Hina vs Akiko: Lights Out Match

Match: Last Woman Standing
Rules: No DQ
Arena: Standard Ring except for the arena will be blacked out, minus the one spotlight over the ring.

Its been awhile since Hina was last in a ring. After being thrown out of the ring at Avalanche by Diabolica, Hina was eager to make up for that loss. Her opponent was Akiko Hoshi and she seemed to be something of a kunoichi herself. Hina knew some of the few main ninja families in Japan, but after watching on of her matches online Hina didn't recognize anything that linked her to any of the main families. Perhaps she belonged to one of the many lesser know families. After checking that her attire was in order, she was suddenly called by a stage hand to make her way to the ring.

There wasn't any need for an entrance to be made since the arena was empty. Lights lined the ramp and a single spot light kept the ring lit. Hina walked up the stairs and stepped into the ring with the referee. She calmly removed her bell from her long braid and placed it under one of the turnbuckles. Now she waited for her opponent to join her.

This would be a new one for Akiko. A match with the only light being shined on the ring in an empty arena. The idea sounded strange. She wanted to read up on the concept, but apparently this was a first for the AFW. And to add to that her opponent was apparently another kunoichi... well, a real kunoichi if what she read on this Hina Sarutobi was true. While Akiko herself learned ninjutsu from books, this girl apparently came from a line of shinobi. If that was the case, then this match would be a very interesting. Hopefully she doesn't start calling me out as a fake or something... I can totally see that happening. The whole ninja shtick was her friends' idea to begin with. Akiko herself just liked the concept of doing her vigilante work unseen and studied how to do it... but in a match like this it would be put to good use.

"Hopefully this goes well..." She rolled her shoulders and prepared herself for the fight. Her outfit was in order. Her mind was cleared. She was ready, and headed out to the ring. The stage was empty and lights were all turned off save for the one spotlight in the ring. It was actually kind of intimidating. No cheers, no music, no announcements, it all just made this whole thing really seem like a battle between shinobi.

She quietly made her way to the ring, entering with barely sound. She felt obligated to do so due to the setting. The slightest noise in this arena that wasn't related to battle just seemed pointless. She then stepped into the light of the ring, revealing herself to her opponent. She didn't say a word, only giving a quick glance to the referee before looking to her opponent. This silence wasn't due to her usual standoffish nature, but sheer awkwardness. Her opponent was about her size and had a very serious look. Talking to her, again, felt pointless due to the nature of the match, but at the same time she didn't want to be the one that caved first and said something... you know, un-ninja-like.

Hina stood still as she waited for her opponent to meet her in the ring. It didn't take long and the empty arena just made her focus on Akiko even more. She nodded to the ref as she wanted to know if Hina was ready and that's when the ref signaled for the match to start. The single ring of the bell echoed throughout the arena and Hina didn't flinch as the arena went silent again.

There were a few questions that Hina wanted to ask, but it didn't seem her opponent wanted to speak yet. Trying to get the first move, Hina ran forward and quickly turned her back to Akiko as she tried to hit her with a spinning back kick to Akiko's stomach.

With no words to say and their confirmation given, the fight was on. Her opponent moved first with a kick. Akiko took the hit, standing her ground and grabbing onto her opponent's leg once it connect with her stomach. The initial impact made her stagger slightly, but she remained standing. Ow, ow... okay, she can throw a good kick, but... Akiko tightened her grip on her opponent's leg, pulling to hopefully bring her to the ground.

Hina's kick connected, but Akiko was able to take the shot and keep hold of her foot. Now she had to balance and hop on one foot as Akiko tried to pull her and make her fall on the mat.

Using one of her hops, Hina jumped and rolled over as she tried to kick Akiko with an enziguri.

Akiko thought she had her opponent, but it turned out she fought pretty well under pressure. Hina's second kick had definitely surprised Akiko. Still holding onto her opponent's leg, Akiko took the kick to the face, being forced to release her leg and step back to get some distance. "Ugh..." Akiko brought a hand to her face, rubbing the sore area. Thank god I train or I'd probably be seeing stars... Not that she wasn't already, but she was still standing and conscious. "Not bad..."

Hina's kick hit home and allowed her to escape Akiko's hold on her other leg. She got to her feet and heard her opponent speak for the first time.

"..." Hina didn't respond,but she decided to nod in agreement as she took a fighting stance again. Moving forward again, Hina went to lock up with Akiko and try to get her into a side head lock.

Akiko was in pain from Hina's kick, but not dazed completely. She quickly readied herself for her opponent's approach, choosing to lock up with Hina to see what she was made of. Probably a rash move, but she was curious to see how they measured up to each other. As Hina moved to get her from the side, Akiko tried to counter by elbowing Hina in the stomach.

Hina locked up with Akiko and tried to lock her arms around her opponent's head. Akiko resisted by throwing an elbow into her stomach.

Hina was stunned a bit from the elbow and loosened her grip on Akiko. She didn't give up as she tried to regain her grip and control Akiko's head.

For just a moment, Hina's lock on Akiko slacked. Now! She fought to get out of the hold, trying to pull herself out of her opponent's grip as she tried to regain control. She wasn't going to just let Hina control the match for this long. Much like how Claire fought Akiko, she wasn't going to get her opponent a moment to rest. As she tried to force her way out, she threw another elbow at Hina's stomach, really hoping to work in some damage on it and make a soft spot for later.
