SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata

Ayaka was starting to get more desperate to turn things around, that was what had caused her to go for a risky move like the clothesline. She had already experienced first hand what happens when an opponent gains the upper hand at the start of the match, and while this was not a proper Summer Splash event in the truest sense of the word, it was still one of the best and most important matches of Ayaka's career, therefore she wasn't going to hold back on little bit. Sadly Katori was not messing around either, easily moving out of the way of the brash clothesline, picking Ayaka up and slamming her down in a nasty, but rapid backdrop. The spinebusting surge of pain shot across her body upon impact, causing her yelp rather loudly in pain. Desperately trying to stop Katori from getting an opening, Ayaka rolled away to the center of the ring, clambering back onto her feet and trying to forget the pain that was now now starting to dull.

"Just because you say 'No Offense' or ' Not being rude' doesn't make the statement after it any less offensive!" Small bits of veomn laced and dripped off those words, as Ayaka lifted her arms up to invite the former wrestle angel into a lock up. It was again a risky move, but at least this time, Ayaka had already planned ahead. She pretty much knew what she was going to do. She just hoped Katori would take the bait.

Katori didn't hold onto Ayaka after she slammed her with the Backdrop, as getting right back up to press her assault was her plan. She didn't faze or took important notice of the violet head rolling away from her as that was expected and just quickly pushed herself back onto her feet. Even with so little done in this pre-event match, the growing crowd is already having fun.

Once back onto her feet, Katori looks to see her opponent back up herself. "It's just me trying to be nice here." The angel said in response. When Ayaka brings her arms up, indicating she wants to lock up, Katori comes in close and brings her arms up too. She thinks this could be a set-up for something, but she cannot bring herself to ignore a chance to lock up.

So, when the successor comes in, just about to lock up with her opponent, she'll do a quick lunge at her. Katori does this to surprise and throw Ayaka's guard down, but she still wraps her arms together into the violet to lock up with her. With this, she'll have a slight advantage if it does surprise her as she struggles to overpower her opponent before Katori attempts to try something out if she'll get the chance to do it.

Katori took the bait, she took it good. But the lunge was unexpected And she flinched in order to anticipate another attack. That meant that when they finally did lock up, Ayaka was at a disadvantage. Katori had puhsed pretty much 3/4s of the way in. Leaving Ayaka with the final quarter. It was worse though. Ayaka was struggling to hold. The problem with lockups is that the close to defeat you are, the more awkward it is to transfer power, Ayaka was stronger more than likely. She thought she was at least, her years of street fighting should have made her. But Katori didn't need it as she was pushing her strength from an almost straight arm, while Ayakas was bent at a werid angle.

The fans loved it. They loved seeing the former wrestle angel get back into the ring and did what she did best. And right now even the fans could see that Ayaka arms are shaking, struggling to contain the sheer force of Katori. Ayaka was pushing with all her might to maintain her position, precious energy burning away. Thankfully she never intended to hold it for too long, letting the lock up fail, hoping Katori was pushing hard enough for her to lunge towards Ayaka, Ayaka would thrust her knee out to smash it into Katoris gut, followed by the force of her going forward, Ayaka hoped it would be nasty enough to put her back into the fight again.

It seems as if the lunge had more of an effect then what Katori had initially thought. It completely threw Ayaka off her game and it gave the angel a bigger advantage and was easily able to overpower and force the woman back. She wasn't even using her full strength and had pushed her so much already, it was shocking to say the least. Katori did grin though at her progress, to which the crowd was cheering for. Upon inspecting she notices how Ayaka's arms were shaking which shows she cannot maintain this much longer.

The Mighty Successor planned to take advantage of that initially, but it was already snuffed out. In a quick motion Ayaka released her arms from the lock-up and delivered a knee to Katori's abdomen. She wasn't pushing forward with enough force to send her into her opponent and so was standing in place when she took the blow. The knee hurt and it made Katori let out pained grunt upon impact. But since the violet didn't instantly follow up it wasn't enough to stun the angel.

After rubbing her tummy briefly, Katori will lunge her arms at Ayaka's head to grab it, she'll send her own knee into the woman's abdomen. Following if able to in a quick swift move, Katori will lightly leap up and bend her legs inward and press them against her opponent's chest, letting gravity handle the rest by dropping down onto the mat and slam Ayaka down on her legs with a Lungblower to knock the wind out of her.

It felt good to knee Katori. She knew the sort of experience that she had and knew that only her best would defeat her. That was why landing the knee was so important. Sadly it wasn't enough to stop Katori from counter attacking. Ayaka let out a yell when she felt the hands grab onto her head, stopping her form moving anywhere, which in turn set her up nicely for the returning knee strike, hitting perfectly, causing Ayaka to yelp, her mouth forming a 'o' shape as she felt the throbbing pain continue after the strike. Ayaka was in no position to counter attack at this point, and for her it was only going to get worse.

Katori jumped up and pressed her legs into her chest, wondering what the heck she was trying to do. Less than a second later it was revealed. Katori fell backward,s bringing Ayaka with her. Suddenly she hit the canvas and Ayaka went chest first into her legs, driving the air right out of her chest, causing a huge pained grunt to escape from Ayaka. She would just lie there, ontop of Katori's leg. The impact had stunned her, forcing her to regain her breath before doing anything.

"Whoa..." Was all Katori had to say after what just happened. She was successful in stunning Ayaka with a knee to the gut and then proceeded to bring her down and slam a Lungblower on her. What she did NOT expect was that the violet stayed slouched on top of her legs, as under normal circumstances whoever is subjected to the Lungblower would bounce off the user's legs and land on her back. But not this time, and it really surprised the bluenette.

It wasn't a big deal though, as Katori unfolds and lifts her legs up to throw her opponent off of her, and in the direction towards the ropes. With Ayaka catching her breath it was a good chance for the angel to use.

Katori will roll over onto her front to help push herself back on her feet, from there she'll jog towards the ropes and Ayaka at once, leaping over the woman's body as she came by. The Mighty Successor will then jump up and land her feet on the top ropes before pushing against them to bounce off, demonstrating a basic Aerial attack by coming down on top of Ayaka with a light small scale Moonsault from the ropes.

If this was ever a fighting game, right now Ayaka's health bar would be flashing red right now. That power move that Katori had pulled winded her beyond belief. Right now there was nothing she could do to recover, other than keep taking long and painful breaths. Breathing was now a chore, something that Ayaka had to focus on. And for everything that she was focused on, that was more thing not focus don her opponent, who could do whatever she wanted.

And whatever she wanted she did do. Katori seemed to be going for some kind of perfect victory, or something like that. Now lying on her back, Ayaka continued the laboured task of drawing breath and pumping much-needed oxygen into her body. During that time she noticed that Katori had jumped over her, though why she was unsure. She wouldn't have to wait long to find out however as Ayaka could hear the crowd cheering more. And that as a rule of thumb was never a good thing. That meant that someone was planning something, and since Ayaka was on the ground, Katori could be the only other person. With that from nowhere, Katori came down on top of Ayaka, slamming into her stomach and forcing all that air that Ayaka had been working on right back out. Ayaka's chest bend backwards pointed upward from the force of the moonsault. Things weren't going her way right now, and if she didn't do something soon, she was going to get defeated rather embarrassingly. But for now, she needed to get her breath back and deal with whatever Katori had planned for her next.

The still growing crowd went wild after Katori slammed onto her opponent with the Moonsault from off the ropes. She always felt good after doing an aerial move from the ropes or the turnbuckle, especially if it was a Moonsault, as it gives her the feeling like she's flying. Katori pushes herself up a bit and looks over at Ayaka to see her struggling under her. Feeling curious, Katori repositions herself over the violet to straddle her and looks down at her face.

"Hmm..." Looking closely the angel sees she's struggling for air right now, and since Ayaka was more or less an amateur she can pretty much be pinned and lose easily right now. But it's too early for that still and Katori isn't mean, plus she wants to give the crowd a good match regardless if she wins or lose.

So she smiles and stands up off of her opponent and walks some distant from her. "Let's let her have a quick break to breathe now, shall we?" Katori will say out loud enough for those around to hear as she walks over to the ropes to lean her back against while waiting for Ayaka to recover.

Being beaten until a bloody pulp was humiliating, but being told to take a break was somehow even worse. The frustrating thing is, she needed it. Ayaka wasn't expecting this sorta thing. Slowly she climbed back up onto her feet, however. Her breath still haggard and staggered, but now at least she had some airflow. Glaring over at her, Ayaka almost snarled at her. She took a step closer and dropped down into her fighting stance. She knew that the only way she was going to defeat this former angel was to keep getting her on the counter attack, as her speed advantage negated any sort of power advantage that Ayaka could ever bring to the table. But for Katori to strike her, she might need a few buttons pressing.

"Screw you! Thinking you are all high and mighty. Thinking you are all that, because you were in a better league and all that. You are nothing, nothing at all. And it is going to feel SO good to watch you crash and burn in this match!. Now come on! Attack me, and don't hold back, cause otherwise it will be all over" Brave words, but Ayaka stood by them, the little rant had boosted her confidence somewhat. Not an awful lot, but enough to convince her that this wasn't a lost match. Not yet. Plus the crowd rather liked the words too.

Katori watched and waited for her opponent to get back onto her feet from against the ropes, surprisingly even the crowd was patient as well. Once she saw Ayaka back onto her feet she pushed herself from the ropes and stood firmly and waited til the violet was ready to continue on. The glare she received made her frown, and the following speech even more so. Katori really doesn't like it when people assume something completely false about her, especially if it's something like calling her egotistical as she's nothing like someone like Beauty Ichigaya at all.

And while the crowd hated the speech of what they heard and boo'd Ayaka, they at least were more approving of that last part. That same final part made the Successor harden her expression, she clenched her fists, and walked over to the woman whom looked like she was ready for her. "You're right, I am nothing." Katori will say, and when she got close enough to Ayaka, she'll throw a right jab at her chest.

Only for it to stop before hitting, as she did a feint to trick her opponent and will quickly attempt to swing a left hook at the violet's face. "I'm just a girl who wrestles for fun and sport that doesn't care if she wins or loses, but who also has a lot to live up to!" The angel finishes after landing the hook, followed by her quickly leaping up to do a complete 180 spin and send a back kick at Ayaka's chest.
