SS 15 Falls Count Anywhere: River Styx Vs. Angel

Well, the fight was outside, again. That was what Styx wanted most in the first place, so at least she could call that a success. Angel had gotten in one good hit, but it would take a lot more than that to beat a street fighter fighting in the street. This was her playground.

She gripped the barricade hard and started to pull up, slowly and steadily rising up to her feet once more. The audience began to back away for her, wisely giving her lots of space, but the smile on her face when she saw it was short-lived. They weren't looking at her, not even close. They were looking behind her. And upwards. Bad sign.

She turned around and saw those same feet coming at her chest for a second time, only this time from much higher up.

The last kick had been powerful enough to knock her over the ropes, but this one managed to get all the way through the barricade and then some. It broke apart at the seams and she went rolling through the seats sending steel chairs and cheap soda flying as she flopped over and over and finally came to a rest on her back.

She looked like she'd been hit by a car. Felt like it, too.

Angel's boot's slammed into Styx, sending the bigger, more violent woman flying, crashing into the through the barricade and into the seats. She jumped back to her feet, feeling a surge of elation rushing through her as she pressed her new found advantage. She had her now. All she had to do was keep the pressure on Styx, and she could secure the advantage and leave Styx sorry that she had even dared to challenge the Latina!

She stepped forward, past the fallen barricade, the crowd parting and moving back to give the two of them space. With her usual cocky, confident grin spreading back over her face, the Latina leaned down, reaching for Styx's arm to tug her back to her feet.

"Get up, chica..." she muttered, yanking on Styx's arm, pulling her back up. She didn't want to stay out here, surrounded by the crowd like this. It gave her too many bad memories of her loss to Taylor six months before, and she hated not fighting in the ring properly anyway.

She clenched Styx's arm tight, then tried to pull her forward, into a sort of whip, trying to sling the brute back past the barricade and back towards the ring again.

"This is awesome!" Clap! Clap! Clapclapclapclap! "This awesome!" Clap! Clap! Clapclapclapclap!

Styx groaned as the crowd began to break into the predictable chants for their hometown hero. Two dropkicks and they were already blown away. No small surprise, there, and it wasn't a big surprise when Angel hauled her up and tried to send her off towards the ring. They both knew where their advantages were. The luscious Latina was a better wrestler, but Styx was a better brawler, and now that this fight was on the outside, that's where it would stay, if she could help it. And she could.

She couldn't use weapons without getting disqualified, but that didn't mean she could use the environment to her advantage. She was too winded from the kicks to mount an offense, but she could at least hold onto things. As Angel hauled her up and tried to send her off, Styx reached out for the first thing she get her hand on - in this case, it happened to be the shirt of a security guard who was trying to make sure every stayed back.

She got a good grip on him and dragged him along while he yelped and squirmed, trying to use the extra weight to anchor her down. There were very few people in the world that could make Styx go somewhere she didn't want to go, and Angel wasn't going to be one of them.

Angel yanked on Styx, ready to send her flying. She already had her followup in mind, and hearing the crowd chanting around her was filling her with the strength and the energy she needed to carry things through. All she had to do was whip the woman towards the ring, and chase after her. Nice, and simple.

But when Styx grabbed the security guard, Angel found herself pulling on dead weight, unable to send the brute flying like she wanted to do. Angel groaned, but the Latina wasn't out of options yet. She was fairly good at improvising, and if Styx wanted to stay here for right now, then Angel could work with that.

She let go of Styx's arm, and quickly hopped back from her. With a quick twist of her body, she brought her leg up, swinging a hard, fast kick straight towards Styx's midsection!

Needless to say, the security guard Styx was holding on to didn't have a very high opinion of her. "Suéltame, perra loca!" He yelled, desperately trying to get free of her iron grip. When Angel finally gave up on the effort, she released him and tried to return her attention back to the former champion, knowing she'd need both hands for the effort. Unfortunately, that took a second, and Angel only needed half of one for her punishing kicks.

Styx cried out as the blow hammered into midsection and made her body instantly fold up, as the air fled from her lungs. It felt like she'd been hit with a baseball bat, and she was one of the few people who could say that for sure. Standing suddenly became a very difficult task, and she found herself stumbling away - the only thing that kept her from fall over was a convenient snack machine against her back, something for her to lean on while she tried to breathe.

The feeling of her leg smashing into Styx's midsection was exhilarating. It had been far too long since Angel had been able to completely let loose with one of her infamous, hammering kicks, and being able to unleash one squarely into Styx's body, of all people felt simply amazing.

When Styx stumbled back, into the snack machine, Angel was quick to follow her, the Latina unrelenting in her attack on the titan. She came in hard and fast, throwing her leg straight up towards Styx again, aiming her boot right for the brute's stomach, the former champion throwing a swift straight kick right for her gut!

"Okay, okay, okay..."

Stryx had heard that Angel had iron legs, but she always thought that was just an exaggeration. Apparently, it was a light metaphor, much closer to the truth than you would ever think possible, and she was mentally kicking herself for not scouting it out better. These were the same kicks that let Angel hold onto the championship belt for over a year, and they likely hadn't gotten any weaker during her hiatus.

She got another taste of them soon enough, as the straight kick hammered her in the stomach. She was knocked back, and the vending machine didn't do a thing to keep that from happening, as the glass shattered behind her and rained down over her body in a thousand tiny shards. Cheap potato chips and candy bars spilled out onto the floor, and Styx joined them soon enough when she dropped to a single knee.

She shook her head, trying to think through the pain and get coherent. Something was wet on the back of her neck. Blood? Angel had gotten first blood? Good. That pissed her off, and anger was something she knew how to use.

The glass shattered behind Styx, and Angel hesitated, just for a moment. She wasn't expecting that to have happened, but she wasn't going to let up just because Styx had a little bit of glass sticking into her. She had done her homework. She knew how dangerous Styx could be, and she knew that the thuggish woman wasn't going to be stopped by a little bit of blood.

Styx went down to one knee, and Angel came rushing in again. This time, she was going for something a little closer then her kicks. She rushed towards Styx, and as she neared her, she raised her leg up, trying to slam a hard knee lift right into the center of the brute's face.

Closer. Closer. Closer.

If there was one thing that Styx learned, it was that the appearance of weakness could be even more useful than the reality of strength. She looked weak, vulnerable, so Angel was moving in for the kill. A mistake. One of the last one she'd be making today.

She focused and shook her head, knocking more of the glass off her back and letting it clatter to the side. She didn't look up, wanting to maintain the illusion that she didn't see Angel coming. But she could hear the footsteps, even over the raging crowd, as the former champion's boot crushed glass underneath her heel. She could see the shadow closing in. It wasn't much, but it was more than enough to get Angel's position, and that was all she needed.

Styx burst upwards as soon as she was close enough, practically leaping straight into her with a shoulder tackle. She wound up taking a hard knee in the stomach, and after the last two hits that sucked like hell - but it would more than worth the pain if she could knock Angel off her feet and get on top.

Angel rushed in towards Styx. She moved as fast as she could, bringing that knee up as sharply as possible, intent on ramming it as powerfully as she possibly could into the stomach of the brute. She wanted to end this match as fast as possible. She knew that Styx could outlast her if the match went on for too long, and she didn't want to run that risk.

But in her haste, the Latina was reckless. She wasn't expecting Styx to explode through the air towards her, not like that. When the brute rammed into her, it felt like Angel's body had been caught by a wrecking ball in midair!

Angel went down hard, landing on the cold concrete floor on her back, her body bucking upwards  as the pain of being slammed down rushed through her. She gasped for air, desperately trying to suck back in what Styx's shoulder had forced out of her.

Just like that, Angel was down, and the ball was back into Styx's court.
