'From Russia with Eagerness...Hopefully'

"Not bad, remember to tuck the head in, it's something that anyone can overlook sometimes" Kelly reminds her even though she did notice Tabitha's form and saw her doing it. The next few minutes would be strictly working on that. Even if Tabitha's form was good Kelly wanted to see her really get it down.

When they go on to the rope running Wes would mention that grabbing and coming off the ropes may seem simple but there is a trick to doing it without the ropes possibly feeling rough. He mentions that "Depending where one wrestles one may see different styles of ropes. Some places use hemp rope that is tape wrapped, some use cables that are covered by some type of hard rubber, and some places who knows. Usually ring ropes are tight, but not too tight. Unlike boxing rings where they are very loose. And related to that you'll see rings of different sizes and shapes depending where you are. Thankfully it's pretty much the same technique. Sometimes one can do it a bit different say due to their body type, but it's something that should come natural if you work at it."

Kelly then goes off the ropes a few times at regular speed before slowing it down to also a gag-like slow-motion speed to give her a better look at it, and for a small moment talked in slow-mo, but that was just for comic effect but didn't do it for very long.

Tabitha would continue to try perfecting the bump, as Kelly explained it, for a few minutes longer. The next aspect was to learn how to navigate the ropes, another fairly basic skill, but a needed one nonetheless.

Wes would explain different types, but Tabitha was mostly disinterested at this point. Kelly would come in with some much needed comic relief mocking Tabitha's desire to do things in slow motion first. Tabitha would set out upon her new task and almost start to wonder how long it would take before she would see some action.

Wes had a feeling some of this might not seem interesting and tells her that when he was starting out he too wasn't too interested with some parts but knew it was all important to note.  Kelly jumps in "You only stayed with it 'cause you had a crush on me and wanted to get with me" she tells him with a grin.  Wes smirks back and says "And I succeeded" and he also playfully sticks his tongue out at her.  Which it was true in a way, when he did first start he was there just supporting another friend but tried it himself to try to impress Kelly, and they ended up dating a short time later, but as Tabitha can see he wasn't 'along for the ride', he went all out.

"I bet you're wondering how long it might take for you to get an official match" Kelly brings up.  "Well that depends.  There is nothing wrong with getting in there quickly if you're prepared, but do you want to know just enough to get by or do you want to make a really good impression? For some people it can take as little as a few months to get everything down, for others it could take a couple of years until they see their first match.  We can try to speed things up if you'd like, but each student that comes through those doors I treat them all seriously and want to be sure they're ready for the first time they hear the bell ring."

She then lets out a small sigh "Technically speaking though, where your manager told me you'll be doing most of your competing their standards aren't that good.  Some of which all they can do is roll around the ring and fondle each other.  Granted they've got a lot of really good and talented wrestlers which is great, but again there are some people there who have no business being within fifty feet of a ring let alone in one."  Wes tries to calm Kelly down, knowing she can get pretty passionate and emotional with matters like this.  After getting her mind settled she asks her "If you want I can talk with your manager to see if there is any time frame he wants you to be ready to go for, but I want to be sure I do my best with you so you can be at your best when you get out there.  Even if you don't know everything that's fine, just don't stop acquiring knowledge until the day comes you don't want to do this anymore."

Wes then asks Tabitha "From what you've learned so far do you feel you can handle a few minutes of action?  Not just with what you know but maybe try something new on the fly if you feel confident enough?"  If she says yes then Wes will ask her to choose either him or Kelly and have a mock match for roughly three minutes, full contact.  Kelly does have a small viewing lesson thought up for them to do, but she likes Wes' suggestion.

Tabitha would listen to what both Wes and Kelly had to say. It was true for the most part that Tabitha simply wanted to get through it and get into the ring for real. Maybe this live match of sorts would reinforce the need for proper training.

Already having been in the ring with Wes originally, Tabitha would ask if Kelly would be the one this time to get in the ring with her. In all fairness, Tabitha was likely to get beat fairly soundly, but it would also show her exactly where she was. Tabitha would ask Kelly not to hold anything back as they began their three minutes long bout.

That was alright with them and Wes stepped back. There was a bell in the corner of the ring and he rang it.

Kelly was ready to go. Knowing what she knows Tabitha has learned so far she decided to be fair to start off and was willing to lockup with her. Otherwise she might have been a bit sneaky and do a couple of quick strikes before the lock up but was willing to keep it in first gear for the opening seconds, but she was prepared to quickly pick it up as she moved towards Tabitha.

Now it was time to put what she had learned to the test. Kelly was in the ring with her and Wes was manning the bell. This was going to be a timed contest so there was no reason to worry about burning herself out now. It was almost a dream come true right now. Even though it was just a spar, it was real now.

Kelly looked to be moving to the middle of the ring and Tabitha would move to meet her. They were likely to tie up and then Tabitha would try to take Kelly down to the ground just as Wes had worked on with her. First she would try to establish the headlock if Kelly would allow it and then she could see what happens afterward. In a perfect world she would try to hiptoss Kelly to the ground if everything went in her favor.

Wes stood out of the way as the two girls did their thing, though while he did not say he would do it Wes would do the appropriate referee stuff should what they manage to do warrant it.

Kelly did go over with the hiptoss, and while she was making note of Tabitha's form she would not comment on it at this time as Tabitha went to go for the headlock. Tab's form wasn't bad though Kelly managed to remove herself from Tabith's grasp, though it looked like that Kelly hurt herself in the process as she was favouring her head a bit. In reality she was keeping an eye on on Tabitha as well as trying to get Tabitha to drop her guard and lure her into something. If Tabitha went for a ground strike Kelly would quickly roll out of the way, but if Tabitha wanted to follow up with anything by grabbing hold of her she would look to counter and trap her with a type of roll up pin. If the latter happened Wes would begin to make a pin count.

Did Tabitha do something wrong? Kelly somehow got out of her grip when she took her over in the hip toss. Now it looked like Kelly was hurt somewhat, but Tabitha would at least try to recover herself and get the headlock set in once again. Trying to recall what Wes had talked about with her, She was trying to think about what to do next.

The only thing that Tabitha woulc think of was to try to stand up and attempt a bulldog. It was a bit of a stretch, but with Kelly looking like she was hurt it might just work.

When Kelly felt Tabitha getting close enough to get back on her she would quick grab hold of her and roll her up into a pinning situation. Wes didn't have time to process Kelly's methods with her teachings in this one, all he saw at the present was her rolling up Tabitha and Tab's shoulders were down. Wes began to make a pin count as if it were an actual match, hopefully Tabitha was paying attention to that detail.

Wes seemed to be as surprised as Tabitha was as she was shifted onto her back. It was a pinning situation, with Tabitha in danger of being pinned if she did not get free. The realization would come as a shock for Tabitha as Wes would loudly slap the mat.

"One!" Wes would shout and Tabitha knew she was in danger. The panic setting in that she was about to get pinned by Kelly. Tabitha would start flailing her legs to try and tip herself back over ontop of Kelly. This would prove to be unfruitful as Wes would slap the mat a second time.

"Two!" Tabitha would hear and almost as if she could only go one way to get free, she would shift her weight backward as she let go of the headlock on Kelly. Essentially giving up on her position, Tabitha would try to scramble back up to her feet while assuming Kelly would do the same.
