A Trip To The Office

At first, Eirina hesitated to tell Alaina about the circumstances regarding her separation with her ex-husband, but after hearing Alaina's reassurance, she slowly nodded and sighed.

"Well... it's a shameful thing, really..." Eirina started. "The younger me was a fool, often thinking of things that weren't even there. I loved my former husband, but... I was being irrational, doubting my ex-husband's faithfulness, and being a foolish woman I was, I did something unthinkable..." She lowered her head, as if trying to hide her shame. "I rationalized it as a payback, but it's more like my petty jealousy clouding my logical thinking. I suspected him to be cheating on me, and I retaliated by doing the same."

Not willing to see Alaina's response, her head remained lowered as she continued, "I was always a wild woman, seeking solace in carnal desire, even before I was married to him. When I thought that he's cheating on me, I went all out, sleeping with a lot of men and women I could think of just to satisfy my petty desire. I thought I did a right thing, making my husband suffer just like what he did to me, but... I was so dead wrong." She cradled her head, recalling all the arguments and the realization that she was always in the wrong in this conflict.

"He found out and was heartbroken. At first I was delighted to see his reaction to me cheating on him, but then... everyone stood up for him," Eirina said. "His family, his coworkers, his friends... all of them showed their support to him, and I was alone. From there, I realized that there's no way someone like him could be unfaithful. It's all in my head. My imagination running rampant was the reason why our marriage was ruined. Realizing that, I wished to mend our relationship, but that's impossible, not after all those horrible things I did to him..."

Eirina closed her eyes, trying to stop her tears from coming out. "So... we divorced and I decided to return to Japan. We still maintain contact with each other, but it's just purely professional because we're both doctors." She looked back at Alaina, her blue eyes a little glassy. "And that's it. I was a horrible woman for doing that to the man I loved just because I was such a jealous person..." It's understandable if Alaina would think badly of her right after learning of such a thing.

Despite everything, Eirina smiled. "Haha, thank you, Alaina. You sure know how to cheer up the little ol' me," she said. Well, she usually didn't like to have the issues regarding her age brought up, but it's okay if she's the one who did it.

Putting on her glasses back, she looked at Alaina. "Sounds like a good idea. And it's been a while since the last time I went for an outing. Plus, training sounds nice too," she grinned at her. "If I hang around you for a while, I may end up discovering your weaknesses, and I can beat you if we face each other again in the ring," she said to Alaina teasingly, sticking out her tongue and winking mischievously at her. While she said that in a joking manner, she actually meant it when she said that she would be the one to beat Alaina if they were to have a match again.

"Oh yeah? Well, the same can be said about me, you know?" Eirina said, feeling her competitive spirit burning. It's been a while since the last time she had that feeling. "Maybe I still have a few rusts here and there after that extended hiatus, but I can tell I've been improving lately," she grinned at Alaina. "So, if we are to meet in the ring once again, you'll find me a different woman than before," she gave Alaina a thumbs-up.

"So, let's do our best," Eirina told her. "Having this kind of rivalry is nice, right? It drives us to improve ourselves, to better ourselves. This is what appeals me the most about wrestling," she said.
