Wherever Harper wrestles next he should do a Southern accent just as a F**k You to Vince.

Soon to come: Baron Corbin vs Roman Reigns - Loser eats dog food match.
I have to admit that I had to laugh and was indeed entertained by this supposed match...

It's like the Bret Hart vs Jerry Lawler : Kiss My Foot match all over again, only now I'm too old to appreciate gross out gimmicks.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
WWE just can´t get enough of Reigns vs Corbin. So it was just a question of time before things would drift into such a direction at least once. And I think it is pretty clear who will eat the dog food...

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Man. Reigns career is fucked.
WWE is basically too stubborn to give up on him and keeping him around, but are terrified of fans hatred of him, so they don't want to actually push him. Fans barely cheer Reigns now, but if you search online message boards, you can see a LOT of paranoia about Reigns. Lot's of talk about how he was going to bury Daniel Bryan, beat Kofi for the belt, that he was going to beat Lesnar for the belt at Summer Slam, and now, all the paranoia is that he's going to win the Royal Rumble and bury The Fiend at Mania, which is almost certain to ruin any goodwill Reigns has built up.
Honestly, I don't think ANYBODY knows what to do with Reigns. If you leave him in the mid-card forever, you basically waste a legitimate potential main eventer, while people continue to be unfairly paranoid about him the rest of his career.
But the minute you start pushing him as a main eventer again, the hardcore audience will turn against him immediately, and then we're back to where we were 6 years ago, despite the fact that Reigns has vastly improved since then, that he's been around for 8 years now, and has earned his stripes.
Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if he's better off just leaving wrestling entirely at this point.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
I find Reigns a lot better than I ever found anything about Cena good. He does not sting my mind with his obnoxious moral immobility and self serving prickliness(although the heel is strong in him sometimes), and I find his move set to be light years ahead of the Firemans Carry/Can´t see me BS. WWE is also much less obnoxious with superlatives around him than the have been in the past(oh no, can Johnny Boy lift Big Show...again? Once in a lifetime, blablabla...). I also would not be angry if he defeated the Fiend at WM, but I can understand why people could be angry about it.
He surely does not behave like a face or a hero. They first tried to make him Superman, which crushingly failed because he was booked like X-Men leader Magneto and not like Superman. Then they were looking to make him Batman, which failed because he can´t portrait that. Then they dug even deeper and went for Deadpool(not a good guy, not a bad guy, just THE guy), which also fails because a character like that is simply impossible to sell to a wrestling smark audience if you have not paid your dues in the indy scene.
So what can you possibly do to make him sympathetic or at least palatable to smarks?
*Make him actually sympathetic. At the current rate, I see no reason to like him because fans will think about for example how he basically roughed Buddy Murphy up for no reason at all. Can you imagine Superman roughing up a feisty bystander because he was attacked by an unknown goon that the bystander has maybe seen?
Make him stand in the corner of a friend, or go for the tag team belts at mania. Sympathy is not won by being invincible.
*Turn him heel, just for a short time to give him some supposed coolness back with the smarks. Hogan revitalize his character with this very bold move, and Hollywood Hogan was simply awesome.
*Let him lose some big ones, and even a feud. Clean, or at least cleanish. Brings sympathy and dissipates some of the concerns that he will master the ultra Instinct again. And speaking of booking for heroes and the Ultrainstinct, look at who finally defeated Jiren in Dragonball Super. It was neither Son Goku or Vegeta, not even Son Gohan. It was a former enemy and a still active enemy. And from a narrative point of view, that was actually a brilliant move.
