New year, new hire and fire roulette:
WWE is rumored to have made offers for Kenny Omega and other NJPW top performers.

And the usual:
Is the newest wrestling promotion with someone who is not a poor former wrestler(AEW) the next WCW or just TNA 2.0?

Neither.

Because I don't think either will have Vince Russo, Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter or Eric Bichoff anywhere near long term creative role, lol

The Elite Fanboys expectations: The greatest tag team of all time (YB), greatest wrestler of all time (Omega) and the smartest man in the history of wrestling (Cody) are going to create the ultimate indy playground show. It'll have all the same amazing, ground breaking, revolutionary story telling that Being The Elite had, only played out on live television, and it'll have matches that'll put NXT to shame. Every indy star in NXT and WWE will pull a Neville and sit out their contracts until WWE finally lets them go and then they will all make way more money and thrive as huge stars in AEW, which will easily get better ratings than Raw or Smackdown and cause WWE to lose their deals with Fox and USA.

AEW will quickly come up with their own Network, making deals with other indy companies to air their material featuring AEW stars on it, and everyone on the WWE Network will cancel it for the AEW Network, causing WWE's stock to absolutely plummet and cause them to go into the red, bleeding money until Vince finally steps out of the wrestling game all together, making WWE just a bad entertainment company, and thus, AEW will have literally saved pro wrestling, allowing for an indy boom to overtake the world and make wrestling more popular than the attitude era.


The Elite Haters Expectations: This show is going to be nothing but a bunch of spot monkeys doing super indy nonsense, with Cody Rhodes pushing himself to the top under the delusion that he's actually a big star, with Omega and The Bucks also pushing themselves up to the top and making the show all about them, with each episode being more of the godawful BTE comedy, a bunch of meta jokes, more Joey Ryan dick focus, and a LOT of "FUCK WWE" jokes and references, because smarks fucking LOVE meta comedy if it insults WWE.

An honest expectation: If it gets a good tv deal, it might get some good ratings, and will certainly attract the hardcore crowd. But they will have difficulty getting the talent they want until they get a good TV deal, and even if they succeed in that, gaining a loyal following of casual viewers that you can turn into longtime fans will be difficult at first, as it'll take time for casual audiences to realize whose these people are, and now that AEW is actually a competitor to other promotions, they may not get the same cooperation they got when they did All In, especially since they had another company handle production for them that time. So it's possible, but it depends on a lot of factors, and more than a little luck. There is also a chance that ego's could play a part in a potential downfall of the company. The Elite are pretty much already showing some ego by virtue of thinking that people should be banging on the door to come work for them when they don't even have TV time yet or any live events announced. Still, they seem to not realize that they had a lot of help along the way to get them where they are (Especially Cody), and that could cause trouble for them in the long run.
