Yayuuki "Lucky" Sakura vs Vespa: Stepping on a Wasp's Nest!

Vespa blinked in surprise as Lucky seemed to completely collapse over her headbutt. Vespa was far from one hundred percent, and though her pride as a soldier would never allow her to admit it, the headbutt was a desperate, last minute attack the didn’t have much power behind it. The Invader seemed completely devastated by the attack, looking like her brain had short circuited.

Vespa really didn’t know what to do, stunned by the incredible turn of events. Was this the will of the Queen? Had the invader displeased her in some way, and used Vespa as a tool for vengeance? No, her Queen was not so petty. Then why had it been so effective?

Lucky seemed to answer her question for her. The phrase “Low Blow” froze Vespa heart like ice.

“Wa?….Was that?…Was that a low blow?” she asked in a shaky voice.

The Queen’s guards were supposed to be honorable soldiers, fit not only for combat, but even for chivalrous affairs. They were strong not only in body but in their morals, their loyalty to the Queen was the only thing that could top that. One with dishonorable morals, who cheated, stole, and used their might for their own gain was someone who was a stain on their Queen’s dignity. Vespa couldn’t help but think that she may have just smudged her Royalties pristine honor.

“No, w-wait! It was an accident! I didn’t mean- well what I meant to do was-” Vespa seemed to be short circuiting, turning from Lucky to the referee randomly. She looked extremely uncomfortable, almost comedic. “I’ll just…continue with the spar.”

Vespa began to walk over to the dazed invader, but then stopped in her tracks once again. Was she making the same mistake twice? Hitting a downed, confused opponent was a dishonorable tactic, one that would never befit a royal soldier and knight to the Queen. Perhaps she even owed the Invader a free punch? No, certainly not. It would render the test null and void, Vespa could not take this girls progress away from her. Still, she felt conflicted.

Then, an idea popped in her head. One that surly came from the royalty, it was so perfect!

“Listen well Invader!” Vespa said in a proud voice, her posture like that of a knight, “If you rise, you will be gifted the full force of my Sting. If you truly think you can withstand such a gift, then rise up and accept my challenge. If you do not, stand down. No further pain will come to you.”

Vespa would back up a bit to give herself some room. The Invader should have had more than enough time to recover from Vespa’s shameful attack, but if not, Vespa was a patient solider. She would wait until her foe was of sound mind.

Vespa's pride seemed wounded at the very prospect of hitting below the belt or, at the very least, flustered by it! Lucky's woozy eyes followed the wasp's as her gaze flicked between her and the ref, the poor girl looking as confused as she was disoriented! It was moments like these wrestlers jumped for, when their opponents were all vulnerable and weak but the warrior Bee was just standing there, jittering and almost fearful as if she had just signed her own death-warrant! Lucky blinked slowly, confused as no further punishment came to her as she slowly managed to rise to her feet, instead Vespa offering her a choice! She could either stay down and give up... OR she could get up and take her "sting", presumably her strongest attack! Well... there was only one answer Lucky could give to that and there was no way it was giving up!

"S-sure, ser-knight!" She agreed with a pained smile. There was no way she was gonna just bend the knee because things were getting tough! She would fight Vespa to the bitter end because that's what she'd probably do! Also, she wanted to win so... Losing wasn't an option she'd seriously consider anyway. The bigger, stronger wasp took a few steps back, giving some room for the cheerleader to recover... something Lucky exploited most graciously. With a heavy breath, she rose to her full height, trying to ignore the fuzziness in her brain and the slight weeble-wobble of the ring under her feet.

You're okay... You can do this, Sakura... She self-encouraged, her inner voice cheering her on to keep her spirits high! You can take anything she's got!

Well... that might've not been exactly true but it felt GOOD to hear! Yeah! She could take this sting and get right back up and then BEAT her afterwords!

"Come at me, Vespa!" Lucky demanded, lowering herself into her wrestling stance. "I'm ready for ya!"

Up the cheerleader went. Despite all the pain she had gone through, the strikes, the slams, the surprise headbutt, the cheerleader stood back up, still smiling her warm but determined smile. It was as if she was incapable of frowning, no matter what someone put her through. Her determination burned in her eyes as Lucky stood up tall, unfazed by Vespa’s challenge and the promise of a powerful attack. She even egged the Wasp warrior on, demanding she attack as she got low into her stance.

The display made Vespa smile. Like a lonely child who had just made their first friend, her face glowed as her opponent rose up to the challenge, not showing even a hint of hesitation. Truly, this was a fine warrior she was facing, one she would not soon forget.

“Heh heh heh…Truly, you are quite the sight to see, Invad—” A slight pause, “No, I should say “Sakura”. Please forgive my rude reaction to your customs at the start of our spar.”

As she talked, Vespa began to get low. Bending her knees, and preparing to launch her finishing strike at her opponent. One leg moved back, muscles getting ready to spring into action.

This would be Lucky’s final test in Vespa’s mind…

“Ready for me? I certainly hope so, Sakura…”

With that, Vespa launched herself at her foe. Her powerful legs forcing what was once a prone form to blasting across the ring in incredible speed. Vespa was careful to keep her bad shoulder behind her, planning on only using her good side for the attack. The finisher Bee Sting was a brutal, powerful spear attack. A devastating attack, but only if it hit its target.

Lucky stood firm as Vespa prepared her attack, planning to take it all and STILL keep fighting! She would show her opponent that she was worthy of her approval, that she COULD be more than just an invader... but it seemed that she didn't even NEED to do even that! Sakura's eyes widened as the wasp soldier referred to her by her name instead of the title she was given, asking for her forgiveness! The cheerleader blinked, shocked... But then smiled widely, feeling her heart aflutter with Vespa's recognition! She was merely thinking about hugging her after the match before but NOW!? It was a certainty!

She still had to take that ultimate attack, though... Whatever she could do it!

"Ready when you are!" Lucky declared in a sing-song tone! Oh... boy... She knew not what she was getting into... Vespa came at her like a knight leveling a spear, her shoulder DIGGING into Lucky's unprotected belly and knocking ALL the air out of her in one gutteral sputter! She was taken to the mat like a floppy exercise doll, all her strength drained out of her in an instant! She stared up at the at the ceiling, contemplating her life decisions as her lungs gasped for air, her buxom chest rising and falling so heavily, her breast bobbed and bounced with each movement!

"W-wow...." She gasped, a hand raising up to rest on her forehead, her eyes clenching shut to deal with the pain... It didn't help suffice it to say... "That... hurt..." An understatement to say the least... Lucky was completely drained... It was like someone pressed her off-switch, depriving her of everything that made her go! But even so... The smaller wrestler percisted, taking energy she didn't have and using it anyway! It was like she was using a credit-card for energy, a hand weakly moving up to push on Vespa's shoulders weakly, displaying that EVEN while she just got hit DEAD on, she still had some fight in her!

"...N-not yet... Not yet...!"

Like a battering ram crashing against a door, Vespa brought Lucky down hard. The pair smashed into the floor, Lucky gasping for breath while Vespa writhed on the floor. Despite her best efforts, her bad shoulder felt the shock of the impact, causing a strike of pain to stab right into the joint.

Vespa had expected Lucky to have passed out, tough as the cheerleader had proven to be, the Wasp was sure her attack given to her by the Royalty would do the trick. The soldier tried to lift herself off her foe, but found it difficult with only one arm. It was not until Lucky began to speak that Vespa realized she was still conscious. Her surprised gaze met Lucky’s closed eyes, the cheerleader mumbling and looking close to passing out.

“Th….That is…precisely the point…”

Tired, hurt, and barely holding on to consciousness herself, Vespa lifted herself onto her knees, trying to find anything in her reserves to keep going, the dull pain in her shoulder pumping a small amount adrenaline in her veins, causing her to chuckle. She no longer had any idea what to do with Lucky, only having on arm to work with, and unable to get off her knees.

But, the Queens orders were absolute. The fight was not yet over, not until the royalty said so.

“Sakura…it’s over…Yield.”

Despite Vespa’s tone, she was not sure how much longer she could keep up with this fight.

"N-No! I won't give up!" Sakura gasped out, forcing her head up with no small effort. God, her belly ached... She had no idea where the strength to lift her head was coming from...

Where it came from, in fact, was her desire to WIN... maybe a little luck that the attack was slightly hampered by Vespa's previous wounds but nonetheless! She could still fight on... as agonizing as it'd be! drawingon this mysterious power, Lucky FORCED herself up, pushing against the mat with her hands with a loud groan, her cheeks taking on a mild sickly green hue as a wave of nausea... Oh no... OH boy, it'd suck if she'd vomit right here... Through sheer willpower, the little happy go-lucky cheerleader managed to keep her stomach in check long enough to force herself to her knees, the two women just kneeling there, huffing and puffing as they tried to recover SOME amount of strength. Boy... This was up there with her fight with Maddie with how hard it was... Yeah, it didn't go on for as long (maybe because they weren't making out nearly as much) nor had they knocked each other out repeatedly throughout the match (maybe because it wasn't a submission only fight) but hey! Despite everything she was still having fun! It was a grueling, agonizing, being-pushed-to-the-bare-boundaries-of-your-limits kinda fun, but fun nonetheless!

"*Huff...* You look kinda bad, Vespa..." Lucky giggled weakly, still all smiles after getting her belly pushed in by that wasp-sting! One eye remained clenched shut, a result of the PAIN knotting up her stomach right now, sweat pouring down her cheeks, arms and general skin, her outfit sticking to her form, making it more obviously visible. "..Heh... I'm still gonna beat'cha though...!"

Despite that promise though, the absolute BEST Lucky could come up with was a pathetically weak forearm strike aimed at Vespa's jaw. She would've been embarrassed of her performance but she was simply too tired to feel it... Despite her opponent looking haggard and exhausted, Sakura wasn't doing much better... She wasn't just gonna sit around though! She was gonna fight until her body gave out!

Despite Vespa’s plea, Lucky indeed got back up. the two women were both tired, badly injured, and determined beyond rational thought. Each one barely holding on to consciousness, just trying to get some pinch of energy to outlast the other woman.

Vespa’s focus was on her Queens orders. She was to subdue the Invader, defeat them before they could do any damage to the Hive, and be sure that they did not threaten the Royalty again. However, throughout the match, Lucky had only shown interest in joining the Queen, wishing to make the Hive an ally rather than a foe. Naturally, one can not simply trust what was once an enemy with something as valuable as the royalty, so a test was needed. Vespa believed herself to be that test. So, she took it upon herself to see if Lucky was capable of serving the Royalty as a friend, and so far, her foe was passing with flying colors. If going by strength alone, she was doing well against a vanguard of the Royalty, but her personality factored into the grade as well. Even after being struck with everything Vespa had, the cheerleader rose back up with a smile on her face.

A fine friend to have in any situation, especially for the Hive…

“H-hehheh…you don’t look so well yourself, Sakura. Perhaps my Sting affected you more than you let on?” Vespa smiled weakly, teasing her opponent in a somewhat playful yet respectable manner. Her friendliness was infectious, turning the once on guard Wasp soldier into something far calmer, almost jovial. Vespa was starting to understand why she wore the outfit of a cheerleader.

At Lucky’s declaration, Vespa simply nodded back, ready to take whatever her foe threw at her. What came was a tired elbow strike. Had Vespa been at one hundred percent, the strike would have felt like it just glanced off her jaw, the Wasp likely unhurt by such a weak attack. But Vespa was not at her best, far from it, and the blow made the already tired knight’s head spin. For a moment, Vespa had to place her hand on the ground, trying to maintain her balance on her knees before sitting herself up.

“Ve….Very…good.”

Pulling her one good arm back, Vespa would return the elbow strike with one of her own. It was a pathetically weak strike, likely worse than the one Lucky had just used. Vespa seemed to have worse techniques than the cheerleader did, and her swimming vision did little to help her effectiveness in this battle of wills.

"...It wasn't... easy..." Lucky admitted when Vespa called her out, a sheepish grin spreading across her exhausted face. "B-but that doesn't mean it'll stop me!" With that declaration of strength made, the cheerleader threw a blow that... uh... didn't live up to the hype she had worked up for it, striking Vespa in the chin with all that 5% of the energy she had left! Through her hefty breaths and drooping eye-lids, Sakura was surprised to discover that her attack actually forced the wasp back, only keeping herself upright by throwing a hand back to catch herself.

"Heh... Th-than-" Was all she managed to get out before the wasp returned with a vengeance, striking Lucky across the jaw with her own forearm strike! Were they at maximum strength, something like that would've been something she would've just shrugged off with a laugh, like someone just semi-harshly patting her cheek! They were both so tired, though... borderline passing out and so... the damage it actually dealt was amplified exponentially! "Guuh!" She cried as Vespa's counter attack struck her right on point, knocking her back so hard, she nearly fell on her back herself, barely able to catch herself on pure reflexive instinct on her forearm! Oh boy... there was nothing harder Lucky had to do in her LIFE than force herself back up to face her wasp-friend/rival/fellow soldier(?) but she did!... After several moments of Sakura gasping for breath, sweat pouring down her face as she pushed herself upright on her knees...

Yeah... if that was any weaker than her hit, she couldn't feel a difference. It was like getting flogged with a tree-trunk and somehow she kept getting back up! How EVER would she reward herself for getting this far...? Icepacks. Lots of them... Maybe a hug and a kiss from Vespa later maybe... Yeah... Maybe...

Enough fantasizing! She had a losing battle to fight! Sakura cocked a trembling fist back, doing her best to blink the sweat beading down from her forehead out from her eyes... She needed GOOD aim if she was gonna land this last hit... And it would be THE last hit... Whether or not it actually toppled Vespa wasn't the issue, more that Lucky would have nothing in her tank after this! This last punch? It held that last... eh... 2% she had remaining after taking that hit...

"T-this is it!" She wheezed as her fest went flying, aiming to DIG into her friend's jaw with all her might!

Everything was spinning. The ring, the lights, even Lucky. It was a slow, steady circle to the left, then a slight faster turn to the right, then back. It was almost hypnotic, the steady rhythm of each twist in her vision as Vespa tried to keep her eyes open. She felt nauseous, each twist making a knot in her stomach lurch. It was a good thing she had not eaten for some time, otherwise she would have to worry about her stomachs dependability. Even her uniform was beginning to get uncomfortable, the skin tight black material drenched in sweat and rubbing the soft skin inside. It was like being stuck in oil, with each piece of armor starting to make the parts they were protecting burn with friction. Vespa’s bangs completely covered one of her eyes, the other looking like it was barely hanging on.

Somehow, Vespa actually hit Lucky. Vespa didn’t even see the elbow connect, as she moved her own head with the blow, just trying to give it that much more momentum. Instead she felt it, then saw its effect on her foe. All Vespa could do was weakly chuckle to herself as Lucky got back up AGAIN!

Vespa had to steady herself once again, using her good arm for balance once again. Just as she settled, Lucky weakly began to lift up her arm, the last fires of determination burning in her eyes. This was the finale, the last she could muster.

It would be disrespectful to not oblige her.

Her arm felt like a rock, her tired muscles barley able to pull themselves taught enough to form a fist in her hand. Shakily, Vespa wound her arm back, her one visible eye meeting Lucky’s one opened one.

“By…Royal…Command…”

The two lashed out at each other with the last off their energy, sparks practically firing off as the last of each woman’s energy was pushed into their final blow. For a moment, it seemed as if everything was silent, so much so that the ‘smack’ of a fist colliding with a skin could be heard, quiet though it was.
Vespa felt her fist fly, her punch would be better described as a ‘stab’, as her arm seemed to do most of the work, while the hand at the end seemed to just be curled as to not harm its fingers. She could feel her attack pass by Lucky’s own, then subtly hit something. Just barley.

Was it a clump of hair? An ear?

Vespa would not know, as her opponent’s aim proved to be better than the Knight’s. Lucky’s fist dug deep into Vespa’s jaw, forcing her head up and rocking her entire body back. For a moment, Vespa returned to her previous position, as if unaffected by the punch, but Lucky would be able to tell. Vespa’s bangs now covered both eyes, her mouth slightly open as the light hit her pink lips. For a moment, everything was still, the audience too far to see what happened to the Wasp soldier.

Finally, with a slight rock, Vespa toppled backwards and crashed onto her back. Her bangs still covered her eyes, and her chest lightly bobbed up and down, the overhead lights reflection crawling up and down the golden material intricately designed around her breasts.

*SMACK*

Lucky's lips curled upwards into a weary smile as her fist dug into Vespa's cheek, her opponent's mirror blow missing her own by a mere INCH or two, grazing it's target instead and striking her ear! Everything went quiet... Still... The two women frozen like statues... before they both fell, Sakura forward, Vespa back... The poor, wasted cheerleader fell right on top of her buzzy rival, chest to chest, face to face, their hands faintly locked with one another as lucky's chin rested on her opponent's shoulder. She could tell just by her face... there was no Vespa beneath her now... just an unconscious shell... She was completely knocked out...

Sakura, on the other hand, was barely awake... barely conscious... but she couldn't move herself... not even if her life depended on it... if Vespa's attack had hit, there was not a doubt in her mind she would've been laid out on the mat just as she was now but luck had finally came to her aid, sparing her the vengeance her opponent and allowing her to fall into a pin! She smiled ever so faintly, gently nudging her cheek against her fallen friend, her fingers ever so gently squeezing her hands. This was one of the most fun fights she'd ever had in her life HANDS DOWN! Not only was she pushed to the bare edge again... but she might've made a new and cool friend too! With a sigh, her eyes fluttered closed as the ref thew themselves down besides the two women, their voice fading out into the darkness that slowly began to consume the cheerleader's thoughts!
