Athena Wonders vs. Stone - Heroine Worship

So, the good thing was that Stone’s little trick worked. She was able to get some space and push Athena off. Success on that end. She even managed to do some damage to this mountain of a woman.

But it wasn’t a victory. At least, not one she had any real opportunity to savor.

As she started to rise up, Athena was already all over her, dropping down and lifting her up. She found herself hoisted in the air, kept aloft on a pair of strong shoulders, dragged along for a ride she had little chance of getting off of - not in the way she would want, at any rate. She tried to struggle in the fireman’s carry, but she was still winded from that last attack, not at her 100%. She’d catch her breath in a moment, but she strongly suspected she wasn't to get that moment easily.

Successfully lifting Stone up and putting her on her shoulders, Athena would display her strength by parading the other woman around, making sure to make the whole experience for Stone as uncomfortable as possible. Then, she would bring herself to the center of the ring, where she would stand tall before attempting to bring Stone down into the mat with a fireman's carry slam, throwing her forward and sending her down into the mat back first.

And not enough with just that, a moment after slamming Stone down into the mat, Athena would follow it up by jumping into the air before attempting to bring herself back first onto her opponent's body, hitting her with a senton. From there, she would try to go for a pin, hooking one of her legs as she would maintain her position on top of her opponent.

Once again, Stone was reacquainted with the strange sensation of being lifted up, something she could never quite get used to. Being whipped around the ring was one thing, she was no stranger to being beaten in a match, but being slung around with ease like this was beyond the pale - usually, that was what she did to her opponent. Having that thrown back at her was a new feeling, and not all that welcome of one.

She didn’t have to stay up there long, though, which was nice. But she was brought down hard, which was less nice. And Athena hit her with a senton right after, which was far less nice.

That knocked the wind clean out of Stone and made her jackknife, a position that changed quickly, as she was drawn into a tight pin.

”1…!”

At first, Stone was still, though it wasn’t because she couldn’t kick out. She had energy, she just wasn’t sure it would be enough at first, her body still reeling from the impact. There wouldn’t be any time for a doover like this. She had to get her escape right the first time, no other way.

”2…!”

When the second impact hit Stone exploded and burst out of the pin all at once, quickly flopping over to her chest right after to make sure she was safe. Closer, far closer than she would’ve liked, and she was vulnerable, now, too...but not pinned. There was that, at least.

Right after throwing Stone down into the mat with a fireman's carry slam, Athena then landed on top of her with a senton. Soon after that, she went for the pin, and she listened to the referee counting for the pin. She wasn't sure if that could do the trick, but she would try regardless.

And then, at the count of two, Stone managed to break the pin, and Athena was pushed off of her opponent as Stone rolled over onto her front. Looking at the direction of her opponent, she could tell that her opponent seemed weakened, and she would try to capitalize on this as she would rise back up, reaching out to Stone to pull her up alongside her.

This time, Athena planned to lock Stone into a rear waist lock, clasping her hands together on her opponent's stomach. She was readying herself for her next move, which was a German suplex. Breathing out evenly, she would then attempt to hoist her opponent up, throwing her over and sending her down into the mat.

This wasn’t going too well. Stone could admit that. It wasn’t like she had much of a choice, really - the reality was smacking her in the face.

That last pin had been close - way, way too close for her liking, with Athena really taking it out of her after the impact. She needed to regain control of this match, or at least put it back on an even keel.

Unfortunately, it seemed like Athena wasn’t of a mind to let that happen anytime soon, as she pulled her up and slapped her into a rear waist lock, and a tight one at that. A German Suplex was coming, and with this woman’s strength and Stone already being so close to a pinnable state, it was a move she couldn’t afford to eat. Action was needed. Strong action.

As she was lifted up for the move, Stone jerked about and swung her arm around, attempting to clock Athena in the face with a wild elbow and stop her halfway, banking on the element of surprise.

Athena had already set Stone up for a German suplex, and after securing her grip around her opponent's waist. She had shown it repeatedly that she was capable of lifting her opponent up without problem, and she would do it again for this move, but when she lifted Stone up to execute the German suplex, Athena suddenly took an elbow strike to her face.

"UGHH!!"

This somewhat thwarted her suplex attempt as she would immediately let go of Stone's waist. There might be momentum from her slightly lifting Stone up, but her German suplex was thwarted by the elbow shot, and Athena staggered back, bringing a hand to her face. Knowing that she might be in danger, she would try to prepare herself for what would be coming next now that she had failed to execute the German suplex on Stone.

Considering all the weight and power that was on display with Athena and Stone combined, it was a small miracle that they didn’t crash worse than they did. The middle of a suplex like that? Coming down that hard, that much power to work with? Even if Stone interrupted the attack, there was no guarantee it would keep things from ending up bad. Perhaps even worse than they would’ve been if she’d just taken it.

There was precious little time to ponder that, however. She had opportunities to seize. Quick.

The second Stone’s feet hit the floor, she took off in a run, bolting toward the ropes at full speed. She spun about, hit the ropes, then came back to her opponent at a complete stride. When she was close enough, she ducked down and pounced, turning her body into a human missile as she sought to bring Athena down with a spear.
