Johanna Vogel vs. Vanessa York

It was good to be back in Japan.

That was the main thought going through Vanessa’s head as she leaned back against a turnbuckle, in the ring, Heavy Metal Kings still blaring in the background. As much as she hated to admit it, she’d missed the atmosphere of the Friction ring in the past year. The roaring crowd, the bright lights, the smell of sexual excretions from whatever fuckery had gone down in the previous match. The whole experience, the whole scene, all of it.

That wasn’t too say that she’d spent the past year or so doing nothing but lazing around, far from it. She’d taken the time to go back home and reconnect with her daughter, with the two of them taking a ‘working trip’ through Europe. Wrestling matches in different companies with different opponents in different rings every other week. Seeing the sights, building up her reputation, gaining more and more experience. It was a good time, day in and day out, made all the better with the only family she had.

But it wasn’t profitable, at least not as much as she would’ve liked. No, for that, she had to come back to the biggest show on the planet Earth: the AFW.

Her time in the league had been mixed, experiencing wins and losses in roughly equal measure, making good money but not really advancing. This time, though, she was of a mind to change that. Nothing big, but the idea of making a run at the Entropy Title appealed.

One step at a time, though. For now, her main focus needed to be on her opponent for the night. A new girl, someone she had no clue about, but she wasn’t complaining. A good win would be the perfect way to kick her new stride off.

This was it. Her first match. Her first normal match too. No gimmicks, no tricks, nothing just to spice things up. Just the chance for AFW’s newest star to finally shine.

Not that Johanna Vogel has anything against gimmick matches. She has fought in some of them before in her old promotion. But such matches tend to come towards newcomers just as an excuse to throw two beautiful women into a match. It would just be a throw-away match, one that somebody would glance over. And that would not fly with this particular newcomer.

Which is why this set up was perfect for Johanna. Finally, management has recognized her arrival as an opportunity to push their next star in the making, amongst all the other girls that would no doubt show up and never get anywhere in the league. It didn’t matter who her opponent is going to be, the German did not particularly care. This was her time now and she is going to show her coming stardom with her performance to the fans, to the cameras and to the administration that is watching. All she had to do was dismantle some wrestler they had hanging around, doing nothing and destroy her like the meat to a hungry wolf.

Shouldn’t be hard.

The rhythmic music would blare through the speakers, one that the crowd would certainly not recognize or could put a person to. Unlike most, Johanna didn’t need the stagehand to signal her that it's her time to go. Rather, the German would push past him, emerging to into the presence of her screeching fans with purposeful, yet sultry steps that matched to the beat. Once on the stage, she looked around at the bigger arena, the cap that she has gotten from beating some woman covered her gaze from the redhead standing in the ring. All of a sudden, with a knowing smile, she would spin on her bare toes before stopping and flipping into a too-perfect, too-athletic side cartwheel before she rushed down the ramp, thriving on the cries that came to her for the display.

If that impressed them, they would be thrilled soon.

Hanna would hop up onto the ropes beside the turnbuckle to take a seat and pull her phone out of the edge of her black one-piece, holding it up in front of her and winking, two fingers up for a photo she could take for her Instagram page. Once the showing of a true millennial was done, the brunette turned to rise onto the turnbuckle and regard the crowd, before flipping off backward, landing nimbly on her bare feet.

Then, the German switched to business, especially standing face to face with her opponent for the evening. Her smirk slowly faded in favour of cold focus, as she stretched her hands over her head, limbering up. “No hard feelings over what’s about to happen to you.” She would warn to the redhead, all confidence.

Vanessa knew this was going to be a pain in the ass after looking at Johanna for five seconds. Not even a question in her mind.

It was written all over her entrance. Flash was nothing new in wrestling, mind you, and traveling Europe had gotten Vanessa used to some of the weirder intros, but Johanna? Well, you could tell a lot about a wrestler from the way she came down to the ring, and the clear goal from this one was to be noticed. It was all over the nifty moves she showed off, with that cute little cartwheel and those wiggling hips. All too clear from the clothes she wore, a leotard that could only have been less subtle if it had red arrows pointing at her butt. Oh, and the bitch had the nerve to check her phone and take a selfie before she came to the ring.

Yes. Yes, Vanessa was going to get a lot of enjoyment out of rearranging the nose on this one.

As if she needed more confirmation, the woman had to go and speak, driving the nails even further into the coffin. Vanessa just smirked in reply, and added on a sigh. ”You’re a pretty one.” She cracked her knuckles. ”Probably won’t look too pretty with a black eye.”

”Okay, okay…” The referee got between them and shooed them apart, looking to start this match off soon. Vanessa, her part, took a step back and raised her fists, getting into a tight defensive stance to kick this off. There was no way to really know what this woman would be starting off with, so she decided it was best to come off playing it safe. At least for the outset.

In her mind, Johanna was simply doing what she can to stand out from the rest of the forgettable trash that passes through the curtains. Vanessa might not have to care but for Hanna, this was important. Stretching her arms over her head, she made sure to get some of the kinks out before her debut. All the while standing right up to the tall redhead. Who certainly didn't care much for her entrance, but Johanna wasn't looking for her approval.

A haughty smirk as she shifted her weight on one leg to the other, flexing her quads and calves, making sure the crowd noticed, the evident power that is hidden underneath the soft flesh. The legs of a gymnast. And they were nothing to scoff at. She smirked back at Vanessa's retort, showing she certainly wasn't intimidated by this tough showing. "Yeah right." She would say, all the while the ref got between them before they would start this match off. Green eyes flicked from them to the taller redhead as the bell would ring. "So. Let's." she agreed before she dried her hands off on her own bare thighs and squatted down to start circling Vanessa.

So who did she have here? A striker? Seems like it considering her stance. A trickster who got by with lesser skills but greater intelligence, or someone who was merely tall, quick and knows how to use her skills to the best of her ability?

Hanna looked to answer the question, and she dove in close to Vanessa, feinting as if she would try for a kick, but diving in closer instead to extend a knee towards her gut.

Cocky. Woman of few words, though. Normally, that was an aspect that Vanessa could’ve appreciated, but with Johanna she got the distinct impression that it was less about her being curt and more about her just not thinking her opponent was worth the trouble of full sentences. Someone needed a lesson in manners.

”Let’s.”

The referee gave them one final, cautious look, before she stepped back and called for the bell, kicking this all off in earnest. Now that they were underway, Vanessa switched over to full-on fight mode, taking a brief second to look her opponent over. An easy thing to do, since Johanna wasn’t doing much to hide her body. Long, powerful legs? Check. This woman was no stranger to a treadmill, Vanessa could bet. Lax stance, though, couldn’t get a good read on her style.

She would be able to witness it firsthand soon, though, as Johanna came charging in, confirming Vanessa’s suspicious when she led with her legs. Figuring it better to be safe, Vanessa did a backstep, moving just far enough away to avoid the fiented kick and the knee it was hiding. She didn’t stay back for long, however. Her feet had only just touched the floor before she leaped back in and threw out a shot from the edge of her range, aiming a jab at Johanna’s face. Specifically, her right eye.

Nothing wrong with having confidence. And Johanna has a lot of it in spades. Course, the german wanted to get this fight started, there is a lot of opportunities for her to play to the crowd, get some support her way. But she figured the best way to do that is to land the first strike. And that is what the brunette is going to do.

With eagerness, she came towards the redhead after the referee would give the final check, a feint wasn't a bad idea as her legs flexed, all before leading in with the knee. Pretty simple, would allow Hanna to be pretty close to Vanessa and follow up.

Apparently, Hanna would be too eager as she found herself underestimating Vanessa's skill. Choosing to fight in her range, using her longer reach. It's to be expected for a taller opponent but one that Hanna didn't clock until the punch came shooting towards her. Which the German would see, though only able to tilt her head back and towards her left, Vanessa's reach would allow her to catch the cheekbone and eliciting a yelp from Hanna. A tactical retreat will have to do, for now, stepping back out of range, though this wasn't the start that Johanna was looking for.

And right on point. Vanessa couldn’t have asked for more out of a punch - nice, crips, and it landed on target. It didn’t do much damage, no, but it didn’t have to - the whole point was to tag Johanna and start making her skittish, and it did the trick.

The audience collectively winced at the impact, and rightfully so, as it was more than enough to put her opponent in defensive mode. Vanessa could hold back a smirk as Johanna backstepped on those pretty little feet of hers. Probably rethinking a few things now, considering her approach. Smart. Wouldn’t save her, though.

Moving in fast, Vanessa took a long stride, putting those long legs of hers to good use. Looking to mix it up, she repeated her motion from before, throwing out that same punch - or what would look like it at first glance. Instead of the full extension, though, she pulled it back halfway, a feint and dipped low to throw out her real attack, coming at Johanna’s stomach with a rising uppercut.

Johanna believed that she had things figured out. That will no doubt backfire on her. 

Though it was a bit stupid of her, going straight at a striker herself. Could have been stuck like a deer at headlights but she would end up getting a punch out of it, courtesy of Vanessa herself. Great. At the very least it wasn't some powerful attack, not that the jab was anything to scoff at. Most likely a boxer? That's one thing she could guess out of many others.

But it's one that she would go for now as Vanessa came straight towards her, looking to bring the momentum to her side. No time wasted. Nice. Could bring a nice showing for her debut. For now, she has to deal with the redhead as she looked to go for another punch. Or at least from first glance as Vanessa came in with the same approach Hanna did. Only that it's punches. Just to avoid some plagiarism.

Two can play that game. And the German would move just as the feint is drawn back and she dipped low. Though instead of jumping back and coming back in again, Johanna would instead hop to the side of the redhead, enough to avoid the gut-wrenching uppercut, before jumping up, her trailing right leg swinging up for a jumping roundhouse kick right towards her face.

Vanessa was confident in her own abilities, but she wasn’t blind. Even though she hadn’t taken any damage yet and planned to keep it that way, she would be remiss if she didn’t take note of the way her opponent was moving and realize the potential danger behind those legs of hers. While her own were nothing to sneeze at, Johanna’s looked like a pair of tree trunks. A kicker, if the stance was anything to go on. And she didn’t like her prospects if she wound up between them, either.

Had to be careful with this one. Had to be smart.

The reason why become apparent soon enough. Vanessa had been expecting her opponent to draw back after the punch, make some distance between them, but that turned out to not be the case. Instead she sidestepped, moved to her flank, avoided the uppercut that was meant for her face entirely. Bad enough by itself, but it also meant that she was open. Wide open. A fact that her foe was quick to exploit.

Vanessa was able to get her arm up in time, just out of sheer reflex, and even that only did her so much good. Johanna’s kick moved like lightning and struck like thunder, blasting apart her guard and slammed into the side of her head. She didn’t fall, but she did stumble, and she needed a couple of precious seconds to correct and regain footing.

Yeah. Those legs were going to be a problem.

Already the audience picked up something interesting between the two, something that was plenty obvious just from the get-go. And Hanna picked it up as the two fought. Now she was starting to realise why management pits these two women together. A true clash of styles. Both complete opposites, perhaps in every way. An angle like that certainly draws more viewers.

Johanna certainly felt the power with the last punch Vannessa threw and she didn't wish to witness the true potential of a much more harder and clean hit from those fists, as much as she could help it. The way the Red Queen moved looked to be a boxer. So it was perhaps easy to deduce what is going to happen next.

The German deftly moved away from Vannessa's salvo before launching something as a way of bringing payback to the mature woman. Although it hit her arm instead of her face, the power did more to rock the redhead and smash her guard into the side of her head. Did cause her to stumble too. So that's good.

But she wouldn't be done with her assault. No, this would spur the young brunette to deliver more. Lightly bouncing on the balls of her feet after landing from the jumping kick, almost dancing in the air as she chases down Vanessa before planting one foot to the ground and sending a low roundhouse kick right towards the side of her thigh once she got in range. Should that land as predicted, Johanna would leap up to swing her right leg up for a higher version of the same kick. Not too high, however, aiming just underneath her ribs.
