[Standard Match] Charlotte Ravel' vs Georgia Flynn - The road forward is never easy

Well.

It was about damn time.

The Irish-American from California finished putting on her boots and shin guards, adjusting her top, excitement and eagerness filling every bit of her body, from her head down to her toes. Finally, after nearly three years, the woman in her mid-20s was finally, finally back in an AFW ring.

The last time Georgia had been in the Friction ring was at in 2018, where she had taken on a new wrestler, Sonic Knight, a quick paced back and forth where Georgia had been defeated for her second loss in the league. Apparently, it hadn't impressed the higher ups, as she hadn't been booked for a single television match since, relegated to working in the AFW's performance center, working with other rookies, or working live events for various indy leagues around Japan, one of the benefits of AFW's contracts allowing their wrestlers to wrestle anywhere else.

But finally,FINALLY she got the call she had been waiting for, and at long last had been booked into a damn match. At last, a chance to show her growing skill and ability and finally kick some booty around Friction!

At least, that's what she had thought at first...until the call continued. Apparently, her opponent, someone called "The Sand Lizard" or something like that, was a massively popular up and comer with great talent, who had recently decisively defeated Friction veteran Alaina Sanders in an intense match at the recent Avalanche pay per view, and had gotten injured in the process.

Now that she was returning, the league wanted to match her up...against someone lesser, further down the totem pole. That way, it was explained to Georgia, they could get big ratings from her return, but put her against someone she certainly wouldn't lose to or have much trouble with, and certainly wouldn't be strong enough to re-injure the woman.

That was that. Just like that, Georgia's thoughts and hope for success in AFW fell apart yet again. Despite never being given so much as a single opportunity, AFW management had given up on her, and decided that she was just some lower card jobber. This way, they could keep their "big ticket stars" match record and reputation safe with an easy win, and save her bigger efforts for when they wanted to sell ppv tickets of her facing bigger and more famous opponents.

Well...fuck that.

No offense to this "Sand Lizard" woman, she must be talented to beat Alaina the way she did...but Georgia was not about to let herself slip into obscurity and jobber status damnit! She was going to bring the fight to this woman, and show those damn upper management types just why they shouldn't overlook her!

With her music playing, Georgia charged down the ramp, sliding underneath the ring ropes and entering the ring, offering a brief wave at the crowd. The reaction she got, admittedly, was only decent at best, if even that, most of the crowd not knowing/remembering who she was.

That was fine. After tonight, they would remember who she was.

Entering the ring, clad in her purple top, pants, and boots, she stood up and looked right across the ring at her opponent, the lovely pink haired Charlotte, and nodded respectfully to her.

"Yo. I'm Georgia. You look like you can handle yourself pretty well in a match. Don't take this the wrong way, I've got nothing against you at all, but I'm going to be coming at you pretty hard alright? I've got a lot riding on making sure you stay down for the three count tonight!"

She said sternly, but respectfully. This woman wasn't her enemy after all, and had to be a hell of a fighter no doubt, but losing to her was NOT an option!

While Charlotte waited for her new rival, she thought about a few things for a moment. More precisely, she remembered Victoria's words that she should have waited a little longer before returning to the ring. It was impossible to forget the match at the Avalanche. Broken and cracked ribs, a knocked out tooth and a broken nose a whole month were remining her of the Hell she went through in order to win. However, it was worth it. Not because the victory was valuable in itself, but because it became one step closer to the goal.

Many people do not notice this, and even more people simply ignore it, but many newcomers have been forced to exist in the shadow of more famous fighters for years. And even having talent does not mean that you will get a place in the sun. Charlotte was going to fix it. Therefore, she was going to surpass Alaina. After all, by winning the rivalry with her idol, by defeating the woman who was an unyielding authority for Charlotte, the Frenchwoman would show that this is possible. That if you are wholeheartedly devoted to your favorite work, then all paths should be open for you. Therefore, the Sand Lizard did not want to wait, she longed to return to the ring as soon as possible.

The incipient music took Charlotte out of her thoughts. The young woman turned her head to the side, watching the entrance of her today's rival. The Frenchwoman did not know anything about this woman except her name, but she did not see anything wrong with that. The martial arts master preferred to recognize her opponent during the fight. The reaction of the audience to the appearance of the brunette was not too stormy, but at least there was no negativity in the voices of people, which in itself was already a good sign.

And finally, Georgia stepped into the ring, happily waving to the audience. Now that Charlotte had a chance to look at the other woman, she blinked several times. Usually, she didn't care about the appearance of the one with whom she was going to face in battle. But now the Frenchwoman was pleasantly surprised, she had not yet had to face a woman of such an attractive appearance. If Alaina's appearance could be called outstanding, but peculiar, then Georgia's appearance could not be called anything other than beautiful. Perfectly balanced build, beautiful eyes and an expressive face. Amazing.

Charlotte had to pull herself together to start evaluating not the beauty of her rival, but her physical data. Georgia was somewhat younger than Charlotte, besides she was a little shorter and lighter than the Frenchwoman. However, judging from the experience of a martial arts master, the difference in height and weight did not always mean significant differences in capabilities. It is possible that this brunette can surprise her.

And she really did. Charlotte raised her eyebrows slightly in surprise when she heard Georgia's greeting. Was that her stage image? Overconfidence? Or she was really confident in her abilities so that it was so easy to say such loud words? The corners of Charlotte's lips lifted. Whatever the reason, she liked it. The Frenchwoman firmly believed in one thing. If you enter the ring, you must strive for victory. There is no place here for those who doubt their abilities. Doubt is tantamount to poison that will one day lead you to death. And if Georgia believed in her victory, then she already deserved some respect from Charlotte.

The martial atrs master pushed her back from the corner and headed forward. She stepped into the center of the ring, her brown eyes fixed on Georgia's. Charlotte had her own code of honor and the greeting was very important there. She saw no reason to give up her beliefs. The pink-haired woman clenched her right fist and pressed it against her straightened left palm. The Sand Lizard leaned forward, bowing to her rival.

"My name is Charlotte Ravel'," she said, straightening up, "I hope you are serious about your words because I am going to give you everything I have."

After greeting, she extended her right hand forward for a more classic handshake. She was well aware that her respectful bowing was considered by many to be too old-fashioned. But she had nothing against the usual handshake, if Georgia would accept that, of course. Ultimately, as the brunette said, there was nothing personal here. Charlotte considered herself a noble fighter and considered it a duty of honor to show due respect to her rival.

And if the handshake went smoothly, then she would have taken a few steps back in order to prepare for the start of the match and take up a fighting stance. She was going to move her right leg one step back, raise her right arm to the level of the chin, and leave her left arm at the level of the middle of the torso. Her gaze was focused, but a slight smile could still be seen on the Sand Lizard's face. She was glad. She was glad that she was able to return to the ring and she was glad that today she will face a woman like Georgia.

Hmm. A handshake. A gesture of respect. Of course she'd shake it. Sure, she felt that, for the future of her career, she absolutely had to defeat this woman and bring her down for the count, but there was never anything wrong with showing the appropriate respect.

"For what its worth, I heard you beat Alaina. That's pretty impressive, so I've no doubt you'll be a tough one to take down. I look forward to bringing out your best!" she said respectfully, as she shook The Sand Lizards hand, backing away right back to her corner after, doing some final stretches and hops as she waited for the bell to ring and officially start things off between the two women!

With the ringing of the bell, the match was on, and Georgia was ready. She had no desire to rush in foolishly, against an opponent she knew little about, especially since doing so would go against her usual grappling based ring style.

Charlotte however, seemed to have other plans, as the woman dashed in towards the second generation wrestler, intent on getting up close and personal with her! Luckily, it was hard to miss a woman with such bright hair and attire running towards her, so she was able to sidestep the left jab that was sent her way, but the follow up right cross was something she couldn't anticipate quick enough, and a fist smashed into Georgia's cheek, making her stumble back a few steps before straightening herself out.

"Alright, alright, nice shot. First blood to you then..." Georgia quipped, before lunging forward towards Charlotte while ducking down, trying to use her greco roman grappling skills to grab at Charlotte's leg and bring her down to the mat with a single leg takedown.

While Georgia succeeded in taking Charlotte down with her takedown attempt, any chance of an immediate follow up was blocked by the sudden fists raining down on her head. While not all of them connected, some merely brushing her hair, others landed true, smacking against her skull and getting yelps out of her with each shot.

As a result, once the two of them landed on the mat, instead of following up with a submission hold, Georgia winced and crawled backwards, trying to put some distance between her and the pink clad Charlotte. Simply put, those punches hurt and Georgia did NOT want to be in position to get punched more when her head was throbbing already just from those few connected shots!

Georgia had thought she was making the right choice by back-pedaling away, wanting to try and avoid taking more hard strikes. She was a practical woman, and while she could kick fairly hard, she knew she was far more of a technical wrestler and would not last in an exchange of strikes.

Unfortunately, it seemed fate was playing a trick on her, as her attempts to get away from Charlotte were quickly countered, the red-haired woman throwing a leg out with surprising speed and nailing the side of Georgia's head with a ground-level roundhouse kick, a loud "Crack!" as the kick landed, dropping Georgia flat onto her back!
