Contendership Round 3: Chigusa Yuuki Vs. Dixie Clemets

Chigusa was lying down on a bench backstage. Her last match ended a bit earlier than the others, so she had a bit more time to rest. Not that it helped much, every single one of her matches had been a hard fight, and she was exhausted. Athena had done quite some damage last match as well, bruising her all over. Though she won, she wasn't sure she could win the next match. Especially since it was against someone who was almost a legend. Dixie Clemets, the famous Yankee Rose, was going to be tougher than probably everybody else she had faced so far. Chigusa was still confidant however; she had fought against some tough opponents before, and Dixie was still human.

She pushed herself up off the bench. As she walked out to the ramp, the lights momentarily blinded her. She raised a hand to her eyes, shielding them. The crowd cheered when they saw her come out. She smiled and waved to the crowd, walking with dignity to the ring, hiding her exhaustion. She got inside the ring, waiting for Dixie to come out and meet her.

"Lets see how well I match up against a legend..." Chigusa thought.

Dixie was leaning up against the wall in the back. She was so tired but had at least gotten some rest since the last match and managed to get a shower in to clean herself off. Her match with Reiko had left her feeling exceptionally dirty. This tournament was nearing its end though and Dixie had to hang on. Just a little longer....

The music changed and Dixie took a deep breath, heading out onto stage to see her purple-haired opponent, Yuuki. "Hmm..." Dixie thought as she slowly walked down the aisle at a relaxed pace, conserving her energy, "she doesn't look TOO tough." the cowgirl reasoned in her head. But Dixie knew that one should never judge by the cover here at afw. Perhaps it was that action that earned her the loss in the original tournament that shifted the 3-count cowgirl in this contendership bracket.

The buxom cowgirl took a few breaths before grabbing at the ropes to pull herself into the ring. "Lez do this!" she announced, as prepared as she could be. She went to her corner and stretched some of the areas of her body that were sore...

Chigusa saw that Dixie seemed to be as fired up as ever. The cowgirl was still very much in the game, not looking quite as worn down as Chigusa felt, though Chigusa was putting on a bold front right now too. She appeared fine, even though inside she felt completely worn down. The crowd was cheering, which gave her some energy, though she was not the favorite in this match. More people shouted Dixie's name than hers.

"Alright then," Chigusa thought, "I can't let her psyche me. Stay strong Chigusa!"

She walked over to the center of the ring. "It's an honor to fight you Dixie, let's make this match memorable!" Chigusa said, extending her hand.

Dixie looked up at her foe and approached. The cowgirl smiled and offered her hand to shake Chigusa's. It seemed like this would be a pleasant opponent to face. After shaking, if Chigusa did, Dixie would take a few steps back and wait for the bell to ring. Once it did, Dixie would begin to circle her foe, trying to hide the soreness she was enduring and would try to open the match with a quick headlock if Yuuki didn't attack first...

After shaking hands, Chigusa walked back a few steps and settled into a defensive position. She couldn't immediately take the offensive this time, partially because she didn't need to, and partially because she couldn't. She didn't need to open up with an attack to test what her opponent's fighting style was, because she knew how Dixie fought. Her body also couldn't just let her open up with a big attack either, since she was just too tired to be just wasting energy. She had to conserve what little reserves she had left.

But not going in for an attack seemed to be a mistake. Before she knew it, Dixie was lunging forward with a grapple, putting Chigusa in a headlock position very quickly. Chigusa hadn't had any time to react to the move, but knew she needed to move fast. She grabbed Dixie's arms and twisted around while still holding on, aiming to try and put Dixie in an armbar.

Dixie grimmaced in pain when the girl slipped behind her and twisted her arm. "Ah!" Dixie waited for a moment, trying to see if she could reverse the positioning but wasn't seeing many openings. Seemed Chigusa had some skills afterall. She would have to in order to make it this far anyway. Dixie raised up onto her tip toes to try and relieve some of the pressure, she would then try to drop down and yank Chigusa over her back, attempting to flip her to her back...

Chigusa kept up the hold, racking up more pressure on Dixie's arm by pushing upwards. Dixie, however, was using her height advantage to lessen the pressure in her hold. Then suddenly Dixie ducked down and forward, throwing Chigusa off her feet and over Dixie's back. Chigusa quickly let go of Dixie and threw out her arms, catching herself in a handspring before she hit the mat. She recovered quickly, following through the motion and landing on her feet.

Dixie raised an eyebrow when she looked and saw Chigusa counter with the handspring right to her feet. She gave a whistle and a small applaud before she rose back up and lifted her arms once more. This time, Dixie would come in and try to bury her knee into Chigusa's stomach. If this succeeded and she doubled over, the cowgirl would try to follow up and set Chigusa up in a suplex position...

Chigusa faced Dixie again, hands raised, ready to counterattack and bring the match under her control. The handspring wasn't that good of a move for her in the condition she was in, because she was tired and the move took quite a bit of energy. But she needed to fight back, before Dixie could land a big hit on her.

But then Dixie's knee struck Chigusa's belly hard, knocking the air out of her. Chigusa grunted in pain, backing off a few steps. She knew Dixie was using the move as set-up, so decided to try and counterattack now, when Dixie least expected it. She would rush forward and try to spear Dixie to the ground.

As Dixie saw her opponent double over herself, she immediately tried to follow up with the setup for her next move, but the last thing she expected was Chigusa to explode back with the spear counter. Dixie felt her foe's shoulder drive into her and the tired cowgirl couldn't muster much resistance before she was taken down to the mat. "UUGH!!" the blonde grunted, her senses sent into disarray as the breath was knocked from her lungs...
