Ninjette vs Asami Asagiri: Kunoichi Crossover

Asami's new theme, by ONE OK ROCK - The Beginning began to play in the AFW Arena. What made the crowd give a collective surprised yell was the fact it was playing on a night when Tension was being taped. The Asian burst out of the backstage area, heading to the ring at a fast run. Once there she would leap up from the floor to the apron, near a corner of the ring, and then nimbly scramble to the top turnbuckle. Balancing on her perch, Asami crossed her arms over her ample chest, posing for a moment before pumped her fist into the air, let out a wild yell, and then threw herself into a backflip. Landing on her feet in the ring she gave the crowd a grin before heading to her corner, waiting on her opponent.

Normally, Asami wouldn't come near a Tension ring. Not that she had anything against fighting men. It was just that the early days of mixed fighting in the AFW didn't go well, and kind of left long time members of the Friction side more than a little wary of Tension. However, Friction's match card for this week was full, and Asami, who wanted to get back in the ring as quickly as possible, was offered a match on Tension by management. She accepted on the condition that the match was by standard wrestling rules and now, here she was. However, when she found out this morning who she was scheduled to fight, Asami had to admit, she was more than a little interested.

This, Asami thought gleefully, she just had to see.

At long last, the day had come. Kozue had been waiting to take on Asami for years, and the fated moment was finally upon on her…

...no, that wasn’t totally true. Not totally untrue, though.

Back when Kozue first joined the AFW, she’d had a hard time deciding what sort of gimmick to roll with. The ninja thing seemed like an obvious choice, a slice out of real life, but she was a wee bit iffy on it, since Asami had already cornered the market on AFW wrestling ninjas.

She’d wanted to do a match with Asami, tie it in, but she was a Friction wrestler, and more to the point, she wasn’t active at the time. So Kozue just let it go and took on the whole Ninjette thing. Stuck with it ever since.

But now, two years later and shit-ton of matches and history to go along with it, things were coming full circle. Kozue vs. Asami. Kunoichi Clash. She was so ready.

Kozue came bursting out of the curtain as [url=https://youtu.be/PI_Al_0HbUg]music[/i] began to play, bouncing to it as she made her way down the ramp, ponytail bobbing to and fro as she neared the ramp. She slapped a few hands here and there, smiles around - but the second she reached the bottom, a wild, wiry grin crossed her face as she stared Asami’s way.

Kozue broke into a short run, dashed in under the bottom rope, slid over to the middle fo the ring and popped to her feet, bouncing straight up.

”Okay!” She landed, then held both of her hands out, with some hints of caution on her face. ”Quick question before we go. Something I always wanted to ask you, nagging little thing.”

Kozue leaned forward and pointed at the natural treasure that was Asami’s chest. ”How do you handle the flips with all that stuff on your second floor? Do they act like ballast Or is it like a tight rope sort of thing, where the weight kind of centers you.”

Asami watched as Ninjette made her energetic entrance, a grin on her own face. The American's slide carried her to the middle of the ring, so Asami stepped out of the corner to meet her opponent.

As Ninjette stated that she had a question, Asami nodded. "Sure, go ahead!" the Japanese woman said in response.

Then she let out a short, surprised, but delighted laugh at Ninjette's question.

"You know, you're actually kind of on the mark with the second idea. It's something I'm so used to that I don't think about it....but if I had to try and explain it, I guess I'd say....counter-weights? Yeah, that works. My turn!"

She held up a finger to halt the referee who was waiting to ring the bell.

"I've got to know....how does a girl from Jersey come to learn ninjutsu? Was it like a Karate Kid sort of thing?" Asami asked, a smile on her face.

”I see. Got sort of like a Mai Shiranui thing going on.” Kozue leaned forward, nodding her approval at Asami’s technique. And the amazing rack she had going on.

Kozue took a step back, doing a little stretching, getting herself nice and limber. This was actually going to be a nice change of pace for her - aside from being only the second time she’d taken on another woman in a straight match, it was also a rare opportunity to try her luck against someone fluent in a similar style to her own. The last time she did something like that was with Gato Blanco...a match she lost, but came close on. This time, the winds might swing in her favor.

Asami’s questions dragged her back into reality fast enough, as her eyebrows perked up. ”Jersey Style...oh!” She snapped her fingers and shook it off. ”Short story, it’s just something I put on my signup sheet because I couldn’t figure out what else to write for my style. There’s a longer story to it, but it’s the sort of thing I’d rather talk over a drink. Might even buy you one for it…”

Kozue took another step back and raised her fist, bent her knees, moved into her fighting stance.

”...if you beat me.”

Asami cocked her head to the side as Ninjette talked. She was disappointed that she wouldn't get to hear the the origin story of the American ninja, at least not tonight. But, then again perhaps the right right beforea match wasn't the best place for story telling.

As Ninjette took her fighting stnce, Asami felt a slight pang of apprehension. This would be her first match back since her time as a vigilante ended. She feared that the habits and instincts learned while fighting in the streets would cause her to hurt someone in the ring. Sure, she had sparred, mostly against Dixie, but that didn't match the rush of adrenaline that a full on match brought on. And it was in those moments that Asami worried about what kind of person she'd be: The thrill seeking, wrestling martial artist, or the ruthless vigilante.

Well, one way or the other, she was about to find out.

"Well, it had better be a really good story, to match the fight we're about to have....." Asami stated, easing herself into a combat stance, fist cocked back at her hip, her other hand extended palm outwards. She felt her pulse quicken, in anticipation of the action to come.

When the bell rang, Asami pushed aside her reservations and sprang forward, her fist lashing out in a karate style punch at Ninjette's chest!

Kozue bounced on her heels, her smirk growing wider and more devilish by the second. There was a little tension in the air, and while Kozue was eager to get this thing started, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t the major contributor. Asami looked eager. Maybe a little too eager for a match with nothing at stake but the customary bragging rights. It was the kind of look she’d seen on her own face in replays, back when winning was way more important to her than just having fun.

Kozue could respect that fire. Didn't make a difference to her, wouldn't stop her from kneeing Asami in the face or anything, but still. Respect.

"Comeatmecomeatmecomeatme-"

Kozue’s muttered prayer was answered when the bell rang and Asami started things off with an appropriate bang, coming her way with what would’ve been a nasty strike…

If Kozue hadn’t done a quick step to the side and dodged it at the last millisecond. As Asami’s arm passed, she reached over, hooked her own under her fellow kunoichi’s shoulder, then fell flat on her back while she pulled up. The end result? If it worked like it was supposed to, Kozue would use Asami’s momentum against her with a Japanese Arm Drag.

Asami struck with all the speed and force she had, but Ninjette was waiting, countering the Asian and lifting her off the mat with the Japanese arm drag!

Asami cursed in her native language as she went up and over, hitting the canvas back first. This wasn't the way she had hoped to start this match off!

The impact caused Asami to let out a brief yell of pain, but the brunette kept moving, looking to roll to the side and get back to her feet quickly...

Kozue’s back had only been on the mat for a second before she raised her legs up, swung them forward, and popped back to her feet with a slick kip up. Catlike grace and speed.

”Alley oop.”

She was oozing with confidence. Maybe a little too much, but starting off on the right foot was a good indicator of things to come. And speaking of feet…

As Asami started to get back, Kozue moved back in, wanting to strike while the iron was still nice and hot. She moved in fast and threw out a wild right hook, looking to crack her knuckles right across the side of her foe’s face.

New Jersey Style Ninjutsu, indeed.

Asami had to wonder if she was suffering that 'ring rust' thing people were talked about when they were discussing a returning wrestler. She had attacked a fellow martial artist with a strike that was pretty easy to predict right out of the gate. She deserved getting tossed on her ass for that mistake. Ninjette, just by virtue of her success in Tension, was a proven, skilled opponent. Perhaps Asami had made a mistake in deciding to face someone like her right off the bat? Then again, she reminded herself, very few matches in the ring were decided by the first move. She was still in this!

*Keep moving!* she told herself mentally.

As she scrambled back to her feet, Asami caught a glimpse of Ninjette moving towards her. When the American's fist flew at her face, Asami's arm came up, blocking the blow.

"No you don't!"

Then in one motion, Asami would grab the arm and turn her back to Ninjette while ducking low, looking to quickly flip the other woman over her shoulder so she would land on her back. The Tokyo native would then release her hold on the arm.

"You flip me, I flip you. We should just start up a pancake restaurant at this rate..."

Kozue had picked up a number of different, effective moves as a wrestler, honing her style and improving the rough-and-tumble approach to fighting she’d come into the league with. Flips, kicks, flippy kicks, grapples, a handful of submissions, even a few suplexes if her opponent was light enough…

...which Asami definitely seemed to be. Kozue was feeling a snap suplex, sooner or later…

...but nothing compared to just busting someone in the mouth, which Kozue attempted to do. And failed.

-”Guh!” Kozue cried out as she was flipped ass-over-teakettle, landing right on her tender butt bone. Despite what some people thought, though, Kozue’s ass was not plush enough to act as a natural buffer, and falling flat on the damn thing did hurt.

”Ninja Pancakes.” Kozue’s sat up quick and whipped her leg around in a wide arc, trying to hit Asami’s ankle and take her down with the sweep. ”I’d buy. Have to cut 'em like throwing stars, though.
