Eka Guramishvili vs. Evelyn Evans

Eka was breathing a little bit more easily now. In a wrestling ring, it never made sense to truly rest, as the opponent was always there to capitalize on any mistake that she made, but by the same token, always being tense was a surefire way to burn through all of your energy. Eka was sitting high atop her opponent, grinding the back of her neck until Evelyn either relented or found a way out of it. Her long dark hair hung over her face as her blue eyes were cast downwards, looking for any sign that her redheaded opponent was showing any signs of getting them closer to the ropes. She looked up for a second, then back down at her opponent.

Unfortunately for the Georgian girl, a second was all that Evelyn needed. In the brief moment that Eka was checking the distance between the wrestling duo and the ropes, Evelyn went for a bump that sent Eka spiraling off the redhead. The dark-haired girl had to make a split second decision. She was out of position, but if she wheeled around quickly enough she may be able to secure a position on top of her opponent.

But no, she couldn't. Eka rolled backwards, a few feet away from her opponent, before she stood up. The Georgian girl was highly confident that she would be able to take down Evelyn and secure a submission with her wrestling pedigree behind her. But first, she would make sure that her opponent was okay. "You are good to continue, yes?" She asked.

Evelyn had managed to slip out of the powerful submission hold. The redhead used her momentum to roll out of the way before getting on her knees, gaining some footing after that always keeping a fistance until she was properly recovered. The Bandit was in fact surprised about how proficient the pretty Eka looked like when dealing with submission holds. Red had underestimated her rival and she paid the price as she had some damage around her neck, but she would survive that. The British only needed to make sure that she didn't let the Georgian lock any more submission holds.

Even if her rival was a very powerful submissionist Eka didn't go for the kill and left Evelyn some window of oportunity she used to regain her footing. The Georgian was nice enough to acknowledge that her hold was hard on the redhead and that escaping from it was a feat itself, she even asked about Evelyn's well going. "Heh, don't worry. You pack quite a grip on you but I'm not done yet. Thanks for the consideration, though. I will return you the favor if I get the chance. Ready to continue?" If her rival showed any kind of signal of agreement with her offer to keep going with the match Evelyn would try to surprise Eka with a couple of sudden knife edge chops against her rival's upper chest. That move was much more a distraction than a real way to get some damage done, but if she succeeded Evelyn would then try and wrap her arms around the Georgian to go for a suplex.

Eka dug her feet in. "Yes, let us keep going." The referee was standing there somewhere, lurking just beyond the periphery of her vision. She could not recall a match that had stopped this early in her memory, or at least not one of her wins she thought with a painful sting. For another second, Eka considered what the redhead was saying. It was nice that she thought that Eka was strong, but it was to her dismay that she was not done yet. The Georgian girl had enough stamina for days, so she knew that she was going to be okay if this match lasted a while. But she didn't know what tricks her redheaded opponent had up her sleeve.

Unluckily for Eka, Evelyn was more than willing to show her. Eka had her hands out, ready to get her mitts on her pretty opponent when Evelyn hit her with the first knife edge chop. The first one rocked her world, causing her to falter back for a second. Another blow came in, and then a third. Her blue eyes were wide with shock and pain, but not nearly to the extent that they would be only a moment or so later. Evelyn wrapped her arms around Eka the same way that Eka wanted to wrap her arms around Evelyn, but the result was all the same.

"Aaah!" Eka cried as she was hammered down to the mat. The raven haired girl bounced for a second before lying to the ground. The sudden change of fortune rendered Eka helpless for a few moments while she tried to recover.

Evelyn tried to assess more the character of her rival in that momentary pause in the match. The Georgian looked quite determined and Lyn now knew that the brunette wrestler could rock some powerful submission moves. Being that not exactly Evelyn’s area of expertise she concluded that grappling should be out of the question for this match. Eka looked cautious in her approach, not sure yet about what the redheas was capable of. “Sensible girl...”, thought the Bandit as she got her knife edge chops landing effectively.

Then, with a quick and nimble move the British got a grip on her rival’s waist and executed a suplex on her. As she got up quickly after it the redhead noticed how the throw had been quite effective, her rival relenting for some instants on the ground in pain and maybe in surprise by the change of pace. Evelyn felt the blood pumping in her veins. She liked getting friendly with her rivals and Eka had been nice to her, showing sportswomanship, but even in friendly terms she liked giving her all in matches. It was some way of showing respect to her rival, so she wouldn’t hold herself until it was over.

Evelyn towered over her still lying rival, deciding that she would act before Eka could properly recover. Making a flashy jump that showcased her flexibility the redhead attempted a powerful legdrop against Eka’s torso. If she managed the move to connect she would immediately go for a pin. She was sure that the Georgian would have more in store for her, but this was more a statement than a finishing move. It was a way of sending a message. Now Eka knew Evelyn meant business and that the redhead wouldn’t go down without fighting back.

Eka was aware of Evelyn looming over her. Something told her that Evelyn was not pausing because she wanted to think on what she was going to get Eka for Christmas. The Georgian girl was doing everything that she could to pull herself together, physically and emotionally, but she was not able to come together in time before the shadow above her started moving. Before anything had even happened, Eka was already steeling herself. It could have been a submission like the one that Eka had just pulled off on Evelyn, but she somehow doubted that they would throw Eka an opponent who had the exact same style as she did.

Sure enough, a leg came across her chest in a hard an abrupt fashion. The wind rushed from her body quickly as Eka was terribly pained. She let out a gasp and half closed her eyes. This was a powerful move, to be sure, but it was not even close to one that would end the match. The few times that she had done it, she had used it as a way to just keep her opponent down while she went for her next submission move.

ONE!

The ref girl counted. Eka kicked out powerfully and then rolled away.

She stood up, and eyed her opponent suspiciously. The Georgian girl wondered if Evelyn seriously thought this was going to keep her down. She let that doubt be known through the look on her face.

Evelyn wanted to make things more even now that the match wasn't on those early stages. It was true that from the very beginning the redhead had been more or less against the ropes, but she could feel some kind of comeback starting as she hit Eka with a legdrop md attempted a pin.

The redhead was fully aware that those moves weren't intended to end the match, in fact Eka managed to break the pin after the "One" count, but now the Bandit had sent a message: even if it looked like the brunette was physically superior the smaller woman knew how to fight back. Evelyn couldn't get the thought out of her head: the Georgian wrestler looked like a very pragmatic person that judged her rivals by the skills they showed in combat. The redhead couldn't help but think that her rival wasn't taking her entirely seriously, and the look on her face as Eka rose to her feet helped this thought sink on her mind.

Evelyn wasn't a proud person, but she liked to be taken seriously while in combat so she decided to keep going until her rival would notice her. She would rush to her rival while she still was getting up, sending her with an Irish Whip against the ropes and then started running against the opposite ropes to rebound and attempt a running dropkick against Eka.

Eka planted her feet. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the fact that Evelyn was charging at her now, just as she was not sure what to make of the fact that Evelyn had tried to pin her after just one move. Her stance was a wide one. As a natural daughter of the Greco-Roman style of wrestling, Eka was always looking for the takedown and thus always expected that of her opponent. Those two factors combined to confuse Eka, as instead of shooting for a takedown the Georgian girl was sent bounding towards the ropes.

When she came galloping back, Evelyn was running directly at her. The redhead soared through the air, but Eka was ready. She grabbed the outstretched leg as she stepped to the side. Despite how long she had spent inside a wrestling ring, she didn't have much preparation for what to do when she had a leg in her arms. So she did what felt intuitive to her, which was to swing as hard as possible and see if she could throw her opponent using only her leg.

Evelyn was happy about how she was slowly starting to mount a comeback against Eka. The Georgian woman had underestimated her at first but now the British was starting to feel comfortable with how the match was going, in a much more back and forth motion for some minutes. As she raced towards her Irish whipped rival Red thought how that dropkick was going to make some real damage and tilt the scales on her favor.

But Evelyn couldn’t have predicted what was going to come. Eka had shown that she was able of quick thinking and being so inventive, but the unorthodox move that just happened caught the redhead completely off-guard. Grabbing her by the leg and tossing her like she was some ragdoll, Red hit the mats hard. She tried her best to get free from Eka’s grip and roll over, regaining her footing. Something was different now: the Georgian was on her mind, she had been able to foresee some of her moves and now Evelyn was starting to feel hesitant against this rival who looked to always be one step ahead of her.

Eka was a tornado. While she wasn't the weakest girl that this particular federation had ever seen, she was not the strongest either. As her body was going through the move, her mind took a few seconds to catch up. Of all the moves that she had in her arsenal, this one, this move that she had never done before and didn't know if she had the strength to pull off, was the one that had come to her. Her dad and her wrestling coach back home may have been proud of her earlier, but she was sure that they would be watching the television with their jaws on the floor after what the Georgian girl had just done.

Eka, for what it was worth, was nothing short of ecstatic. "Woo!" She shouted as she raised one hand high in the sky. The audience were bewildered by Eka's emergence as a power wrestler, but duly applauded with great fervor after a second or two. Eka took their energy and her own energy and channeled it forward straight down onto her opponent. Back when she was doing Greco-Roman wrestling, half the techniques she learned were pinning techniques. While they were certainly helpful, she didn't want to act like Evelyn and go for it too early.

So instead, she went for another submission. The Georgian girl grabbed at Evelyn's leg. From there, she tried to get on top of her opponent to keep her down while she went for a quick kneebar. That would surely get the kicks to slow down pretty considerably.

While Eka had been on a roll since the very beginning of the match, Evelyn was struggling more than expected to find her center. Groaning in pain from the mats after the last takedown the Georgian managed to pulled off on her the redhead shook her head. What the hell was just going on? It was as if she was a very different person. Of course along her career in indie wrestling leagues she had her good share of defeats, but even in those the Bandit felt the learning process. In that match she was just being handed over by her stronger rival, no lessons to learn from that beating.

And it looked like that bad streak wasn’t going to be over soon. As she was lying on her belly on the mat Evelyn noticed her rival going on top of her. From that position nothing good could come for her so she panicked a little bit. In the end Eka decided to go for a kneebar. Evelyn emited a low groan of pain as the submission hold was locked. It was true that given her experience as a gymnast that kind of hold would elicit a lot of less pain that what Eka would aim for, so Evelyn focused all of her strength in bucking her body with enough force to break the hold. She had to start her comeback, she just had to do it.
