Between Matches at the tournament

Kirin paused, and kept herself from holding her belly from where Masane had hammered her earlier that day. "Maybe... but not liking them doesn't mean I can't do them," she insisted firmly. "And I won't have some random bully pushing around girls when I'm supposed to be a mother figure around here." She seemed positively adamant on that point, and while she felt on a roll, she poked a finger accusingly at Masane, her voice stern but not really yelling.

"And I don't mind you worrying about your sash, not one bit. Even if you want to make this personal and not ask for help, that's fine. But young lady, they don't exactly hand out shiny gold belts to everybody who comes in these doors and there are girls out there butting heads to try and get it, so show a little respect for them and at least be a little appreciative of having the honor of holding such a title." She folded her chubby arms unbendingly at the topic.

Masane nodded a little. "Yes, that's fine." She said. "Really though, Yatori is the reason I'm here in the first place. I mean it's nice I have the belt and all, but really, I just wanted a second chance at fighting Makoto. And I didn't even get that. I am grateful for obtaining the belt... I just wish I had gotten it legitimately. Disqualification is a poor victory, and Sarah's more than aware of this. I didn't win. I just didn't lose."

Kirin sighed heavily, well aware of the sting of a DQ win from her older pro days. "You DID win, Masane. You proved to be the better fighter." She'd raise a hand, expectant of an attempt to interrupt. "Ah. You were by far the more honorable one. You nearly beat her by following the rules, and she could only beat you by breaking and bending them. She broke your body, but your pride and decency held stronger. But if you cave and go on thinking you don't deserve the title, then she really has won and it's practically hers. And SHE'S no champion, just a simple, shallow sadist who wanted to hurt people. They knew that when they picked you to be the winner, that she was just scum and you were a true wrestler and a true champion.

"Besides, you don't need a title to have a rematch with somebody. Walk up to her and just ask some time." She hesitated and smiled wider. "Even give her a title shot... assuming she can get past me as your number one contendor and EARN that attempt."

Masane listened quietly, nodding a little, then looked up at Kirin. "So.. you wouldn't mind if I ended up putting up the title against her first? A woman like her I expect wants a trade off of some sort. Like she wouldn't participate in something unless she has something to gain from winning. At least, that's what I think."

Kirin sighed and loosened her folded arms a bit. "You DID say I had the first shot..." she said with feigned disappointment. "But you need that kind of confirmation. I would be much better than her if I took on a champ who was only half-dressed and half-hearted," she said with a wink and a smile.

"But if she tries something fishy again..." she said sternly. "Well... I'm not gonna let trash like that get THIS belt, you understand."

It was purely coincidence that Sarah Gatt happened to walk by the doorway at that moment.

The scars of her fiasco were still evident across her body. The side of her head was still bloody, and her body was still bruised. Despite this she walked with an air indifference, not caring about all that had happened in her championship match. The security guards she had hospitalized, or the karate girl she had nearly beaten to death. It was just another fight. A fight that knew she had one. If anything says it, it was the trophy she had taken off of Masane.

With her hands in the pockets of her leather jacket, Sarah continued down the hall, whistling a tune to herself as she did.

Kirin's eyes barely glanced out the hall at the whistling, but the sight was enough to let her recognize it. The girl was beaten beyond belief and still walking like nothing was wrong, the insensitive little beast. She half-turned towards the door to give the girl a mouthful, but managed to bite back the tongue-lashing and looked with a frown at Masane. She hated being so steamed at the little punk, but she felt she needed to maintain some prescence in front of the martial artist for her point to stick. She'd meet her eyes and do her best to use them to indicate their passerby to her, and leave the choice of whether or not to take action towards her so soon...

Masane nodded a little. "If I do lose to her, you're more than welcome to step in however you want." She said, then tilted her head as she saw Kirin's eyes wander elsewhere. "Is... something wrong?" She asked, not recognizing the blur that walked by the door.

Kirin sighed and couldn't let herself hide it. "She went by," she said in a lowered, calm voice. "I'm not saying you're so bad that you should stay in bed all day, but I don't think you should go challenging her just yet, though... I could talk to her in your stead, if you'd like." She really didn't want her getting riled up so soon about this, but her honesty got the better of her

"Wh-?!" She started to say, and started to get up, but stopped herself, sighing a little as she listened to Kirin. "All right... yeah... you can talk to her... just be careful, ok, Kirin?"
