Topic: Wrestling?

It´s quite understandable that WWE chooses a product or a performer and tries to stick with it. In general I agree with long term strategies like keeping Roman Nr.1, I don´t find him half as annoying and unfitting as I found Super Cena annoying.

What I don´t understand is that WWE is so unwilling to follow spikes of interest for other people and install a club of people that can and will beat Reigns when their spike overrides the long term strategy for Reigns.

Or just use interest in people in general, WWE is very reluctant to change plans for people they did not have on the card for advancement. Take Rusev Day for example. People wanted to cheer him, he was a good seller too. One could assume that he would get a moderate push into the midcard belt scene, gets turned face and maybe has a run with Aiden English as tag team champion at least. But no, he stays the same nationalist loser he was right from the start.

Though I do have to add that im pretty sure a fuck ton of people were complaining about the lack of respect Ambrose was being given, with the sentiment dying because as you mentioned he was starting to lose that luster, in fact i know a few cases of alot of people feeling popular guys were pushed down for the sake of Reigns, not just Ambrose (The all time high of this sentiment were probably when his feud with Bray Wyatt ended with Dean losing just bout every big match including the last one. His constant failures to even beat Seth let alone take the belt and of course his mini-feud with triple H leading into WrestleMania where it was clear he was just the punching bag for Triple H to build heat off of.)

Nothing they are doing with Reigns is different than how they usually book their top guys like Hogan and Austin and Triple H and such. The top guy overshadows everyone else.

Now granted, during the Attitude Era, the title got flip flopped and hot shotted onto a lot of different main eventers, which actually worked pretty well in building guys up as top stars, especially since they continued to be booked that way.

Not sure hotshotting the belt like that would work as well in todays WWE though.

It's more an issue with the same old formula than the performer himself.

I think my heart may have given out at Gargano/Ciampa

I have to say, tonight's matches have been pretty amazing. Especially the fight between Gargano and Ciampa.

It is a sad trend that more involved fans of wrestling are much more satisfied with takeovers than with Wrestlemania. Not because fans are stupid or somethnig like that, WWE just does not care to bring fans to WM because they assume that it will sell big anyway and no effort is needed.

I fondly remember watching the first match of Shawn Michaels as singles wrestler against Tito Santana after he had kicked Janetty through the window of the Barber shop. As the good midcard face with some accolades, Santana made the job for the up and coming Michaels but looked absolutely strong in the match with downing Michales with his finisher, only losing because the impact of the flying forearm smash was catapulting Michaels out of the ring and Michaels coming back in a weasely fashion.

You need matches like that as openers for WM, not some random garbage with soso midcarders like Mojo Riley. Walk with Elias for example.
