Facing the Consequences (for Maxy)

Hearing Daisuke, Yamato turned back to her just in time to catch the ball, though it did smack into his chest and force a small grunt out of him in the process. Still, he smiled and waved. “Thanks!” he called out before leaving with AJ and Alex.

Just after they’d paid for the ice cream, Yamato got a call from Lita and answered the phone as they walked back to the car. When she questions him about the texts she’s been getting, Yamato gave somewhat of an awkward chuckle. “Not sure where the ‘husband’ stuff came from, but I sorta took over as Alex’s coach for the game today. It’s a long story, but I can explain later. It went well though, and Alex had a good game. I’m sure he can’t wait to tell you about it.” he said, figuring it’d be better if Alex told her about the big home run himself.

“We made a stop for some ice cream, but we’ll be back soon. So we should be there by the time you get back. See you soon.” After hanging up, he then drove back to the house with AJ and Alex, where they finished their ice cream while waiting for Lita to come home.

Lita didn’t object to Yamato taking the kids out, since they wouldn’t be having dinner for another few hours or so. She got back about 40 minutes after they finished talking on the phone and when she sees Yamato she casually pins him against the nearest wall. “Sooo, Daisuke made people think you’re my husband. Maybe she’s predicting the future hmm? Well I wouldn’t be against that one day maybe, would you?” Before he can answer she gives him a slow and somewhat long kiss. It would be up to him if he wanted it to lead into anything before dinner or not, but if not she would ask him how the game went. But if Yamato was ‘getting ideas’ she’d save it for dinner conversation.

When Lita came back, Yamato went to greet her and was just about to open his mouth to speak he found himself pinned up against the wall. And before he could answer the question that followed, a sudden kiss form the brunette shuts him up then and there. Yamato melted into the kiss, and if not for the kids still being up and about he wouldn’t have needed a moment to think about what this would “lead into.” As it is, he elects to show some restraint at the moment.

When asked about the game, Yamato gave her a summary of the events that happened out there, from unexpectedly taking over as the coach, to Alex’s big hit that won the game. He also explains how Daisuke had vouched for him at the game, and how that likely had something to do with the whole “husband thing.”

She doesn't mind if Yamato doesn't answer the question, since it is still early for them and doesn't bring it up.

Things seemed to add up with how Yamato was explaining things. She knows Yamato has to head back but suggests before he goes he talk with Alex about it. While she doesn't say it to him maybe Alex can somehow convince him to come back maybe closer to when the season ends for a bit if things work out timing wise. While she also doesn't say it she thinks AJ might nag him to do just that when he's back in Japan. She does tells him that with what happened and with how good it went gave her a lot of think about, your typical long distance relationship stuff. While she does own her parent's old house in Japan she doesn't plan on moving back because of the kids. With how Alex was doing with his life she didn't want to take all that he had going for him away, but she knew the suppose from them for her relationship was there too. She might alsi feel guilty of taking the kids across the world and have them be away from their father most of the time.

She would ask him if she wants to talk about some important things before they head out, which she would mention the above, but if not she would not press the issue. She would hint it is something that can wait, but at least starting the discussion early might be a good thing. Either way at some point before they all go out to dinner she gets a message from Daisuke. She looks at it and gives Yamato a smirk. "Looks like Mistress Regina is summoning you, but it will have to wait until later tonight." She does add that she is giving Yamato a choice of playing field, which means either Lita's dungeon, which she mentioned he looked cute in last time, or her place. Either way the kids would be in bed by then. If they did go out she would make sure the kids would be alright.

After he answers the kids ask when they're going out for dinner. She tells everyone to get ready and they'll head out shortly. She plans on giving Yamato a playful smack on the butt as she passes by but instead just gives him a light tap.

Though the thought had hardly crossed his mind yet, Yamato knew better than to expect Lita to move to Japan and bring the kids just to be closer to him. He could only imagine how inconvenient that would be for them, and besides, it was far too soon for a move like that anyway. Most couples date for quite a while before moving in and living with each other. Hell, the only reason Yamato was staying in Lita’s house now was because of the stipulation from their match. So he makes it clear he doesn’t expect Lita to do anything that would put a burden on her or her family, including moving to Japan. And though he doesn’t have a lot of money, he promises to try to visit as often as possible, and to call or skype when he can.

When he hears about Daisuke’s message, Yamato gives a slight chuckle and faintly blushes for a moment. A part of him feels a bit awkward about the thought of having sex with someone other than his girlfriend, even though Lita would be involved with it too. But while he’s her prisoner, he has to do what she says regardless - though of course this would hardly be anything to complain about. But the location choice is up to him, so he thinks about it for a moment before picking the dungeon.

Soon everyone was getting ready to go out for dinner. And, feeling the light tap on his butt as he passed by Lita, he chuckled while glancing back at her, then gave her a quick wink. Once everyone was ready, Yamato got in the car with the rest of them, curious to find out where they’d be eating tonight.

It was good that the two had an understanding of what was going on with the other and she had a feeling they would be able to figure out everything when timing was right. Alex and AJ were young but knew what was going on with Lita and Yamato, or at least the part of them going out and them living away from each other. After all their father and Lita lived a part, but weren’t together. They still are very close to each other as far as relationships go but it did feel difference since they knew Yamato would be going back to the other side of the world. They weren’t sure how to handle it, or what to think about it, though Lita suggested that they try not to think about it for now.

Before they were able to go inside the restaurant Lita saw the coach of Alex’s baseball team. Not the one that was there together that Alex booted, but the one that they had at the start of the year. He said he heard what happened at the game today and mentions that something important came up which is why he couldn’t be there but was surprised there was a new guy there instead of just one of the assistants taking over, but thanked Yamato for stepping up and doing what he did. The guy told Yamato he’s welcome to come and help out some more if he wants. When Alex heard that he looked a little bit sad for he knew what Yamato’s answer would be since he is heading home soon, but tries not to make eye contact with the coach, since he wouldn’t want to give off a negative impression. Yamato may have heard that the guy who usually coaches the team isn’t a bad guy and was nothing like the guy who was there today.

After introducing himself to the coach, Yamato listened to what he had to say. He was glad to know whoever the asshole who’d been coaching the team before Yamato stepped in wasn’t typically around to do the kinds of things he’d done today. When the coach offered his thanks, Yamato assured him it was nothing and that he was just glad he could help out. When asked about helping out with the team some more, he explains that he won’t be in town for much longer, but thanks him anyway, and mentions he’d be glad to do it sometime in the future if possible.

Lita noticed Alex's reaction to what both guys said, even though she knew that he knew what was going on with him. She had a feeling the next little while might be difficult. Lita had to explain to Alex's coach her and Yamato's relationship. She does not mention how they met but mentions it hasn't been for long. They are wished good luck with the relationship, in general and due to how far away they will be, but on the plus side Alex appears to be approving of him so that should be a plus.

After he leaves everyone else heads inside. While it may seem like something odd for a kid to ask at dinner, Alex does ask his mom while Yamato being away will mean for his dad and her. He knows they aren't a couple but knows things are close between them, sort of how Daisuke is as well. While he doesn't know all of what they have done he does know they do what was called 'stuff adults do when they care about each other a lot.' Lita looked a little read when she heard that. How should she put it? She had a feeling even with Yamato not being around she might have to refrain from doing that sort of thing with him all together, or if Yamato would be fine with it at least less often. Of course she knows guys have certain needs as well and wouldn't mind if back home Yamato had a 'special friend' of some kind, or if Mariko was 'one of those sisters' but after being quiet to think about it for a while she simply said "Not to worry kiddo, I ain't writing him out of our lives, that be kinda mean for both him and you." She gave a small look to Yamato as if to ask if that answer was good enough. Alex was bit unsure of Lita's wording but didn't question it. Neither did AJ but she too had a feeling things would be alright.

Yamato was completely taken off guard by Alex’s question, and didn’t know at all what to make of it immediately. He hadn’t really thought much about what sort of effect his absence would have on Lita, at least in that sense. There hadn’t previously been much reason for him to think anything here would be different once he was gone, though that was before he’d become Lita’s boyfriend.

Once he heard Lita’s answer, Yamato gave her an affirming smile and nod. “She’s right. That would be mean. But, I don’t think that’s anything you’ll have to worry about.” he said. As far as the “stuff adults do when they care about each other,” Yamato wasn’t fond of the idea of either of them doing that with anyone other than each other while they were dating. It wouldn’t be easy, but that was simply how he felt. Though that was a discussion better saved for later.

Later that night, long after dinner as well as 'other things,' Lita laid in bed and looked like she might cry a little. Tomorrow would be the last full day Yamato would be around before he heads back to Japan and it was heavily on her mind even though she was trying not to think about it.
