Getting Adjusted

Felina was more than a little confident in her looks, but seeing people look at her the way Ronan was just then made her feel like the sexiest woman on the planet. That had always been her favorite thing about modeling. And a giggle escaped her lips when she heard his response. “Well, I may just have to take you up on that sometime~” she replied.

She chuckled again when he accepted the spar, or more specifically the not so subtle comment he added at the end, then headed to the ring with him. The latina slid under the bottom rope and pushed herself up to her feet, then stretched out her arms and legs a bit. “Special rules? Hmm... How about this. We can either go with striking only, or grappling only. Your pick. Either way, we can go ‘til one of us says it’s enough. Sound good to you?”

Ronan's eyebrows raised when she mentioned taking him up on the offer, the pleasant surprise catching him off guard and the surprised look on his face told Felina that. He recovered quickly though, flashing his signature broad grin at the woman before making his way over to the ring for what might just be round one of their fun that day. "Is that so? I'll be glad to show you a few things after we spar then...or maybe during." He let that suggestion hang in the air as he stretched for the sparring bout, waiting to hear what she had in mind for rules and not being disappointed when he did.

"Since we were both complimenting our bag hitting lets go with striking, lets see what we can do." Ronan said as he turned to face Felina, cracking his knuckles before bringing his arms up to give Felina the ready signal.

This time Felina didn’t directly respond to Ronan’s comment, at least not yet, instead only grinning as she heard his words. She certainly didn’t feel like there was much reason to object, but to accept it so quickly and readily might not be the smartest decision either. Though as things stood, the latina certainly wasn’t going to complain if things “escalated” that way any time in the immediate future.

When he gave his answer in the ring, Felina grinned again and nodded. “Striking it is then.” she replied in agreement. He was right. With all the talk and beating on the punching bag moments ago, it was only fitting to keep this striking-exclusive. “Ding ding~” Felina said, imitating a bell ringing to start the spar, before putting her fists up and crouching into her stance while advancing out toward the center of the ring.

Felina’s knowledge of Ronan’s style was pretty limited. She knew he was a freestyle streetfighter, and that his strikes packed highly impressive amounts of power. Not the kind of thing she was interested in letting herself get blasted with right off the bat, so better to start with some caution. Once near the middle of the ring, she’d stop moving forward and instead shift steadily from side to side while closely following Ronan with her eyes. And the moment he came in range, she’d fire off a left jab straight at his handsome face to get his attention, then follow with a lightning quick right kick aimed at the side of his thigh. Nothing that would do any major damage, but if nothing else she hoped to discourage him from getting to close too quickly.

"This should prove fun for the both of us I think, just don't hold back or anything alright? Its more fun when we go all out." Ronan said as he raised his clenched firsts up, feeling the muscles in his body tensing up in preparation. He only wished Ro was there to make their fight a three way, now that was an entertaining mental image.

Once both fighters had signaled they were ready though all those thoughts and pictures his imagination was coming up with were pushed to the back of his mind. In fact he stopped thinking much in general, whenever he fought Ronan tried not to think too much as whenever he tried to make a plan for an opponent he usually got himself into trouble, he found it far better to just listen to his body's instincts and go from there.

He stood his ground letting her come to him to make the first move, Ronan shifting his weight from one foot to the other but otherwise presenting a stationary target for her. The first punch Ronan saw coming he pulled his arm back to catch it upon his upper arm rather than his face, the force pushing him a few inches to the side but no further. The kick though was quicker and if he had thought about it he would have been too slow to react, however his body reacted to the flash of movement Ronan caught out of the corner of his eye and raised his leg to catch the kick on the lower part of it with a solid thud ringing out as the two legs met. His foot dropped back down and when it did Ronan pushed off of it, lunging in with his left fist rising up for an uppercut aimed at Felina's midsection, his right elbow then swinging up at the side of her head in rapid succession.

“Alright. If ya say so.” Felina replied. A part of her was a little apprehensive about going all out in spars. After all, getting injured in the gym after only one match here wouldn’t exactly make her move to Japan seem very worth it. But as long as she was careful, that probably wouldn’t end up being anything to worry about. Besides, just like Ronan said, it’d just be more fun this way.

Though the combo she sent Ronan’s way held nothing back, it was pretty basic, just to help test the waters a bit and see how he would react. She’d seen his speed and power on display against the punching bag moments ago, but was still impressed with how quickly he was able to respond and deflect her strikes. And perhaps even more impressive was the ease with which he transitioned right into the offensive. As the uppercut came in, Felina crouched a bit and brought her guard down to intercept it just before the fist could drive into her toned abs. But in less time than it took to blink, his free hand was flying right for her head! He’d done well to isolate her guard, but her right arm quickly shot up to protect her skull and take the hit. The impact still pushed her head to the side though, and she took a quick step back to move out of range before he could continue any further.

“Not too shabby. You really do have some nice speed there.” she said with a grin, keeping her fists up and maintaining her stance as she cautiously moved back in. Ironically, her opening combo had partially intended to make Ronan weary of getting too close, but now she was the one carefully minding his range instead. But she looked to change that, starting by throwing a left jab toward his jaw again, then following with a right cross toward his chiseled stomach. If either punch hit, she certainly wouldn’t complain. But the objective here was to try to make him dedicate his guard to the second punch in hopes of leaving his head open for just a split second. And in that exact moment, Felina would quickly fire her right leg up, looking to complete her combo with a high kick aimed at the side of Ronan’s head.
