Strategy: Hiroko’s goal is typically to overwhelm her opponents with raw power. Earth-shaking slams and devastating strikes are her primary tools, but it’s also not uncommon for her to put her powerful legs and curvy frame to use with crushing scissor holds or even smothers as well. Intricate submission holds or high risk aerial assaults are rare for her. But Hiroko does enjoy being a crowd-pleaser, and while she’ll stick to her bread-and-butter power game as much as she can, it’s not uncommon to see her try things outside her comfort zone if she thinks the crowd will like it.

Oppai Otoshi: Often done as a counter to opponents rushing at her, Hiroko latches her hands onto the breasts of her opponent and lifts them into the air before driving them to the mat with a sitout spinebuster, where she can easily hold onto her foe for a follow-up pin attempt if she wishes. Personality: Hiroko enjoys being the life of the party. She’s outgoing, bubbly, and typically has a very positive attitude in general. She strongly respects veteran wrestlers, especially those whose styles are similar to her own. Some of the best moves in her are even inspired by some of the veteran powerhouses she admires most. Hiroko has a carefree nature and doesn’t always take things as seriously as she maybe should. But she strives to keep improving as a wrestler, and wants little more than to make the fans happy with her work in the ring.

Past/History: Despite growing up a passionate wrestling fan, Hiroko didn’t give many signs that she would pursue the sport herself. The only sports she was involved in were volleyball and cheerleading, through both middle school and high school, and she was otherwise a pretty typical young lady. While not “rebellious” per se, she was a bit of a wild partier during high school. But with that, volleyball and cheerleading largely being the extent of her life outside of school, it came as quite a surprise to her parents when she suddenly told them she wanted to take a shot at becoming a wrestler.

When her parents realized they couldn’t talk her out of it, they were able to talk her into at least going college and getting a degree, so that way she would have something to fall back on in case wrestling didn’t work out. So Hiroko entered the University of Tokyo and the Japanese independent scene at about the same time, with weekdays being focused on her classes and weekends being reserved for wrestling, though a few occasional bigger bookings required her to make exceptions to that rule. Hiroko was having a blast with it all. But, because of how much time she had to devote to her studies, no promotion wanted to sign her to any kind of contract. And because she was making one-off appearances once a week rather than wrestling consistently in front of the same audiences, she was often delegated to the undercards and didn’t build up a particularly large following. So it seemed she was destined to bounce around the indies for the foreseeable future, but little did she know she’d already caught the eye of someone who wanted to change that.

Only a week after Hiroko graduated from the University of Tokyo, she received a call from one of AFW’s talent scouts. He said he had seen her wrestle several times over the last few years, and that he saw potential for her. The scout offered her a chance to join AFW’s Friction brand, hoping she might develop into a homegrown star for the company down the line. Ecstatic for the opportunity, Hiroko wasted no time in accepting, and now sets her sights on following in the footsteps of the wrestlers whose matches had brought her so much joy over the years.

Fun Facts:

-She has a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.

-Hiroko’s uncle is suspected of having Yakuza ties. She rarely sees him because her parents try to stay distant from him for reasons they never fully explained to her, but when Hiroko was old enough to drive he bought her a new Nissan GT-R.

-During the Wrestle Angels days, she was a bit of a closet Beauty Ichigaya fan. Hiroko didn’t agree with a lot of things she did in the ring, but she loved a lot of the moves in Ichigaya’s arsenal, and the perfect combination of beauty and power she seemed to pull off so effortlessly and naturally.

-In between her freshman Winter semester and sophomore Spring semester at the University of Tokyo, she went snowboarding for the first time when some friends brought her along. Despite not being great at it, she had a great time. Hiroko’s improved considerably since then, and goes as often as she can, especially during winter.
