it was that now GASTER was almost limp in the lockup, completely unable to pose any resistance and that was what made Cassie laugh in satisfaction. Having things going her way was the best sensation for the blonde.

From where both wrestlers were at the moment there were lots of different possibilities and all of them looked interesting for Cassie who was in full control of the hold now, but in the end the blonde would settle for something simple and effective but most importantly, for something that would bring her rival to the mat since Cassie always considered grappling her specialty. That was why the blonde set her dazed rival for a DDT and made her go hard against the mat head first. “Kiss the mat, loser!”

With GASTER having the wind driven out of her, Cassie would be easily able to follow up her knee strikes with another move, namely managing to wrap her arm around her head, and drop to the floor, nailing the crown of her skull with a DDT!

"AAAAAAH!!!", GASTER cried out, the move forcing her drop to the mat, the world going dark in her eyes for a brief moment...

GASTER’s cries of pain were music for Cassie’s ears. For some instants the bratty brawler couldn’t help but feel a little bit offended about being booked for a match against that kind of pushover in a costume. Well, she would have to make up for that by having a good fun with her rival, or at least that was what Cassie was thinking.

Getting a hold on her rival, Cassie dragged GASTER so she would be back on her feet, then she proceeded to mock her rival’s lack of energy. “Talk about a cartoon character, you are a joke! Am I right or am I right??” Cassie walked around her dazed rival making fun of her and addressing the crowd, making it part of the mockery. Then she settled for her next move by gaining some momentum before going for a nasty high kick to the side of GASTER’s head that would surely get the woman going down once more.

"Mgggh...", GASTER moaned in pain as she was lifted to her feet after the DDT, her head still hurting, the Brit barely managing to make out her rival mocking her...

Still, despite being a bit dazed, she wasn't out yet, and was able to perfectly telegraph and block Cassie's attack. As she aimed high, the Shadow Lord put a hand up in front of the kick to absorb the blow...

...however, she would also follow up by quickly trapping the leg between her arm and her body, before twisting the limb with both arms for a Dragon Screw, tripping the brawler off her other foot and onto the hard canvas below!
