Lilliana Reynolds Vs. Atalante Pallas

Atalante stood ready and prepared, swaying a bit on her feet as she felt unsteady and her body was fatigued as all hell. She watched Lilliana stumble backwards and then right herself, seeing the fire in her eyes the Grecian readied herself to take another blow. Gritting her teeth and bracing for the incoming hit...but as Lilliana took a step forward she dropped down onto one knee.

Huffing out as she saw her opponent down in a vulnerable spot, Atalante would narrow her eyes. " Time to end this..." Atalante spoke out softly as she would swing her right leg up and curve it in mid air! Snapping it down to nail Lilliana right in the side of her head with her deadly Antares Kick!

Kneeled in the mat while trying to recatch her breath, Lilliana was fully aware that things weren’t going her way at all. The fight had been fair and even so far, but in the end it looked like her combat with Atalante was a fight of resistance after all, and her tank was almost out of fuel. Right at the moment, Lilliana’s body felt too heavy to do anything, the former soldier in desperate need of some rest before she could move or stand.

But Atalante wasn’t willing to give Lilliana any time to recover. The match had been going for long and both wrestlers were exhausted, but in the end everything would be settled whenever one of them showed signs of weakness, and Lilliana just gave the Greek a window of opportunity. With a quick and skilled move knowing how tired she was, Atalante lash a powerful kick against Lilliana’s head.

That was the final push for Lilliana. The former soldier went on her back with a deaf thud, not even able to complain or groan in pain as she was completely immobile, unable to muster any strength.

The kick crashed right into the side of Lilliana's head while she was down on that one knee of hers, snapping into the woman as that deaf thud sent her down flat on her back. Watching Lilliana lay motionless for a second, Atalante would step forward with a sudden burst of speed as she sought to drop down on top of Lilliana.

Aiming to place her weight on top of the chest of the brunette and pin her down for a crossbody pin. With her full weight draped over that chest and those shoulders, Atalante would reach and arm down to hook one of Lilliana's legs in order to try and go for a firm pin attempt.

She knew she couldn't be too cautious against Lilliana therefore she had to make sure that she had this tough combatant firmly pinned down against the canvas.

That was it. Lilliana lay down on her back while Atalante decided not to give her an instant of respite so she could regain some of her breath and her energy. It wouldn’t come to happen as the Greek draped her body around the former soldier’s in a crossbody pin, securing her shoulders against the mat as she hooked one of her legs.

"ONE!!"

It looked like the match was more than over. Lilliana was completely wasted and even if she managed to jerk her free leg it was only a token resistance. There was just no way the former soldier could buck her body hard enough to pry her rival off and break the pin, so there remained Lilliana, jerking and groaning in frustration.

"TWO!!"

Atalante's arm tightened around that leg as she felt Lilliana jerk and struggle but the referee kept counting and after the second count hit, the referee raised her hand up once more and slapped her palm against the canvas.

" THREEEEE!!!" she called out and then called for the bell, Atalante would let out a huff of relief, releasing that leg of Lilliana's as she would push up to her knees, brushing damp hair out of her own face as she remained on her knees next to Lilliana, huffing and panting a bit.

She'd look down at the brunette and flash her a gentle smile. " Hey..." She spoke out as she would offer her hand to Lilliana, rising up to her feet as she would try and help Lilliana up as well. " Your toughness is second to none, Lilliana Reynolds."

The moment the referee reached the count of three and the bell rang signaling the end of the match and her defeat, Lilliana let out a sigh of frustration as her body finally relaxed under her rival. In her voice there was a slight hint of relief, however. After all, the match had been long and exhausting, and even if the outcome wasn’t the one Lilliana wanted it helped knowing that she had fallen short against a proficient and nice rival as Atalante.

Lilliana lay still with her eyes closed for some seconds, letting defeat sink in. She felt frustrated by how the match ended, but also satisfied with her performance. If she had been defeated that said much more about her rival than about herself. Overall, the former soldier was happy with how she had done. When she opened her eyes she was welcomed by Atalante’s hand and her praise. “Heh, seems like it is second to yours.”, she said with some friendly smile as she accepted Atalante’s help to get up, she needed it after all. Not without effort she got on her feet as she offered her rival a handshake. “That was a very nice match. Congratulations, Atalante. Enjoy your victory, it was well deserved.”

Atalante would shake her head a bit as she felt Lilliana accept her hand. Helping her up towards her feet. "Fair enough, but that doesn't take anything away from your won prowess." Atalante spoke out as she helped the former soldier up to her feet. She would watch Lilliana offer her a handshake and would close her eyes.

Nodding her head she would firmly take a hold of that hand and give Lilliana a handshake. " I'm glad to have met an opponent like you, Lilliana. I hope to face you in the ring again...I'll have to keep training to make sure I won't fall next time we face each other." Atalante said with a light smile on her head.

After which she would break the handshake and start to walk past Lilliana, looking over her shoulder at the visage of the woman whom she'd had a frighteningly even contest with. Smiling to herself and letting out a light hum, before she would leave the ring. So far she was enjoying her time her, there seemed to be plenty of skilled women in this league so far and she couldn't help but discover more.

Sometimes in wrestling it was all about drama: a righteous face facing a powerful and threatening heel, adding tension and some grudge to the atmosphere, but other times only an honest, fight between two women was needed: a bout of both body and willpower like the one Lilliana and Atalante just starred in. There was no acting or character-wise movements, just a fair wrestling match between two proficient and honest wrestlers. The crowd was able to see that and it erupted in cheers for both contestants as they sealed the match with a friendly handshake.

Defeat wasn’t a pleasant feeling for Lilliana, but she wasn’t going to be a sore loser, even more after the wonderful and fair challenge Atalante had shown to be. In some way, this second match of hers felt more satisfactory than her first win, and it was all about having a friendly but yet fierce opponent instead of a treacherous brat like it happened in her debut. Even in victory Atalante proved to be gracious and gave some compliments to Lilliana. “Well, don’t be modest. You were great in there.” As their handshake broke and the Greek started her retreat, Lilliana sent her a final message: “Stay strong and keep training, or the next time we meet I will defeat you!” She was happy to have found a rival like that, and with that in mind Lilliana made her way to the showers.
