Catch Your Breath

Alaina had a hold of Valley and quickly moved her arms to place her speedy foe in a full nelson hold. She wanted Valley to be extra secure for the full nelson suplex she planned to deliver to her fellow Californian! Alaina wasn't out to drive Valley's head down into the canvass as hard as she could, but this move even at less than full power would do a number to Valley if it connected.

After what Alaina saw from the others as they went at it, today wasn't quite full speed..... but very damn close!

Valley felt a sinking feeling as Alana's hands wormed up under her shoulders and locked in the full nelson. She could tell from the way her body tensed what was about to happen, and what she experienced was the unmistakeable dread that came from knowing you were about to eat a suplex, and being completely unable to do anything about it.

"Nuts-"  Valley cried out as she went sailing through the air in a perfect arc.  If this had been a German Suplex, maybe she could've flipped out of it. This was a little trickier, though. Even if she tried, with the way Alaina was holding her, it might not have been the best landing, and the Amazon's grip was solid. This was happening.

"Ugh!" She crashed and burned on the canvas and fell back, flopping down on her chest while she nursed the back of her head.

The full nelson duplex hit, and it was quickly becoming one of Alaina's favorite moves. Technique and flying moves had long been her biggest shortcomings. She'd been working extra on those. As Alaina pulled Valley up by the arm she eyed a corner turnbuckle, trying to irish whip her friend over to the corner as hard as she could!

Alaina was wary however, as Valley has shown that she can reverse anything and everything in a split second! That was an aspect of life inside the ring Alaina could only hope to bring to the table someday.

Alaina's suplex had done a good job of knocking her silly, and combined with the effort of this being her third go in the ring, she was starting to feel some of the effects. She wasn't quite in the danger zone, but this was reaching the point where she felt less like she was in the middle of a spar and more like she was in the middle of a match.

So, when Alaina whipped her over to the turnbuckle, the best she could do was turn her body so that her back hit it instead of her chest, and she still crashed hard enough to make the ropes shake on impact. Nasty hit.

She held onto the ropes and slouched in the corner, with her shorty, sweaty hairs splayed all over her face.

Alaina had Valley in a good position get a good working over. Alaina opted for a quick kick to the mid-section, followed by an attempt to hoist Valley up to a sitting position on top of the turnbuckle! Alaina wanted to try to show off a bit of her slightly more agile offense. Was she even in the same league in that aspect as these two? Hell no. Was she better than before and less one-dimensional in her attack? Alaina liked to think so.

Alaina would climb up and stand in front of the sitting Valley and try to wrap her legs around Valley's head and lean back to deliver a top-rope hurricanrana!

The punch was a little unexpected. Not exactly Alaina's style, but she was busting out many new tricks today, and this one was quite effective. Valley was bent over by the powerful punch, left gasping after the wind was forced from her lungs.

Being lifted up on the turnbuckle was a bit more unexpected. Valley couldn’t quite remember Alaina doing anything up on the top rope before, but she figured the Amazon was going for a superplex. Something big.

But a hurricanrana? Valley absolutely didn’t see that one coming. That didn’t mean she wasn’t able to do something about it, though. She had her own tricks.

Instead of resisting the hurricana, she went into it, aided it, so that it ended up with her on her feet, not her back. She stuck the landing, then went right back to Alaina, twisting around with a full rotation as she hopped towards her. At the end of the spin, she brought her leg up and swung it high, trying to greet her opponent with a tornado kick to the head when she turned around.

Valley as always didn't cease to amaze Alaina as she turned the huricanrana from the top into a perfect landing! Before Alaina could curse in frustration a strong, fast kick came whipping around and hammered the side of her face! Alainas head whipped back from the impact as she felt a surge of pain seemingly in her whole skull! "Oomph!" Alaina grunted as she did her best to supress a scream of outright pain.

Alaina stumbled and staggered to the side, slumping down to one knee and grabbing awkwardly onto the ropes to keep herself from outright falling onto her back. She pulled herself back up, still in a bit of a daze but doing her best to keep her focus on Valley. She knew more would be coming..... the hard part was being able to actually do something about it.

"Woo!" Valley jumped back on her toes and bounced, shooting her fists into the air, cheering on Alaina's expertly executed hurricanrana. Sure, it didn't work on her, but that didn't mean she'd messed up the move or anything. "That was a nice move, big girl. You pick that one up from Julia?"

While she gave the Amazon her due congratulations, Valley was already moving into position to follow up. She raised her leg, looking like she was going to throw another roundhouse kick, but she halted it halfway and jumped forward instead, throwing a jab at Alaina's face.

Alaina was dazed but prepared the stop the kick! She planted her feet under her and raised her arm up to block the kick, but instead of crashing into her guard it merely settled on it. The split second of confusion was all the opening Valley needed to introduce her first to the bridge of Alaina's nose!

"Argh!" Alaina let out as she covered her face for a split second. She once again staggered back but not as badly as last time. She had her back to, but not resting on, the turnbuckle. her eyes were still slightly battered and the fresh sting was still present in her face. Alaina stepped forward and swung an elbow out, not expecting to hit Valley but the defensive elbow could possibly buy her time to get her bearings after two shots to her head in quick succession!

Valley recoiled after the punch, backing up as Alaina took the punch. She always felt a little weird smacking people with her fist, even with the pads on. Felt meaner. More personal. More dangerous. But at least she was getting to the point where she could reliably use a little boxing to even things up.

She steeled herself and moved in, reaching out to grab Alaina's head and drop her with a snapmare. What she got, though, was a sharp elbow to the face for her troubles, delivered with impressive force as the Amazon lashed out. Valley staggered back, reeling form the blow, but she summoned her resolve and lashed out with a roundhouse kick towards Alaina's stomach as retaliation. A little desperate on her part, too, but she knew that giving a woman like this too much room to breath was fatal.
