Getting started

Hello there everyone. Nice to meet you all~
As you can tell, I'm new here, but by no means new to RPing, I'm already getting a vibe I'd fit in no problem after taking a thorough look around.
But, before I leapt into this all, I wanted to ask a few questions that I was having trouble getting an answer too, if anyone would be so kind as to answer.

Currently, I'm in the middle of making my character - taking one of my older female OCs infact - for Friction. But I wasn't sure where to start once I make the profile. I looked around on the rules, and I wasn't sure what to do once my character is complete. Do I wait for it to be accepted, do I just jump into a match? And where are the areas for casually RPing the characters? I'm just curious, the fighting is great and I liked how it was set, but what about getting started up? I wasn't sure if I just plan up a fight right away, or I find a place to start up with RPing my character first and planning things. I dunno, I guess I'm just curious about open-ended RPing areas aside from just the one topic area 'Backstage'.

Sorry, I get a little over detailed on things at times. @_@;

I was also wondering if it's okay if you could post having your character spectating a match, like being there, but not in the ring, perhaps to build up something later with a character or even learning techniques from watching.

The areas for casual RPing are as follows:

Practice Gym - practice RP wrestling here
Friction - Gym, Backstage
Sex Wars - Anywhere except Arena


In the old days, rookies started by putting their character in the Gym for a work-out, while waiting for anyone interested to drop in.

I myself, though, was taught the ropes by Kelsea-san in an e-mail match for my debut. Lucky me " title="Very Happy" />

If you're confident, you can ask for matches from other people via PM. Be polite and consider how busy some of them, like Kelsea-san, are.

You can also post a challenge in the Notice Board section. Try to make it an RP style post. Like have your girl announce that she is going to take all comers any way they like. That'll usually get people's attention.

Pick what method suits you best.

Once you're established, people are going to come to you for matches- like in my case fufufufufu.


As for having your character watching a match, ask for permission first from both sides. And if you are given permission, don't impede the match by, say, cheering unless you are again given permission. People can get confused over a single post.

Alrighty, this is just what I needed to know. I already read the rules too, and with what you've said, I feel more confident and know what I'm doing now. So thank you very much for answering my questions. =)

Did this Endurance:★★★ nomenclature for profiles come from somewhere else? I had assumed it was zxn's idea.

The first person I saw using the star ratings was Psychopatrick, but I could be wrong.

That's lies. If PPatrick had made it up there would be a sexiness rating.

Edit: Uh, I'm just totally commandeering the thread here, aren't I? Uh, your' character looks great SoI, and starting a discussion or notice board thread before a match always leaves a good impression with me.
