Getting to Know You Even Better

eThe gym echoed with the familiar sound of pads slapping against flesh, as Valley’s shin kick found its home in the side of Kara’s knee, connecting cleanly. The first full hit of the match, on one of the hardest bodies she could remember hitting since she joined the AFW.. She hesitated for a moment - if that long - before she followed up, just to see how her younger opponent fared. Judging from the way her base stayed solid, barely fazed? Very well.

Valley wasn't deterred, and since there was now a tempting opening to take advantage of, she decided to go for it. She took a quick step back, just to make a little space between them, and then closed back in on Kara, spinning around as she did. Valley brought her leg up as she rotated and shot it out towards the iron wall that was Kara’s stomach, hitting her with powerful spinning heel kick - one of the more reliable weapons in her arsenal.

First the blur, then the thick impact of a heel connecting against the Scar Queen's stony abs, earning a soft grunt from her as air's forcibly exhaled from her. In the middle of keeping her balance, Kara was caught by another swift kick of the veteran fighter. Though she wasn't quick enough to block it, she remained sturdy, forcing through the sharp kick as Kara's powerful hands grab hold of Valley's leg.

From there, Kara would advance forward while holding Valley's leg in an attempt to bowl her over onto her back, where she would promptly drop her bulky body on top of her to force her into a leghook pin.

There was a moment, when Valley landed the kick and Kara didn't bend over and recoil like she was expecting, where she thought she might have messed up the kick, somehow. Maybe not enough force. Maybe not enough torque. But now, everything about her attack was fine - Kaar was just a little more of an immoveable object than she'd originally surmised. But faster, too.

”Guh!” Valley let out an undignified grunt as suddenly found herself on her back. She instinctively kicked out and rolled to her feet, coming up with a wild smile.

”Slick.” Valley shuffled forward and tried to get Kara into a collar and elbow lock up, reaching out to take her head on. She has some ideas, but she also wanted to get a proper appreciation of the new blood’s strength.

Kara smiles in satisfaction as she managed to topple the older woman and bring her to a pin. Even though it didn't last long, she felt good about getting one in so quickly against an experienced opponent, albeit this is likely due to Valley taking things easy on her. When Valley escapes, she quickly stands and faces her, shaking her arms out and readying them for the next move. "You're pretty slippery yourself. Bet you get told that a lot though, right?"

Kara finds herself locking elbows with the veteran, finding a good grip around Valley's collar. Her muscles flared as Kara finds a good footing, gradually exerting pressure from her end of the lock. From here, she could attempt a knee strike, but figured Valley would get plenty off before she could just one. She planned to use brute force to deter her first before making a move.

"Not as often as I'd like." Valley had as quick a chuckle as she could afford with the situation, and then she went back to work.

Valley got exactly what she was looking for, as Kara's strength began to steadly push her back across the ring, making her quickly lose real estate. She buckled down, tried to stop it by getting her legs more into the action, but that only slowed the advance to a minor degree - if things were allowed to progress, her back would be up against the ropes.

Before that could happen, Valley ducked down, pushed up out of the lock up, and tried to swing around behind Kara, reaching around her body to secure a waist lock from behind. She clung tight to the bigger girl and drove her forward, trying to make her run into the ropes before she could properly react.

Kara couldn't help but smirk as she was able to steadily push back the older woman, nearly bringing her to the ropes. Though she wasn't one to brag about her strength, there was something satisfying about displaying a dominating amount of might over others. However, the moment wouldn't last, as Valley finds the perfect opportunity to slip around Kara. With her opponent suddenly gone from in front of her, Kara's left to stumble forward, until she feels to arms wrap around her waist and lock her in tight.

"Wha-?!" Kara soon finds herself forced to stumble forward, grunting as she's pushed up against the ropes with momentum that would have her coming dangerously close to flipping over them. Kara grabs hold of the ropes when she collides with them, her upper body bending forth over them for a brief moment before she starts to straighten herself out, shaking and flexing to try to free herself from the smaller woman.

A couple of the girls near the apron of the ring jumped back when Kara was pushed towards it, and Valley could hardly blame them - if someone her size came hurtling over the ropes, she wouldn’t want to be in the way, either. Fortunately for Kara and them both, she grabbed hold of the ropes before that could happen and saved them all from the spill. Unfortunately for Valley, it put a little spoiler on her attempt to hit the bigger woman with a German Suplex, something she would’ve needed a bounce from the ropes to accomplish with any serious power.

Instead, when Valley jerked back for the throw, she wound up stuck, unable to pull her away and complete the move. With that idea gone and her advantages dwindling, she decided to just go for the simpler Plan B: she pushed off of Kara’s waist, slid back, and lashed out with a roundhouse kick when she was at the right distance, aiming the point of her toe at the Scar Queen’s side, looking to strike before she could turn around and properly defend.

The ever crafty Valley was glued to Kara. Every attempt to shake her off meant nothing as she stubbornly refused to let go. There was a jerk against her body, and Kara was forced a step back. She could feel that this woman was going to throw her, or at least try to. Kara had a good grip on the rope, so even if the veteran had the ability to lift her - which could have very well been the case for all she knew - she wouldn't budge unless Valley were strong enough to take the whole rope set with her.

There was a brief moment of surprise as she feels Valley let go. Kara immediately turns to attempt to face her, but the swifter woman acts and the Scar Queen catches a powerful kick to the side of the gut. "Oof-!" The large woman staggers, flinching a bit at the blow as her body bends slightly against its force.

Valley moved back after the kick connected, almost expecting Kara to be coming after her or countering this time, too. Not so. Lucky her, she had a little window. And even though this wasn't a serious match, some of her typical instincts were coming through. She had to show off. Just a little bit. Couldn’t hurt.

When the Scar Queen went down, Valley went up. She did a quick jump and brought her legs around Kara’s head, getting a good grip with her thighs. She jerked her torso backwards, pulled her younger opponent’s head along for the ride, and tried to send her flying head-over-heels with a hurricanrana. it was a pretty common move in the AFW, anyway, so she might as well get some firsthand experience.

Kara was begging to understand just how much of a speed advantage Valley had over her. In an instant during her recovery, a pair of legs found a good grip over Kara's head and she rears back, reaching to pull the smaller woman off. She would not be quick enough, however, when she's suddenly pulled forward, gasping in surprise as she found herself flipping forward and onto the mat, ending flat on her back with Valley sitting upon her. Their was a brief moment of disorientation before Kara would move to lift Valley off of her and pick herself up.

"Wow," Kara would say once she's up, resuming a stance with a wide grin, "Not gonna lie--that was awesome."
