Hikari vs Elesia: Blood tainted wings

The apology fell on deaf ears. Elesia was too busy frantically trying to think of something she could do to break away from this life or death situation she was in. In the end though, only one thought came to mind, and despite how painful it was going to be, she had no other choice, it was do or die.

When the arrow was sent towards her, Elesia tried to react, and suddenly moved her right arm, even though it was painful to do so. Since the arrow was embedded into her shoulder join, moving her arm in any way just grinded the flesh and bone further into the arrow, but she did it quick enough so the pain was sudden, and she yelled out a frusterated grunt to try and get over it. That pain wasn't nearly as much as what was about to happen next though.

With a sickening sound of flesh being destroyed, the arrow had struck true, going right for Elesia's face, but something had stopped it, nearly inches from going any further. Her right hand held before her face, glowing strongly with the remaining energies she had left, Elesia sent all her holy powers she had once in both fists now to just the right one, and in an open palm, the arrow embedded itself into her hand. It didn't go through do to how she used the holy energies to fortify her hand, but it still sunk deep, causing blood to pour from her other hand.

Then... despite the pain, Elesia did something very odd, even disturbing...
She was laughing, it was the kind of laughter someone gave when victory was achieved, but in her state, that would seem impossible. What was even worse was how she placed her hand towards her mouth, ripping the arrow from it as blood leaked down, her skin going pale. Using that very hand with a deep hole in it, Elesia pryed away the other arrow from her left hand next, no longer allowing it to be pinned to the pew behind her.

Both hands bled from her palms, and as she laughed with a dark chuckle, she showed them both towards Hikari, her cyan eyes widening as she did, and said only one word before her body begun to glow again with a light like it did the first time.

"Stigmata..."

Hikari gasped when Elesia used her hand and blocked the arrow. It buried itself deep into her hand, nearly piercing completely through. Then she watched in horror as Elesia began ripping the arrows out of her body one by one, blood flowing freely from the gaping wounds. She winced in pain. She didn't understand how Elesia could stand the pain, or how she was still alive. The girl had been pierced right through the chest! Elesia's laugh shook Hikari again. She actually quivered a little in fear. Then she regained control. Nocking another arrow, she drew back the bow completely and aimed again at Elesia's head.

"I don't know what you're trying to do," Hikari said, "But you won't survive. Please, just die for your own sake." She loosened the arrow just as Elesia said the word Stigmata and her body began to glow.

Just die? Aha! Ahahaha!! Was she serious?!? Insane! Absolutaly, pathetically, insane! She didn't just give up so easily. And besides! Death did not hold a boundry against her, she would simply come back later and try once more, because nothing would stop her from completing her mission from the Lord himself!

Feeling death come close, it only made Elesia laugh further, the blood no longer flowing from any part of her body except for her palms. In fact, the blood was starting to arrange itself as far too much poured from her palms to even be possible. The blood never dripped to the floor, and unnaturally wrapped around in the palms of her hands, and even around her body, glowing a bright, crimson light as it bathed her in protection. The whole scene was morbidely facinating, the nun becoming coated in her blood as it formed a device of some sort in her hand, slowly solidifying.

"Seal two, unleashed... The Nail of Atonement. No creature can escape the judgment of God!"

Her voice echoed through out the church with the valor of a zealot, and in a brilliant cascade of shards, the bloody shell that encased her shattered like glass, deflecting the arrow, and vanishing into light as if the blood never had been there in the first place. The large hulking rectangular mass that the blood formed in her hands had taken shape, and revealed what could only be described as a massive, iron, pile-driver, the silver nail pulled back and ready to obliterate whatever it touched on impact.

Holding the monstrous device in hand, Elesia looked at Hikari with a focused gaze, her body completely recovered once again. It had seemed that whenever she unleashed a seal, her entire body rapidly healed, like the aura of light that bathed her completely renewed the nun. and to top it off, she still had one more seal after this if Hikari couldn't survive this one.

"You won't escape this time." Elesia said with a fierce determination, stepping closer to the angel, but much slower this time. It seemed that now she sacraficed speed for power, proving the weapons destruction as she pulled back on the handle. When she did, the pile driver burst out, creating a shockwave forth that obliterate the entire line of pews before her, creating a devestating wave of devastation as the shockwave cleared most of the church's distance in a shockwave.

Hikari's surprise was genuine. She saw Elesia rise up, her wounds completely healed, holding an incredible weapon in her hands. Hikari however reacted quickly. She tossed aside her bow, bringing her empty palms out in front of her. As Elesia pulled on the handle of the weapon, Hikari called up all her power and forced it in front of her. Her golden wings glowed with light as Hikari materialized a shield in front, and just in time too. Elesia's weapon emitted a terrifying burst of power, a shockwave blast that would've killed Hikari had she not thrown up defenses in the last moment. The blast slammed into her shield, shattering it to pieces. But it saved Hikari. She got blasted back, flying through the air, her mouth open and screaming in pain. She slammed hard into the far walls of the temple. creating a large impact crater where she hit. She stuck to the wall, body limp, blood dripping out of her mouth.

*Cough cough*. Hikari coughed out a mouthful of blood. Her vision was hazy. Such power! Even with her shield, Hikari had taken a lot of damage. She touched her chest, where the worst of the blow had struck. It hurt like hell. There was probably something broken inside. Hikari could barely move.

"Dammit," Hikari thought, "What's with that power?"

It had been awhile since she last had to unleash her second seal. In fact, only two vicious creatures had seen it. One was Von Strommsfelle, a vampiric lord she had slain by embedding her weapon known as the Atonement right into his heart like a massive stake. The other was full fledged abyssil demon who descended from a pit fiend, and Elesia obliterated to nothing but dust after just four strikes from this weapon. But to use it against an angel, Elesia never would have thought it would happen.

"Stay down." She said bluntly, force in her words as she demanded it, actually sparing the angel from any more pain as she went for the Ark again. Elesia certainly wasn't as fast with this weapon as she cocked forth the handle again, essentially 'loading' it for another strike as she went after the Holy relic. After everything she had been through, it looked like Elesia was untouched, truly displaying how after all she sacraficed to the Gods, she had recieved a power no mortal should possess. So if she had the Ark as well, who knew just how powerful she could be?

'It's all for the good of humanity... this angel will never understand.'

"No!" Hikari gasped as she saw Elesia going for the ark again. She kicked off the wall and flew over to the ark. Her entire body hurt, and every wingbeat caused her great pain, but she had to stop Elesia. The power of the ark wasn't meant for mortals to bear! She flew in front of it and threw out her arms, blocking it entirely with her own body. Her golden wings and golden armor shimmered, still perfect though they were splattered with Hikari's red blood.

"I can't... let you have it!" Hikari said, "If you have so much power, why do you need more?" She coughed again, blood coming out of her mouth. "Ugh," Hikari said. It hurt so much right now, her body. "You'll have to kill me to take it," Hikari said. She raised her hand, wincing in pain even at that little motion. The flaming sword she used before appeared in her hand again. She held it shakily with both hands in front, pointing it at Elesia, defiantly blocking her passage.

Due to the steep decrease in Elesia's speed, Hikari managed to easily intervene between her in the Ark. But as the angel stood between her and the holy Relic, a dark scowl came to Elesia's face, looking at her like she was no more than an obsticle, ready to terminate. The angel was severely hurt, Elesia could see that, and she knew that in one, maybe even two strikes from this thing if she was lucky, the angel will be nothing but a corpse. But it seemed she didn't want to back down, and raised her flaming sword, it was a pity really.

"Are you sure that's wise to stand before me?" Elesia said coldly, her teal eyes piercing right at Hikari's. "When I strike again, The Ark will remain, but you will not." This said, refusing to answer Hikari's question, the nun raised her weapon forth, aiming the massive pile-driver towards the angel, her hand tightly gripping the massive handle and ready to pull back. She gave Hikari just one chance to move aside, it was the most mercy she would give her battered opponent. Afterwords, she would strike. Normally, Elesia would have taken pity, aiding the angel and doing all she could for the holy creature. After all, outside of here, she was still a highly religious woman, and cared so much for those who were dedicated to the lord. But right now, for the Ark, she wouldn't let her stand in the way, even if she was already injured.

Seeing Elesia readying her weapon, Hikari prepared for the worst. She wasn't going to move. Her sword shook in her hands. It wasn't going to offer much protection at all. Hikari knew that should the next blow strike, she would probably die. But if she died, it would be worth it. After all, she would die in service to heaven, and her soul would be redeemed. Ariel would watch after her in heaven.

"I will not move," Hikari said, "Do your worst. Lets see if you really can kill me."

Hearing that answer, Elesia slowly closed her eyes, feeling a sense of pity that such an answer was what the angel chose. It was really unfortunate that it would have to end this way, but Elesia didn't seem to have a choice. Raising her weapon known as the Atonement, she held the massive trigger in her arms, and pointed it squarly at Hikari, ready to unleash the lethal shockwave that would eradicate her body from existance. With a final sigh, she had come to her decision, and readied herself to attack, speaking a few final words in prayer before she would.

"In nomine patri et fili spiritu sancte... Amen"

With a loud click, Elesia pulled the trigger, and in a white blast that anchored the room in light, the shockwave unleashed it's devestation. It seemed like Hikari's life would have come to an end.

But instead, Hikari was very much left alive, in fact, the attack never even struck her. She would see that Elesia was only a few feet in front of her, and the Atonement was pointed directly upwards, the shockwave missing her entirely. However, she had it aimed at the girl's blade instead, the massive pile-driver only focused on knocking away her weapon and probably stunning or even maiming her arms, but certainly not killing her. Instead, Elesia just let out a long sigh, looking at her with a hurt expression, like this whole fight was starting to deeply sadden her.

...Hikari was right, she couldn't really kill her.. could she?

Hikari closed her eyes when the weapon fired again. She knew her mortal body was going to be destroyed by the blast. But it never came. She opened her eyes, and found her sword knocked out of her grasp and sent flying into the air. It landed right in front of her, point down, fires extinguished. She sank to her knees, her body refusing to support her anymore. She coughed a little, blood coming out of her mouth.

"Why didn't you kill me?" Hikari said, looking up at Elesia, "I'm in your way, aren't you going to remove me?"
