Isa vs Alaina - Angel vs Amazon

What was going to happen tonight? A match in the Friction arena with her in it - that was all Isa knew, so far... She was momentarily about to find out more though. It was less than a minute until her music would start to play...

So, what had happened that had gotten the Angel of Ice to this situation? Not much. Basically, she had been asked whether she would be up for a match the following day. She had said yes. Then she had been told that the management was trying out a "new" concept - matches that had their fighters announced only as they'd appear in the ring. It had sounded a bit funny, but nothing too strange. Isa hadn't thought much of it.

Now she was. She was nervous. Very nervous. Mostly just due to her natural anxiety caused by being a relative rookie in AFW with an amateur background, but also due to the identity of her opponent being still a mystery. Granted, Isa had fared fairly well so far during her time in AFW, and it wasn't like she had known her previous opponents from before, so logically there shouldn't have been anything to worried about, right?

But exactly how she always did, Isa hid her nervousness deep inside as Mountain Sound started blaring throughout the AFW arena. She listened to its reception for a moment, trying to figure out how soon the first members of the audience could guess who was going to make her appearance. But she wasn't one to keep people waiting either, so the blonde began promptly marching her way towards the ring with a gentle smile and subtle waves to the crowds.

Jumping onto the apron, Isa slid gracefully through the ropes into the ring, and proceeded to perform her usual entrance rituals. The blonde jumped up sitting on the top rope, crossed her legs and posingly waved at the audience, before jumping down and repeating the actions on the opposite side. Then it was time to settle in her corner, and wait for the answer to her crucial question...

...Who was going to appear?

Alaina was ready backstage, pacing around in her tiger print swimsuit and ring attire. She had a lot on her mind lately with all that had been going on especially in regards to Manami Kuroda. She needed a distraction. She also needed some momentum in her favor. Tonight she hoped to find both as she was ready for her match.

Alaina heard her music playing and she ran out towards the ramp, coming out to the arena as the fans cheered her arrival loudly. She high fived them on her way down the ramp, all smiles as far as anyone could tell. The amazon looked up at the ring and kept her eyes focused on this woman Isa. Alaina didn't know much about her but she recalled her somewhat distant memory of Yuki and the rookie's upset win over the amazon.

Alaina wasn't about to let that happen again tonight. As she climbed up into the ring she held her arms out to continue basking in the cheers of the crowd before she made her way to the center of the ring, still looking over at Isa as she extended a hand. "Good luck, I am sure we'll have a good match tonight." Alaina said as she waited for Isa's response.

Did Isa know many of the other women competing in Friction? Not too many, to be honest. Of course she had seen matches, she knew some of the prominent figures, and obviously the ones she had wrestled against were clearly on her radar. Like Kaede Komatsuzaki for example, the annoying brat Isa had defeated in her debut, or Yuki Onna, the azure-haired Japanese who had managed to be all cute and overwhelmingly polite while still brutally beating Isa down in her first PPV in the process. Still, the odds were that her opponent tonight was going to be more or less a stranger to the blonde.

But the woman that appeared on the ramp Isa knew.

Of course everyone in Friction knew who the Amazon was. Alaina Sanders was such a prominent figure in the promotion that even Isa was well aware of who she was, and what she could do. She had seen some of her matches, she had heard bits of her history and seen her skills and strength in action. She had seen what her body could do - and secretly, it had sparked some admiration and even envy inside the blonde. In Isa's eyes, Alaina was a real superstar.

And now she was about to face her in the ring herself. The Nordic girl gulped.

Isa could sense Alaina's eyes being kept focused on her while the veteran was getting her deserved embrace and attention from the AFW crowds, hearing which reminded Isa that not only was she facing a veteran, but a fan-favorite too. One that seemed determined to win...

Still, as Alaina got up to face the blonde, the Amazon proved to be friendly enough. Not that it hadn't been expected, but it still made Isa feel a bit better. At least Alaina was no brutal heel, but rather a fair competitor.

"Thanks!" the blonde began replying to Alaina's wishes as the two opponents shook hands. An honest continuation would have gone somewhere along the lines of "Take it easy on me, OK?", but Isa knew better than to reveal any of her hesitations. Instead, the blonde replied with a polite "I'm sure we will!"

Turning around after the hand shake, Isa retreated back to her corner to wait for the bell to ring. Taking advantage of those few seconds left before the match would begin was crucial. Isa needed to form a strategy. She needed to find answers to a big question: How could she make the Amazon fall?

Alaina smiled and saw Isa coming. She was a well built competitor. Alaina was also happy to that the handshake was accepted and not returned with a sneak attack. "It is good to meet you, too bad now I have to beat you." Alaina said with a wink as the women separated. She stretched in her own corner and as the bell rang Alaina stepped out, crouching low, hands up and ready to roll!

The amazon moved in at Isa, holding her hands out and trying to lock her up in a grapple. Alaina wanted to try to shock the rookie, catching her off guard as she showed off her strength! Alaina wanted to drive Isa back into the corner and crush her against the turnbuckle, showing off her power as she tried to smash her agains that turnbuckle with as much force as possible! If she succeeded and overcame Isa's own strength she would keep Isa in the corner planting three knee strikes into her abdomen! Alaina was determined to be the aggressor, and control the tempo of this match!

Alaina's further words did nothing to make Isa's feeling easier at all. Granted, it was surely not even their purpose, but in Isa's secret wishes she would have longed for finding hints of encouragement or support in her words. Instead, she found none. Alaina was meaning business, and rightfully so.

But Isa knew that she had to keep her cool. She had to keep herself calm and collected, and try to find ways to utilize her own strengths as efficiently as possible to bring the Amazon down. "She's not invincible!" the blonde reassured herself, as Alaina was doing her pre-match stretches.

Soon enough the bell rang, and the Amazon was apparently all too keen to get things going. And she wanted to lock-up! Honestly, Isa couldn't complain. It was the most common way to start matches for herself too, and it was also the best way to find out exactly how strong Alaina would be. The two fighters were about the same height, and their bodies had some other similarities too - but Isa could clearly tell that Alaina was the more muscular one out of the duo. Even if Isa had a decent amount of power of her own stored beneath her curves, the blonde found it unlikely that the amount would surpass Alaina's...

Still, Isa was all too eager to lock up with her. Alaina's own drive caused the blonde to have to immediately take a couple of steps backwards however, but then she managed to gain some proper footing. The movement of the duo was halted for a moment, making the lock-up look like a real struggle! But slowly Alaina's efforts started overpowering Isa's leg strength.,. And finally, Isa's stance reached a tipping point, and the blonde's body got promptly smashed against the turnbuckle! Isa let out an exclamation, but there was still more to come! The Amazon proceeded to deliver three knee strikes to Isa's belly, dropping the Angel of Ice to her knees. And if Alaina's goal was to shock the rookie, her plan was a perfect success, as the match had indeed gotten off to a much more aggressive start than Isa could have ever been prepared for...

Alaina had managed to drive Isa into the corner and take the fight to her to kick things off! While that in and of itself was good she realized she had a lot more work to do. Isa was on her knees right in front of Alaina, and the amazon reached out to wrap an arm around Isa's head while reaching with her other hand to grab at her waist. Keep it up, don't give up momentum...

Alaina pulled Isa back away from the corner a step before finally setting up and attempting to lift Isa up for a quick snap suplex! While not the highest impact of offense it wouldn't feel good on Isa's back if she pulled it off, anti would serve to keep Alaina in control of the momentum. She didn't want a comeback victory for the rookie the same as she handed to Yuki. Alaina was determined to show the world that match was something of a fluke!

Yuki Onna had already delivered Isa one beatdown, and little did she know that the azure-haired girl was a prime motivator for her current one as well! Isa was clueless of how strongly Alaina was associating her with the other wrestler, and how determined she was to avoid a similar fate against the Angel of Ice. All Isa knew was that Alaina was now in full attack mode, that was much rougher than the blonde had been expecting.

As the Nordic girl was still shocked by the knees to her guts, the Amazon had already easily started setting her up for another move. And before Isa knew it, she was already being lifted up in the air! Her eyes widening with horror, there was nothing that could have saved her back from getting slammed to the mat...

The Angel of Ice froze. What had just happened was so overwhelming... She hadn't really experienced anyone basically ragdolling her body like that! Usually she had been the one to have the size and strength advantage, and now both of those where far, far away. The Amazon was obviously possessing serious skill and strength, and Isa was at a loss of what to do. She could only wince on the mat in pain, as the crowds were witnessing Alaina's unwillingness to take it easy at all with the cute rookie.

Alaina had brought Is a crashing down once, she she figured one good landing deserved another! The amazon got up, pulling Isa up by the hair to a standing position. "Time to go for a ride little princess!" Alaina screamed as she bent down, one arm around Isa's strong shoulders and the other between her legs.

Alaina attempted to scoop Is a up, holding her high before slamming her down hard to the mat! If successful Alaina would flex a bicep and kiss it, playing to the crowd before leaping into the air! She wanted to pound the point home, hitting Isa with a leg drop after the slam!

If Isa's head had drained out of ideas on what to do, Alaina on the other hand seemed to have plenty of them. It was starkly evident at this point that she was the veteran of the duo, and was determined to take control of the rookie right from the start.

There were also considerably differences between the duo's opinions on Isa's landing. The blonde considered it to be one of the most terrible ones she'd had to endure, while the Amazon was keen to go for a quick repetition. Before Isa knew it, she was already being pulled back up, and promptly lifted high up again! For a moment, the Angel of Ice looked like some terrified trophy Alaina had just won, before she was slammed back down hard again.

Alaina's plan might have gotten executed perfectly, but the Amazon had now managed to, in addition to causing serious pain, irritate Isa in the process. First of all, she had pulled the blonde up by her hair which Isa never considered to be nice at all. Frankly, she hated it. Then, she had called her "little princess". Not exactly the worst thing to say, but enough to effectively erode Isa's usually resilient cool.

As Isa looked up, she saw Alaina kissing her bicep, acting almost arrogantly confident. This was it. Isa couldn't allow her to just keep ragdolling her any longer. She had to get back in the game.

At that moment, Isa saw Alaina leaping up in the air. The blonde's instincts kicked in, she could predict what was coming. Quickly, Isa rolled to the side, with the result that only Alaina's heel barely impacted the blonde's body as the Amazon came down with her leg drop. While she had dodged the bullet for now, Isa was still desperate for some recovery time, so the blonde tried to shoot a stiff kick blindly at the Amazon's direction, hoping that it could manage to buy her some of it.

Alaina leapt up and came crashing down on the mat! She groaned in pain as she was surprised to see Isa roll out of the way! To make matters worse as Alaina got upland took a kick to the chest! "Oomph!" Alaina groaned as she stumbled back a few steps, wincing in pain as her hand rubbed her chest. Alaina knew Isa had more fight in her and she was seeing it now!

Alaina tried to take a few steps back, eyeing Isa for a moment. She suddenly ran at Isa trying to move as quickly as she could, leaping into the air and flying right at Isa! Alaina was trying to crash right into Isa with a cross body block in an attempt to bring her right back down to the mat. Alaina didn't want to give Isa a chance to get into the match. Alaina paid for losing focus before she wasn't going to do it again..... although Alaina knew Isa seemed to have a fire in her. She could only hope the ice princess didn't counter the flying cross body block of the amazon!
