Characteristics

Personality: Tsubaki is a fairly quiet and reserved young woman. She most of the time speaks in a very calm tone and only raises her voice if she panics, or is angered enough to give up her reserved facade. Seeing her laugh or socialize is quite a rare occurrence, as she thinks jokes and fun are just a waste of time. She is quite vengeful and holds grudges over a very long time, especially if someone harms or insults her clan. Said grudges can sometimes lead her to very impulsive decision which she will see through to the end.


Past/History: Tsubaki grew up as part of a Yakuza family. Unlike many other Yakuza, her family followed a strict honor code and cooperated with the police. Her mother was a businesswoman and her father, the head of the clan, had his own MMA gym. In this gym, he trained his children Arata and Tsubaki to fend for themselves. However Arata quit the sport when he got older, to have more time for studying, which his father begrudgingly allowed. Tsubaki’s father had at one point also held the title of world champion, so expectations were high for his daughter to do the same. However Tsubaki seemed for the longest time to be stuck in her regional amature league, where she would lose against the same people over and over again. But every time she did, it was closer and closer until she finally overcame her competition in the amature league and turned pro. Her career as a pro started off on the same foot as in the amature league. With her seemingly running into a wall over and over again until it eventually gave in and she rose up on the ranking. Just before she got the chance to take on the current national champion of Japan, her father lost his gym to a attack by a rival Yakuza clan. When it burned down, it didn’t only break the old man’s heart, but also took away Tsubaki’s chance for a title shot. This was only the start of a spiral of bad events, orchestrated by the Kurosawa Clan, to leave Tsubaki’s family in a massive debt to them. Apparently her father had once beaten a member of the Kurosawa Clan in a fight, despite being bribed to lose. In all these years they had held onto their grudge against the Himura clan and developed a scheme to ruin them financially.
