Strategy: Just like with her hobby, she has an obsession with breaking things down to their base components to better understand what makes them tick. Her stamina and power lend well to her outlasting many who would throw themselves at her. As a result she tends to work a slow and steady match, whittling her opponents down with strange grappling techniques or letting them wear themselves out trying to put her down. Her style and speed lack refinement as she doesn't put much effort into her training. She doesn't treat wrestling as a job but rather a chance to get out every so often and dust off her old fighting skills. Valentina isn't at all concerned with an outcome of a match when in solo competition unless specifically directed by her benefactor to seek a specific end to a match. For the most part she works as a strong unshakable core, bringing the muscle to her team with Noomi.

Personality: Valentina is a curious case. Many find her to be strange and a bit eccentric. She doesn't really speak unless spoken to, and quietly goes about doing her own thing without calling much attention to herself. She would rather be in a workshop tinkering on gadgets all day than ever speaking with another human being. Stone faced and serious looking, she has a tendency to either intimidate or creep people out who are unacquainted with her. She isn't very concerned with her public image, wearing what is comfortable and doing whatever she enjoys rather than pandering to someone else. Her career interests in wrestling is more of a passing fancy for getting physical on occasion than a preferred profession. Her paycheck however fuels her hobbies and working with her current benefactor has opened the doors for her to tinker with some of the newest and most interesting bits of tech she has ever gotten her hands on.

When it comes to messing with technology or working underneath the hood of a car however, she becomes someone almost entirely different. Those who watched her Netflix series might recall a more charismatic woman. Expressive, emotive, and all together excited at the prospect of two constructs ripping each other to bits. When she has her interests peaked most of her stoic facade washes away replaced with an almost childlike glee. The fastest way to her heart isn't cooking, flowers, or even chocolates. It's a new commercial drone with high carry capacity, hybrid motors, or the newest smart phone. To those who cater to her tastes, she is rather warm and affectionate towards, though much to the other person's detriment. She sometimes forgets how strong she is when clapping them on the shoulder or giving hugs.


Past/History:

Born and raised within the Dominican Republic, Valentina was lost in the shuffle growing up. The middle child among five siblings, her own real defining feature was that she was the only girl. It didn't amount for much though, more or less raised as one of the boys in almost every aspect. Her mother passed away while she was still young, too young to really remember anything about her. The burden of supporting the family fell onto her father, whose work kept him from ever really being around to raise his children. Her abuela was the driving force for most of her life, the only real woman role model she had. A tough as nails woman who was dead set in her ways and almost always had Valentina's back when her brothers were giving her a hard time. Things were often times chaotic, but it was home... for awhile anyway.

One day she was pulled from school by her father and told that she and two of her brothers were being sent to America to live with an uncle she never met. She hadn't wanted to go, she didn't want to leave behind her friends and her abuela. It didn't seem fair, especially since her older brothers were being allowed to stay. Had she done something wrong to deserve this? Tooth and nail she protested, dragging her heels and moaning up a storm until the day finally came for her to go. To her surprise, it wasn't her father who brought her to the airport, but a bunch of well dressed men in suits. They kept telling her that her father was "doing the right thing" and that this was "What was best for her and her brothers". It would be until more recently that she finally would come to understand what had happened and that was only due in large part to her more recent connections.

In America things were difficult. She had become a problem child without any real guidance. Skipping school regularly or getting into fights when she attended. She went through a phase, especially in high school where she hated the world. Nobody understood her or what her life was like, and everyone around her would just betray her in time. That was until her sophomore year. Valentina took part in a trade course at her school, specifically for mechanical engineering. The classes were meant for college prep, but she found a real outlet for all her pent up rage. The idea of disassembling something and working it all back together better and more efficiently was a challenge she didn't know was lacking until it presented itself to her.

She began to fully engage at school. Using all her free time to delve into anything and everything she could get her hands on. The more tech savvy she became, the more she wanted to share what she was doing with others. She wasn't ready to reach out to her classmates... no, there was another way. She started a YouTube channel devoted entirely to her love of motor vehicles. Her early videos were all terrible. Shot on a cell phone camera, documenting her projects in her trade school courses. In time though, she expanded her videos into part time work at a legitimate car mechanic shop. She made tutorials for engine rebuilds, proper car detailing, and tons of good tips for people doing work on their own vehicles on a budget. What started out as a small unknown channel got a substantial boost when a larger creator plugged her channel to their audience growing her fanbase exponentially. As her channel grew she found companies reaching out to her, giving her sponsorship deals to review their products which only helped to fund her operation.

She expanded from motor vehicles into a full on technology channel focused on product reviews, cheap alternatives and do it yourself guides from building and programming drones to explosive stress tests. It became a growing trend that she would blow something up every episode which drew in a more casual fanbase who were just looking for spectacle. Her popularity and willingness to work with an incredibly low budget earned her a small Netflix series called "Killbox" where she worked along side guests to build battle robots to go head to head with one another in a small boobytrap laden arena. It ran for a total of two sessions (52 episodes) before the show was cancelled quietly.

While many have speculated the reason for the show’s cancellation, the actual reason remains a mystery to all but the executives at Netflix. The most popular theory was it having to do with the current political climate surrounding Valentina herself. Many claimed she was teaching people how to create spying and explosive devices in her earlier videos, lambasting her with out of context clips from her channel. Heat from mainstream media as well as advertisers rapidly pulling out from deals with YouTube caused a massive shift in the site for her. Many of her old videos were rapidly demonetized, then later mass issue takedown notices that would find her channel shut down completely for months until the issue was able to be rectified.

When she was able to restore her account, it came at the cost of some of her most popular videos. Her attempts to reboot her channel were treading water as her account status gave her poor site exposure and nearly all of her videos regardless of the content was immediately flagged, demonetized and suppressed, making her career a slow but steady money sink to continue to pump out quality content on her own without the backing of a larger company behind her.

It was at her lowest time someone she had collaborated with in the past reached out to her with an offer. Wrestling, of all things. While initially not keen on the idea, her other revenue springs were fast running dry. She accepted the proposal, being fast tracked into the AFW by her benefactor. For the next half of a year she was made to train up hard to familiarize herself with the workings of the business and expanding her preexisting fighting knowledge to better compete. Slapped together at the request of her benefactor with another internet content creator, she find herself in a very unlikely team.


Fun Facts:

A Newer Shinier Model: Valentina is obsessed with taking things apart and making extreme modifications. While this almost exclusively applies to her work with various bits of technology, she had, on occasion applied it to people as well. She likes to really look into and unlock all the little mysteries in persons and objects to maximize potential yield. This can naturally come off as obtrusive when it relates to a person, bordering on what some may consider to be stalking.

Mad Science: She is always building or programming something, though some things she creates have questionable use. Overly elaborate Rube Goldberg machines to do simple or mundane tasks are a guilty pleasure of hers. She tends to overthink issues when automation is concerned, preferring to keep human variables out of most any invention calculation.

Unintended Side Effects: Her work on her show lent itself well to her talents and helped to expand upon her knowledge. While her internet career was taking a nosedive, she got a lot of work in the practical effects field for low budget movies. It helped to scratch that itch to blow something up that she was sorely lacking.

I'm Going to Disney World: She loves this place... though admittedly it's just to see the newest animatronics they have on display.
