Sheamus plotline is great at the moment, don´t know why people bitch and moan about it. It plays 100% into the iwc mentality, a big man wants to punish the vanilla midgets. And he is the heel in the feuds, meaning he will probably lose more often than before. Or even better, he´s a dominant heel.

Thank you Lance Storm for reminding us that, much as we complain about things now, it used to be worse, and that the precious Monday Night War era was full of REALLY stupid shit.

As we all know, Lance Storm was the peak of entertainment, a draw and long time champion everywhere he went. So he is more than qualified to talk about entertaining matches, entertaining stipulations and...oh wait...

The mentioned match is not a logical gold mine, ok. I am not the biggest fan of the Monday Night wars either, and certainly don´t need blood or chairshots to the head in wrestling. But at least something ACTUALLY HAPPENED in the weekly shows. I really though the weekly shows would massively improve with PPVs for free on the network, but I don´t see it right now.

Quality went up from 2012 to now, no questions asked, but excitement? Not so much. As a negative example, I had much more interest in the Cena vs Kane feud 2012, with Kane playing with the Cena sucks chants, than I ever had in Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar. Rollins vs. Orton was my match for WM, and that was a match bordering at the midcard level.

I'd like to point out that Raw was pretty much the exact same show every week from September up till Mania.

That being said, Wrestlemania was awesome and amazing.


What people seem to want to gloss over though is that it wasn't just 1999-2001 that WCW was doing really stupid shit. WCW did stupid shit ITS ENTIRE HISTORY.

Also, just saying "Well at least SOMETHING happened" doesn't just excuse how idiotic that something was. At best that move was a stupid one night decision, at worst it was a chance a big money making storyline pissed down the drain.

WCW guys all but admitted they were doing stuff so off the cuff that they were writing and rewriting storylines and shifting segments and stuff night of. That's kinda ridiculous. The inmates were running the asylum from what seemed like the beginning.

A typical selection of matches and hapenings from Raw and Smackdown was probably like this in 2012:
*Santino vs. Alberto del Rio
*6 man tag team match, playa!
*Can Cena lift blabla on his shoulders
*Great Khali vs. Jinder Mahal
*Sin Cara vs. Alberto del Rio
*One on one with da Randy Orton, playa!
*Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto del Rio
*Sin Cara botch
*Random ladies match
*IC champ looses fast and clean against Cena or CM Punk
*Kane vs Randy Orton
*Something stupid with Rock and Cena
*"And I quote" Hornswoggle is the general manager
*Drew McIntire tries to date Kelly Kelly
*Ezekiel Jackson vs Wade Barett

Although your argument is still pretty good that Septemper Raw is basically also March Raw, quality wise, I still see an improvement.^^
