Size Matters

Yeah, this wasn't fear at all. Rebecca knew when someone was scared of her, usually there was shaking and maybe a forced look of determination with some defensive trash talking. This was definitely the look of someone who didn't know what had happened over the past 5 minutes and was now stuck with an amazon staring him down while his sister was busy making the situation worse for him. "See, I know you're trying to play me..." the amazon growled, turning towards Carmen "...But you're right." she smirked, turning back towards Army "So, want to do it?"

Army was confused. That wasn't necessarily a new thing, he'd been confused many, many time since he'd come to Japan. But usually that was just a culture shock thing, the result of coming from a totally different world. This was different. This was him coming in on the tail end of conversation that seemed to have his sister getting him waist deep into shit.

"Want to do what?" He looked Rebecca up and down and up and down. "Want to...one sec."

Army walked off, grabbed a stool from ringside, brought it back and stood on it right in front of her. If they were going to have a face off, he was going to actually look at her face. "So, what, you're thinking about taking me on? I'm a little bit bigger than what you're used to, niña grande. Not like those teeny things you toss around in Friction - I hit back, and I hit back hard."

Rebecca tried not to laugh as Army fetched a stool to stand on to get face to face with the amazon. He was probably the tallest non-Rebecca person there and he still wanted something to stand on. Must, resist, urge, to push. she told herself as the Puerto Rican laid down the gauntlet. "Why not? Does it look like I can't take a punch?" She asked, posturing up to the boxer as Adrian cheered her on from the sidelines.

"Hey, no, no way." Army held up his hands in defense, then wiggled around to keep his balance. For his size, he was doing a pretty good job of keeping up."I am not disrespecting your abilities, big girl. I'm sure you can take a normal punch just fine. Hell, I've seen you in action. But I'm not bringing normal punches - I got a Rodriguez punch." He held up his fist for examination and gave it a good flex, showing off the definition in his forearm. "Tomkos don't do so well against these."

Army's smirk widen as a few of Carmen's girls came up behind Adrian, joining her in the chant. "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Carmen just shook her head with a soft smile, but didn't say another word. All work and no play...

Adrian let out a long "oooooooh" as Army flexed in front of Rebecca, and she had to admit: that was a pretty big bicep that was certainly going to pack one hell of a punch, not that she was having any doubts about the amazon's ability to squish him, in fact: it was only making it more appealing for the cosplayer to make sure this match happened. "And Rodriguez's have a nasty habit of getting knocked the fuck out." the giantess retorted: her memory of the Tomko/Rodriguez clashes being incredibly self serving.

"Seriously, is anything either one of them saying true 'cause I don't know boxing. Was Rebecca's dad a big deal? Was yours?" Adrian whispered, taking a break from the encouraging. All she remembered about Mr Tomko was that her dad ran a boxing gym back in Philly, having been a boxer himself but she didn't know if he was a former big deal or not. While he seemed cool to little Adrian, Rebecca always seemed to not look forward to seeing him. Especially once they started wrestling school.

Carmen broke away from a moment she'd be telling her unlikely kids someday and gave Adrian a little nudge. "Rebecca's Dad more than mine, honestly. They had some good matches, but nothing to conclusive. Honestly..." Carmen sighed. "Tomko was a bit better. Still, it's good fun. Talking trash runs in our veins."

And speaking of which, Army was definitely feeling the moment. It had been a good since he'd really gotten to go face to face and throw dirt like this - one of the thing he missed about boxing was the pre-match shit-talking. Granted, Rebecca was the biggest opponent he'd faced - ever - but those thoughts were in the back of his mind. After Hana beat him, he'd stepped up his training, and he was looking for a way to get a respect boost. He couldn't have asked for better."Let's put it to the test, then." He hopped off the stool and bounced around her, keeping his arms loose and his feet moving. "Been a while since you stepped in the ring, so...say about a week? Enough time for you to get back into shape, get your head right?"

Rebecca's eyes kept track of Army as he bounced around, it was tempting to just say screw waiting and just use one of the boxing rings instead but the Amazon knew this was going to be tough. The way he moved around, how strong he looked. "This is gonna be good..." She growled out with a sinister smile, extending a hand to seal the deal with the Boxer. A week to get back in to fighting shape might be pushing it a little, but the amazon wasn't up for waiting any longer than she had to. Celebrate Adrian's return from the Summer Splash tour to see her favourite thing in the whole world: Rebecca crushing fools.

Army used the ring apron to wipe the sweat off his hand, and then he accepted the handshake. He gave her a nice, manly squeeze, gripping Rebecca's giant hand tight. Not full strenght, but enough power to make her bring out a little of her own beast to fight it. He'd been holding that one in for a while, and he was glad to meet someone who could take it. He wanted to fight the biggest and best in the league, and it didn't get any bigger.

"Oh, yeah, it will." He smiled back, though his own lacked the evil glint that Rebecca was using. She was confident, he'd give her that. Sort of came with the territory of being tall as hell, something he could relate to.

Rebecca's smile softened as she felt Army squeeze down on her hand, maybe she was being a bit over-eager to go straight from having a match to thinking about breaking the boxer. Army was a family friend, and while she wasn't going to go easy on him, maybe she should be looking at this as an opportunity to really test what she could do without any bad blood spoiling the whole thing. That and she was trying not to laugh at Adrian still chanting "Fight! Fight! Fight!" from the sidelines.

"Goddamn it Addy, we already agreed to the match." the amazon said shaking her head.
