A Puff'd and Reckless Libertine

Mercy sighed as she pushed her way through the doors of the AFW complex. She had been fired from her rather cushy position as Aurelia Fortuna's secretary by her former employer's employer Lukretia Von Creuzfeldt. She wasn't even sure if Lukretia had that kind of authority (and she WAS checking that out) but she had to prepare in case it ended up being official. TECHNICALLY she was still on as a wrestler, so she wouldn't be completely without an income but she had seen what stipend wrestlers made and it wasn't a livable income without taking advantage of the provided room and board.

If she was fired for real, she'd need a new job and the best place to start was her old job. She really doubted that Lukretia cared if she worked for AFW or not as long as she stayed away from the ring during show hours. Mercy was starting to think that it was not a bad idea as well. With that in mind, she was going to meet up with some of her friends in the legal department and see if she could get in there. They all knew how much of a whiz she was at contracts and her experience as Secretary to the Chief of Talent Relations definitely gave her some experience.

But, did she WANT to keep working for the AFW? That was a question she had to ask herself.

She took a moment to think about it as she watched a match that was playing over the lobby television. She knew the girls but had probably never watched either of them wrestle before. She still pretty much hated wrestling, but... There was something about the place that made her... not WANT to leave. She didn't like THAT feeling one bit.

As Mercy entered the AFW arena a familiar figure walked up behind Mercy. Brittany had a smile on her face as she walked up behind Mercy. "Well Well, looks like the little pink street rat has come looking for scraps." Brittany said as she stood behind Mercy with a wide grin on her face.

"Just think, soon you will be in that ring. You know, since you are just a pathetic wrestler now. Did you join the Kawaii league?" Brittany asked as she just couldn't help but poke fun of Mercy.

Mercy bristled when she heard Brittany's familiar voice. Unfortunately it was familiar even though she had spent a lot of her time working at AFW avoiding Brittany. She sighed and turned around to look at the blonde with annoyed eyes.

"I'm not going anywhere near that ring." Mercy said coldly. "And, maybe I'm just here to visit people. I DO have friends here, you know." Mercy said and scoffed. "Not like you." Mercy jabbed at the blonde. Probably not the smartest thing she could do, but she also didn't like that Brittany was just coming up to her and starting shit and rubbing her newfound unemployment in her face.

"Do you actually want something?" She asked. "Because unlike you, I don't have to be here anymore. Or have to talk to you or anything. I guess there is a silver lining to every dark cloud."

Brittany was actually surprised when Mercy talked back to her. Usually Mercy would try and play nice or try to change the subject. "Oh, and why wouldn't you want to talk to me? I am a very important person around here." Brittany said as she would take a step closer to Mercy. "And you should be careful on how you talk to me. You are just a wrestler now. You have nothing to protect you." Brittany said with a wicked smile on her face.

"Of course, I do have a reason for coming to talk to you. If you will here me out that is?" Brittany said before taking a few steps away from Mercy.

Mercy swallowed hard when Brittany tried to intimidate her. She knew the blonde could break her in half, but still, Mercy didn't want Brittany to smell her fear. She was sure the viper could.

"I still have the law." Mercy said not backing down. "So, if you touch me, I'll have you arrested." She reassured. Still, if Brittany had a point, she was mildly interested in hearing what it might be for curiosity's sake.

Mercy turned her head and looked away from Brittany. "You have a funny way of talking to someone you seem to want something from. Fine. What is it?"

Brittany knew Mercy still feared her and that always gave Brittany a reason to smile. However, Brittany wasn't here to threaten or attack Mercy. Brittany was here for a completely different reason. "So, i hear you are out of a job. And as you know i have been on the rise again. So many people want to talk to me. Between promos, interviews, people asking me for commercial. I barely have time to manage myself and my considerable wealth and investments."

Brittany would then step towards Mercy and place her hand on Mercy's shoulder. "How would you like to be my manager?"

Mercy narrowed her eyes once Brittany finished. She didn't really like what the girl was saying for a few reasons.

"You mean, your bitch?" Mercy said bluntly.

"I'm sorry, but I made good money when I worked for Lukretia and I'm still not sure if working for her was worth it. Considering how you say 'Hello', How would this relationship even work? If you're not just trying to be clever, that is."

Mercy adjusted her glassed. "And besides, I might be good with the law, but I'm not exactly a financial adviser..."

Brittany knew that Mercy's initial reply was going to be no but Brittany was never one to take no for an answer. "Oh Mercy, you were always so short sighted. That is why you were fired." Brittany said with a laugh. "I don't need you for all those things. It would be nice to have only the need of one person but i guess i can't fault you on your short comings."

Brittany then smiled at Mercy again. "Do not worry. If you worked for me the harshest thing that would happen to you would be a few choice words every now and then. It may not look it but i am a very fair employer." Brittany said as she would begin to walk around Mercy as she talked. "You were once the secretary for one of the more powerful people of this business and you had to deal with nearly every wrestler here. So, i figured with your experience you wouldn't mind handling one of the best wrestlers in the business."

Brittany would then reach into her pocket and pull out a wad of money. "I could also use a legal adviser. You know for when my anger gets the better of me and I promise that the pay is great as well." Brittany said as she waved the money in front of Mercy.

"I was fired because Lukretia's a bitch..." Mercy muttered and then looked around. That was probably something she shouldn't go saying too loudly.

Still, Mercy listened to what Brittany said and raised an eyebrow. "You want to be able to keep doing what you do without people getting on your case and without legal ramifications? Not for nothin but you're asking the almost impossible. I'm really not sure how you haven't been thrown in jail or fired already..." She said and then frowned as Brittany waved money in front of her. Her eyes followed it but she stamped her foot and shook her head.

"Listen, Ms. Luvve." She said. That was a LOT of money... She knew that Brittany was rich. She knew rich people and knew ones that could just throw it around. Brittany probably had parents with deep pockets. She definitely wasn't like Lukretia who was far less extravagant than one might think. The woman was shrewd. Brittany probably didn't even know the definition of it, literally.

"I'm not against taking employment with you, BUT!" She said and raised her finger. "I will NOT work for you unless you show me the respect I deserve as an employee. I don't care HOW much money you have, I'm providing you a needed service, so I will not be forced to endure your opprobrious behavior. Do you understand?"

Brittany looked at Mercy with a bit of curiosity as Mercy talked back to her. "Well, i guess getting fired made you grow some balls." Brittany said as before tossing the wad of cash at Mercy. "Fine, i agree to your terms. Think of that cash as an advance. Get yourself some new clothes." Brittany said as she would reach into her pocket and pull out her phone.

"I believe you already know my number. I believe it would benefit us if you gave me yours." Brittany said with a smile. "Oh, i should warn you. I have a pretty hectic schedule. Between wrestling, interviews, training, anger management, and managing my investments. I need someone to keep it all in line. You will be my secretary as well as my manager. The pay will be great as long as you keep up the good work. Do you think you can handle it?"
