AFW 2019 PPV News
Hullo hullo, it is I, your favorite mod Tai, to bring you more news for AFW for the new year of 2019!
New PPV Rules: Over the last few years, its unfortunately become commonplace for a la number of members (not all, but a few) to wait until the last minute to make their PPV plans. This leads to them having very little build up storyline before the event and then for the PPV match itself to go unfinished. In the case for championship matches and storylines, this can be exceptionally problematic.
What we would like to encourage people to do, is start planning their ppv matches months in advance. For Champions (if you don't already have future plans), you should start deciding on who your next opponent will be about a month into the latest PPV match (eg. Avalanche started in December, in January you should start looking for the opponent you want to set up a storyline with over the next few months)... This gives you plenty of time to set up, change and play out what ever storyline you decide upon over the following months.
We hope that this will help members to creating more engaging and lengthy storylines.. Which will of course benefit the climax match at a PPV, making the whole event feel grander (and hopefully also encouraging the completion of said match)
The mods will always be here to help you if you struggle coming up with story ideas or have problems finding an opponent. Just ask and we will help as much as possible... We will even give you a reminder nearer to the date if you are a champion and have not yet started your storyline. However, if you do NOT set up a storyline in advanced (despite our reminders) and ask for a match (let's say) less then a month away from the PPV... You may find that you do not have a spot, or that you might have to drop the belt at the PPV, or be limited to just a promo. But really, these things will only happen if you were to intentionally do nothing regarding storylines until the last minute. If you make attempts to set up a storyline, but something occurs, like your partner leaves, or you end up busy from RL issues, we will understand and will work with you to help you out.
Plenty of people on here already DO plan things well in advance, so for most this won't be a problem at all... Even so, this is currently going to be on a trial basis. If it works this year and people like it, we'll keep it in effect. If people reject this and insist on planning things last minute, we might go back to that or try something different.
So just to summarize, the new PPV rules are:
1. Plan your PPV matches and stories months in advance
2. Inform the mods of what those plans are and get approval
3. Start said stories soon after and build to the PPV.
4. Those who choose to NOT put the effort into doing this will be unlikely get into the PPV or may have to settle for a dark match/promo
5. While we are putting emphasis on our champions with all of this, this rule can apply to every AFW member. If you want into the PPVs, plan things out as early as possible and create a storyline
While we understand this is a change, we feel this is a fair, as you have plenty of time in advance, and only those who literally choose to do nothing for the entire duration will be left off the ppv card.
On an additional note: If you're a champion and you have other people you want to defend your belt against outside of any current PPV storylines... Feel free to do so; Infact we *encourage* you to make little one off title matches outside of the main PPVs. If you prefer matches to creating these long storylines, a couple of defenses in between the PPV may suffice as a substitue for a lengthy storyline
New PPVs!: That is right folks, in addition to Summer Splash and Avalanche, there will be two new ppvs this year! First up will be the previously announced return of Tension vs Friction! So far, we have not yet decided on a date for this show, (current debate is April vs September) but it will be arriving, and we are all looking forward to seeing what unique Champion vs Champion and special Friction vs Tension themed matches will occur!
BUT THAT IS NOT ALL! Coming in November-December this year will be...(drum roll please....I said please...well fuck you then.)
...
TENSION SHOWDOWN 4!
Yes, that is right folks, you heard it here first, after a break in 2018, Tension's ppv Showdown will be returning for the 4th round! With the stack of talent in Tension right now, I personally have zero doubt that it'll end up being the single best Showdown Tensions ever had!
So that is your news folks! Start planning your PPV stories NOW!
