How the West Was Won

Belle sat up as Clyde pulled away. Her green eyes focused on the Texan and they softened just a bit. It was hard to watch him struggle and she wanted him to be with her of his own free will. It would happen eventually, but right now he wasn't in a very good state.

Belle hopped up and put one arm on Clyde's back and took his hand with her other and leaned against him. "C'mon, Clyde." She said in a soft tone. "I think everyone's had enough fun fer one day. Go on home'n rest." She said as she began to slowly walk Clyde towards the door.

Clyde didn't know what Belle was going to do, but when he took his head and leaned into, speaking those soft words before guiding him to the door, he felt some genuine warmth. Why exactly was he was so confrontational with a girl who had taken care of him like this? Sure she was pushy and didn't seem to listen... But...

He gave her hand a soft squeeze and spoke softly. "Thank ya for... Takin' care of me..." He said honestly before trying to slip away ans scurry out the door, all these confusing feelings, he just wanted to go to bed and sleep off the pain right now.

But even then, he couldn't spare taking a second glance at Belle before leaving.

"Mmmmhmmm..."

Belle winked at Clyde as she looked back and blew him a kiss before she closed the door behind her. She then pressed her back against it and slumped to the ground. "Tarnation..." She muttered somberly. Trying to get that boy to behave sure was work and although her part of the fight wasn't as rough as Clyde's, she was still feeling some aches.
