Maxi vs Ronin - Clash of the warriors!

Maxi had been tackled out his proverbial boots at this point, for a big guy Ronin could certainly move. Indeed faster than the average goon on the streets, the nameless warrior certainly had more to him than met the eye. In contrast Maxi was clearly honest with his gameplan quite often, though it was kinda unknown to the martial artist with the pain that was shooting into his back. Though the guardian of the seas was trusting in his ability to fight and endure, he'd nearly met his end quite a few times in the past and got out alright.

Ronin sought to take advantage of the situation, moving to grab hold of Maxi by the head. More importantly the head area, on reaction that made him try to grab hold of the clutching arm of the nameless fighter. "F-Fuck, n-not the hair....." Maxi hissed out, he took pride in that due after all. Ronin's response was to stomp on the guardian of the seas, earing a loud grunt from him. Though what followed was worse.

Maxi's opponent attempted to cinch in a sort of backbreaker, applying pressure on the spine of the guardian of the seas. Oh that was nasty, but practical as well. Still though Ronin had left an opening, and out of desperation Maxi would seek to capitalise on this. Gritting his teeth to try and ride the pain out the martial artist, and deliver a hard balled fist in the hopes of blasting Ronin hard right in the jaw. Maxi could certainly do one thing right, punch. Hard.

Ronin was just getting a little too into the match; he'd apologize for the hair pulling later, when he was complimenting the guy on giving him a good match. Right now, though, he was just working with what he had, in order to make things all the more fun and challenging not only for Maxi, but for himself! He managed to yank that backbreaker in nicely, keeping Maxi in his grip. Perfect.

It was fun, to say the least. But things were changing things around, and fast. Even if he was paying more attention to Maxi, he didn't know how he would be able to deflect that punch in time. It was a bad opening, one that Ronin would curse after that fist slammed into his jaw, and badly. He let out a loud yell, moving to push Maxi off of him as he fell backwards.

No matter what, unless Maxi intervened, Ronin would end up on his back, once again, a position he was starting to dislike a lot. He growled softly, before moving to try and clamber onto all fours. This way, he would be able to watch Maxi, wait for him to stand up, if he wasn't already, and try and knock him down by trying to slam into his legs. Maxi wanted to show him how he punched? Ronin could punch him too. And hard.

Being a martial artist meant you could hit hard, and Maxi had in the past punched flying wooden boards into pieces. Granted it wrecked his hand but the guardian of the seas took pride in that feat, as well as bottle chopping. When all else failed simply striking more often than not got the job done, and it served to break not Maxi's back but rather the attempt done by the nameless warrior. And not a moment too soon.

Maxi rolled away with a grunt, his right hand moving to rub his attacked area. The martial artist hadn't recalled anyone he had fought trying to bend his back like a piece of taffy, nobody on the streets had that methodical approach. But still it served it's purpose for Ronin, though Maxi felt that he should at least take solace in the fact his limbs weren't getting put through the burner.

Wordlessly the man from Okinawa proceeded to mosey on back up to a vertical position as he got near Ronin, only for the silent fighter to take the pragmatic route and clip Maxi in the legs. Giving a loud yelp Maxi would stagger away to the side, falling onto his backside as he did so. Maxi wasn't downed yet though, and decided to try and cut his losses and back away to try something else to stay on his toes.

That would be far from the last time that Ronin would go after Maxi's limbs; it wouldn't even be the last time he went after Maxi's back! He had a particular fondness for anything that stretched his opponent out, just because they tended to hurt a lot more than he had to give, and they were so easy to actually get people into. Not Maxy, though. Maxy knew better at this point, and he was keeping his distance. It was the smart move, with someone like Ronin, who tended to fight more as a powerhouse than anything else, but didn't have very good defenses. But Maxi had gotten him on his toes since moment one, with those nunchucks being pulled into the fray. Which he had more than paid for already; but Ronin still had a few more tricks up his sleeves.

When Maxi yelped and fell onto his backside, Ronin grinned lightly; perfect! But he knew that the moment he moved to try and get on top of Maxi, it would just end up with the man scrambling away, probably even getting a good punch in while doing so. He had to be a bit smarter than that. So, surprisingly, Ronin retreated for a moment, shifting to the side and watching Maxi try and stay on his toes. His idea, however, was far worse than just trying to punch the guy. As Maxi moved to get back to his feet, Ronin would move towards the staircase he had thrown earlier. This time, he would move quickly with it, trying to whirl it around and slam it into the martial artist as he began to stand!

Maxi wasn't liking how this was going, Ronin was delivering good counters to most of the offence that he had performed. Though it wasn't that which could give the guardian of the seas cause for concern, it was the retaliations and pragmatic assaults that the nameless warrior was delivering on Maxi. The opponent had proven to be a rather tough SOB, which only exacerbated the problem!

Grunting as he did so Maxi prepared to dig down deep and get back into this fight, he'd battled more nastier pieces of work during his days travelling the land. And the fact that he was here was proof Maxi got out alright, but still perhaps this was just self assurance that it'd all turn out to be fine as the man of Okinawa prepared to get back up to a vertical base and start a counterattack against this nameless warrior.

Ronin's response? Turn around and swing some steel steps right into Maxi! It was just sudden enough to catch the guardian of the seas off guard, though he just barely managed to get his arms up in time. Though it did little to help defend against the sheer force of that attack, it earned a very loud yelp from Maxi and the momentum sent him staggering back. Though one of his arms managed to grab hold of the bottom rope at least to stop him from falling back down again, trying to salvage what he could of the situation. Maxi gritted his teeth and tried to yank himself upwards and roll back into the ring from under the bottom rope, though the effort of all that was really doing a number on Maxi's arms. But a tactical withdraw was sorely needed right now.

Ronin wasn't a pushover, that much was clear. Maxi wanted to walk in with a pair of nunchucks? Fine, he wouldn't hold back at all. That's why he was unafraid to swing the metal stairs at the other man in the first place. So when he managed to do that and keep his opponent on the defensive, he gave a small grin to himself. The yelp was good enough to get Ronin convinced that he was doing all of the right things. He moved forward and dropped the stairs, in time to watch the man working to try and get back into the ring, tugging himself up by the ropes. Ronin, however, didn't do anything to stop him from doing so. He had better plans.

As Maxi managed to slip into the ring, Ronin followed after him. He could have gone for a weapon, but there was no need to do so. He already had the other man on the ropes here, and he was going to keep going until he got the win. He grabbed for Maxi as they stood up, trying to go for a quick punch to the other man's gut. If he managed to do that, he would work to grab for the man's head -- moving for a piledriver on Maxi. He was close to winning this, he could feel it!

Maxi knew when things were going pair shaped, to live on the streets for even a week required you to know when plans were failing. And sometimes you needed to get out of town, there were a few places where Maxi was marked to say it politely and wouldn't be welcomed back. Some might call it running, but Maxi never ran from a fight like this and called it quits. Ronin was giving a good battle here, the nameless warrior was certainly proving that. It was bringing back the feelings Maxi missed when he settled down and took up working in a Jeet Kune Do dojo.

Ronin was on the hunt though, no doubt intent on pressing his advantage against the guardian of the seas. This was reminding Maxi of the one time he ended up getting into a square go with a Yakuza tough, nobody in that bar came out looking pretty. Ronin socked Maxi hard in the gut as he made to get up, leaving the guardian of the seas reeling and keeled over.

The next thing Maxi knew he felt Ronin prep him for something, with where Maxi was it could be a powerbomb or a piledriver or something just as nasty. As soon as the realisation hit him Maxi's panic instinct kicked in, the man from Okinawa would seek to quickly get back and then try to jump up and clip the nameless warrior right in the side of the head with a quick enzhiguri to knock Ronin senseless!
