Fancy Dancin' and Dinin'!

It had been a few days since Clyde's match against the masterful mat based technician, Abbey Abraxas. His back was still sore from that bout, but he couldn't be mad, Abbey was a very talented wrestler and he respected her. And beyond how sore he felt, it was a good match and cured him of the blues he felt during his fight with Carmen. Although things were far from perfect, his sister was being distant and he was nowhere near a title belt... Among other things. There was one thing Clyde was looking forward to, and that spending some time with Eliza outside of the ring for once. She certainty was the closest one to him these days and he sought to repay her for her Christmas gift. And if she still felt bluesy for her loss to Akiha, he hoped this would cheer her up.

This cost him a bit of a penny but he reserved a table for two at an English style restaurant. It was run by Japanese folk of course but it seemed to cater to more high end tastes and those who wanted an authentic feel of European culture. The restaurant was located in a fancy hotel in Tokyo and Clyde was already at his table, sitting beside a window that led to a balcony outside. He usually wore his own suits but this time he was wearing his Christmas gift, the super snazzy and fancy tailored black suit that Eliza got him, adjusting his tie while he waited for her, recalling sending her a letter to meet him here at 7 p.m.

He sighed as he looked down at his attire, he didn't know why he felt nervous. It wasn't a date or anything... And yet he felt like he going to start sweating bullets. He had never been to a place to fancy before and just felt out of place, the sooner Eliza was here, the more comfy he was sure he'd feel.

Eliza had arrived back in Japan a few days ago, she had an alright year previously. Changing her ring attire into black and red akin to the flamenco dancers had been the right call, and her popularity at this point among the fans of tension was right up there with the current champions. Or at least that's what Eliza guessed, as deft as she could be in ballrooms shared by nobles current social media was lost to her. She still used a CD player!

She had gotten in touch with Clyde upon her arrival back, during the holidays things had been too hectic. There was about a billion questions from her relatives on various things, like how was Japan and why did she take up wrestling and other things. Eliza did what she always did, smile and answer. The general consensus was that while the family might not have fully approved of the dancing passion going from the ballroom to the squared circle, they did approve of how she got her act together and made some serious ground.

That said Ms Harenwood was looking forward to meeting Clyde, he was a good man. The British woman had gotten the location of where to meet and at what time, thus she'd made sure to dress herself for the occasion.



Eliza emerged from her taxi outside the hotel, she was getting looks from people. No doubt fans of Tension who were amazed to see Ms Harenwood in something other than her usual ring attire, they'd see that soon enough when she took the fight to Tension once again. But for now Eliza promptly made her way inside, and got directions to where the restaurant was.

Eliza's eyes scanned the room and she smiled as she ID'd the cowboy, the British girl would make her way to the table and say "Clyde! Hello there! It's good to see you again." the dancing passion gave a polite bow in greeting before taking the seat opposite Mr Gastin.

Clyde was fiddling around with an empty wine glass, waiting for Eliza to appear. Finally though, he would hear her voice and instantly he leaped to his feet.

"Eliza!" He nearly shouted as he got into attention like a soldier, giving her no chance to answer before he gave her a quick hug. "It's good to see ya too! H-How uh... Have ya been!? How's yer relative?" Said The cowboy as he took his seat opposite of Eliza.

Suddenly he didn't feel as nervous.

Eliza felt like she was at her home away from home, the apartment was the first part of it and meeting Clyde was another part of it. Growing up she had never really socialised with men properly, granted she had danced with them on a regular basis. But it was mostly women who had been friends with the dancing passion, it was one of those things when it came to the upper class. Something that the British girl had only really noticed in hindsight, but there no point musing on it.

Ms Harenwood giggled lightly as she got a quick hug from the cowboy, Clyde had been one of the highlights of her time in Japan. Back when she was still finding her bearings and trying to handle the massive popularity she had gotten since her arrival, Tension normally had a bad reputation at times. But Eliza felt that it was the folks like Clyde that helped prove there was good apples among the bunch.

The British girl sat down, crossing her legs under the table as she did so. That was a habit of hers when ever she sat down, years of dancing practise was to thank for it. Clyde had inquired about how Eliza had been over the holidays, Eliza smiled before saying "Well the holidays went by alright, although I was assailed by dozens of questions regarding my current profession. My Aunt had been feeling ill, though thankfully she's getting better. I would have stayed further, but my parents insisted that I go. To enjoy my youth and all that~"

Eliza removed her coat, draping it on her chair before saying "Well Clyde, how have you fared? Any new year's resolutions come to mind for you?"

Clyde listened intently to everything Eliza had to say, he loved her vocabulary and the accent she carried. Her manner of speech was far more attractive than the way he talked. "That's good." He said upon hearing Eliza's Aunt was going to be okay, but not before giving a light chuckle at the idea of Eliza's people bombarding her with questions about wrestling.

"I've been alright! I had a close match with Abbey Abraxas! I didn't win but it was a real good fight! Really competitive and close. Can't be mad." He honestly wanted to fight her again as soon as possible! It was nice having pleasant, competitive matches for a change instead of blood feuds. His loss to Abbey made him want to work harder.

"I... Think the only resolutions I have is to try and take better care of the people closest to me. Ta' be nicer ta' people and just try and be a better person." Said Clyde, recalling his past mistakes.

Eliza had learned how to be proper in social situations, things like how one carried themselves and their tone of voice was key. Ms Harenwood naturally had that posh Brit accent, but it was a relief to be able to let her hair down and relax with a good friend. There wasn't a need to make sure to curtsy or bow and all that jazz.

The British woman was a bit surprised by what Clyde had gotten up to, Eliza smiled and said "Abbey Abraxas huh? I've heard about her, she's pretty tough from what I've seen. Though I mostly fight guys as you know, but who knows. One day I might dance against Ms Abraxas, that would be sure to make the fans happy." Ms Harenwood gave a little chuckle after her words, since coming to Tension Eliza had gotten into the whole wrestling business quite well. Perhaps it was due to being kept in a gilded cage for most of her life.

Clyde then revealed his new year resolution, or sort of at least. Ms Harenwood nodded and stated "Sounds noble of you Clyde, it does. You can expect my aid in future should you need it, as for me I plan to rack up the wins in Tension. To prove the might of the Harenwood you might say, otherwise I'll never hear the end of it from my pesky little Brother. Shall we order something now?"

Clyde's eyes widened with an equally big smile. "You and Abbey? Oh that'd be somethin'! Careful though, she might blow up yer legs." Clyde said, recalling how Abbey had stretched and torqued his back to its limits.

"And you're helpin' me preform my resolution's right now!" He said brightly as a waiter approached the table.

"I didn't know you had a brother..." He muttered. "I think you've proved you're plenty strong, Eliza. You only lost because Akiha fights dirty, but yeah, let's order." Said Clyde as he turned to the waiter.

"Just an eight ounce steak, friend."

Eliza laughed at Clyde's little warning should he cross paths with Abbey, while the notion of having her legs damaged wasn't an entertaining one she actually did like it when people talked about the legs. Granted Eliza wasn't the tallest chick in Tension, but those lower limbs could walk for days and was her pride and joy. "Well, good thing I have insurance taken out on them~" Eliza muttered with a slight chuckle.

The mention of Akiha made Eliza bite her lower lip, but she didn't comment on it any further. That was probably going to put a damper on any showings of the British girl in Friction, it mattered little as the next opponent that was put in the way of the dancing passion was going to serve only to put her over.

For dinner Eliza simply ordered some pasta with a small steak, she watched her weight after all. As she waited with Clyde the young woman would state "Ah yes well one of my Brothers at least, the rest tend to be overseas studying. Oh before I forget on the topic of holidays, I take it you got my gifts okay? It's just I didn't know your address and all that."

Clyde chuckled softly at Eliza's words, he'd like to see those legs under protection too! Although he would then frown when he noticed his mention of Akiha seemed to bother her. Clyde couldn't recall a time Eliza ever let something get to her, the cheap loss probably ate at her, seeing Eliza like this didn't sit well with Clyde.

"'Brothers'?" Clyde asked with a wide grin. No wonder Eliza ever only had one boyfriend, her brothers probably scared all the other guys away!

"Yeah I got yer gifts, I'm wearing one of 'em!" Clyde said as he stood up briefly to show Eliza how the tailored suit fit snugly on him. "How in the world did ya get my measurements so perfect?" He asked curiously before flashing her a sly gaze out the corner of his eye.

Eliza leaned forward in her seat, putting her hand under her chin as she looked at Clyde in his suit. Upon getting the question of his measurements Eliza put her hands together and stated "Well Clyde, I've fought against you in the ring and side by side too. So I think I made an accurate guess, one doesn't spend years in the ballrooms of Britain without developing an eye for attire." that was true there. Eliza's dresses had been tailor made, just the right dye of red and length to wow the crowd.

Ms Harenwood had a rather large family, though she didn't actually know everyone in it. "Yes I have 3, and a couple of Sisters. I'm the youngest out the lot. I was never alone though, in fact with my Brothers I sometimes watched wrestling with them. Though I only really paid attention when the women were duking it out, perhaps because of how they fought differently for the most part than guys. Funny at the time I never actually considered that being my career of choice." Eliza said, it was quite a nice thing this. The British girl hadn't really explained her family background and why she choose what she did to people, in spite of how well known she was by the fans of Tension.
