ADMIN MEMORANDUM - Back Up Your Characters

Greetings -

The admins and moderators of the site, including myself, have been having slight issues recently with forumotion regarding the sexual nature of the content of the site. We've been doing our best to reach a peaceable solution to this so we can continue using this site at our leisure, but just in case matters do not unwind in our favor, we've decided to suggest that all members save and back up your character rosters, member blogs, and whatever threads you feel are worth saving in the extreme case that forumotion shuts down on us without giving us proper warnings. Do bear in mind we are trying our best to not let that happen, and this is still an unlikely scenario. But one we suggest you prepare for just in case we need to migrate to another site.

We're also in the process of creating a centralized Google Doc. for AFW as a place for people to save their profiles and whatever else they need if they have no word processing software to help with that, and it would also serve as a place to relay information from the mods to notify people of the new forum and any other information. We'll keep you updated as events unfold, but if you hear no further news on the subject, consider the matter settled and all is well. If you have any questions you're free to do so in this thread, or ask us in private.

So what would be alts for AFW is things go south?

jcink allows lewd I think, but you have to pay for that. it's like 80 bucks a year.

We're not quite at that junction yet. But we'll start looking at other options if it's determined we have no other choice but to migrate.

If we bought hosting and a domain name we could set up a phpbb3 forum easily enough

It's been a few years since you transfered. People likely came and went from forumotion, and now, everyone in charge isn't on board with AFW :/

It's my speculation though, don't quote me on that.

I guess that makes sense. That event was like... 4-5 years ago in 2014 I think.

We survived that im sure the content will survive again but im all for backups. I have a lot of memories and old threads i still read.

Did they mention any particular content that might need to be purged?
