- Fitting In:
Fighter Stats and Strategy
Endurance: 5/5
Wind is tireless, relentless in its never ending pursuit of the unseen
Strength: 3/5
Beware because the strongest gales have the power to unseat even the sturdiest among us
Speed: 3/5
There has never been one to outrun the wind but outmaneuver, maybe.
Defense: 2/5
You'd be surprised how much one can strike at Wind, but that usually looks like flailing.
Technique: 1/5
Wind isn't the one to ask questions or think, just point her at a direction and she'll go.
There is nothing complicated about how Aella approaches her fights. She seems disinterested with the prospect and will rely on just staying airborne, far beyond the reach of her opponents and crush them with various styles of wind attacks. Bursts of wind will send her soaring by but shifting direction in the middle of a burst is difficult. Her flight is aided by her staff and without it, she can push herself around with the wind but can't make herself hover effortless. It takes a lot of mental focus to coordinate the wind patterns to make her hover with the wind, hence the staff being preferred.
Plan on projectiles against her to be blown off course or evaded as she flies through the air. She absolutely will avoid opponents trying to get close, lacking the abilities to contest practically anyone in a melee. This is especially the case as she is weightless, able to be picked up and carried by anyone. She has a few tricks to surprise and in spite of her lack of physical strength, she is supernaturally resilient to attrition from damage.
Powerset
Flight Staff: A tool used to passively control Aella's flight so she can effortlessly hover.
Wind Control: There are probably none that could parallel Aella's strength when it comes to manipulating wind. Bursts of wind at high speeds that is very versatile. It can blow projectiles off their course, create projectiles from debris, throw opponents around, and even direct her flight in speedy bursts. Spinning the air, she can create vortexes that can pull an opponent and potentially trap them in a the spinning cyclone for an eternity if she wanted to. Finally she can manipulate the air to create vacuums and near vacuums so if you ever wondered what it would be like to have your breath taken away...
Shard Connection: As a Shard, Aella is telepathically linked with her sister Shards. They are always aware of each other and can communicate in ways that others cannot. No distance or realm is too great though if one invested in proper barriers they could probably prevent communication. Though the messages are more abstract as their creation was meant to keep them all as individuals instead of being a hivemind.
- Awaiting Approval:
Defeat's Price: Defeating Aella will grant the opponent a portion of Wind power that they can use in future fights. This can be enhancing the character's other abilities in ways or adding some wind magic to their arsenal. They will retain this power until Aella reclaims it through a victory.
Aella's personality matches that of her element. She is airy in her attitude towards the world and others. Essentially, she shallow and condescending considering herself to be above others. It isn't necessarily out of a sense of her personally having a heightened status but rather others are almost always considered lower like the dirt. It is that others are the ones failing to be perfect in that sense. She'll pinpoint what she believes are flaws in the other as excuses to justify their insignificance. If left up to her, she'd prefer not to interact with the dirt and fly well above the grime that others possess.
An air-headed in being a bit daft or dreamy, often spacing out as she considers other things. Even if the timing is inconvenient, she'll get lost in other thoughts in a battle and conversation. Of course she does have a very vivid imagination and could be quite the creative soul if she put the time into an artistic outlet. Yet she only has a portion of a personality, limiting in her emotions aside from the one associated with her element.
History
Conflict has always been an aspect in which gods have used to thrive advance themselves. Depending on the mechanism of the god, they might manipulate conflict behind the scenes or directly engage in it as either form of conflict can be a way to achieve something. When Gaia was first conceived and the realms of Gaia divided, a monotheistic goddess aware of this reality decided to split herself into Shards in order to absorb the most conflict she could out of this reality. Existing as a single entity for so long in her own world had limited her ability to thrive in conflict and now she had a way to manipulate conflict directly.
By dividing herself, she broke a piece of each elemental she controlled and cast them into the Waygate to be scattered among the realms. Each shard, with its innate power, took the form of their element and quickly grew into a wandering Psion capable of reaching across the ether and pull from the goddess's own being to utilize her power.
Aella, the Shard of Wind, was said to have formed in a realm with a magnificent Gas Giant continuingly stormed with high winds and violent storms. Being but a small gust in a swell, she was thrown about for what seemed like millennia of time but it was only drop of sand in the hourglass for a goddess. In that time Aella grew, mastering her concept of wind and understanding the power she had. Having faced such a turbulent beginning and coming to thrive in that environment, she considered herself tried and true where other beings could not even imagine it.
Now Aella sets herself to wander the realms freely with no real objective in mind aside from the gentle pushes of her creator pushing her towards conflict. It matters not what happens so long as she fights.
