Clyde huffed at Melissa's words bitterly. She was right. And now he had to hear her go on about Sellers women and whatever other crap she was spewing. "I'll tell her Hi next time I visit Tokyo. I'll be on my own two feet, I promise you." he remarked with clear attitude before hearing her continue about... A title shot. Non-Hentai.

"I'm listenin'." He said as he turned to her with his full attention.

He did not ask why she'd be willing to give him a chance, considering there relationship and what she had just said... Perhaps he didn't care or just his brain was slow at catching up, Melissa was betting on the latter... She took that sip of the tea now and brought the saucer bowl down from her lips

"It would be for the grandest prize here in Tension.. The Tension world championship belt."

Clyde eyes raised high. The Tension Title? Melissa was giving him a shot at it?

"Fa' real?" But Clyde was cautious. "What's the catch?"

"The catch deary...?" Melissa said with a slight smirk.

"I am going to place this slice of cake in front of you and I am going to tell you quite simply that it contains poison. Then you are going to have to decide whether to eat it or not... If you do the poison will surely infect you but if you don't you will surely starve." Another couple of twirls of the tea in the bowl.

"An engineered situation Mr. Gastin, you can not win... I am simply curious to see what you will choose, I suspect it will be to starve as you foolishly believe you would somehow be defying me by doing so." It was probably all gibberish to the cowboy as he didn't know what Melissa was planning to be able to connect the analogy. She took another sip of her tea

"The title match will be set for Tension's PPV."

"Yeah babe." Clyde said dryly before Melissa talked about cake and poison and starving. Clyde raised his brow, he didn't understand her. Was she trying to say the title was cake but poisoned?

"...Why is the title even poisoned?" He asked. Catching some of the analogy. Unless the title was lead instead of gold. But why would he just reject her offer? There was no need to defy such a nice gift!

But then she dropped the time and place. Clyde frowned.

"Im a little busy that day. I have to help Johnny Higurashi and Ninjette in a tag match." He said factually. "After that I should be free."

Melissa didn't really expect Clyde to get it at first so his response was not a surprise.

"I am the GM of Tension deary... Do you think I do not know your schedule for the Tension pay per view already?" She said smoothly.

"The Tension World title belt will only be available for you to challenge for it on the Tension pay per view event."

Clyde lowered his head as he heard melissa out. He wanted his chanceto be great. To finally succeeded. He worked so hard to go from a cocky little drunken brawler to a serious wrestler. And now his chance was right here...

"I'm sorry... I can't do that to Ninjette and Higurashi... Ms. Taylor would never forgive me... I sure as heck wouldn't..." Clyde had given the guy and Taylor hell in the past and she still had been kind to him. Tough as hell at times him but, she cared. He looked to Melissa sternly.

"You taught me how it felt to be outnumbered after all."

Melissa kept the smooth smile on her face as Clyde rejected the offer, her hand reaching into her black silk kimono at the chest just below her breasts without giving the cowboy a peek. She retrieved a folded up fan, bring the tip to her lips

"How unfortunate Mr. Gastin... And to think that you campaigned so hard for what you claimed to be a serious title shot." She spread the fan gently between her fingers and fluttered carefully below her chin

"Title opportunities are such fleeting events as well. If you are telling me that you do not wish to compete for the Tension World Title of all belts... Well... needless to say it might be a very long time until you get another opportunity. *If* you get another opportunity at all."

Clyde lowered his head as Melissa mocked him. He felt for his phone, wanting so badly to ask Taylor to tell him that he COULD take the title shot. A title shot he may never have again.

"I do want it. You're the one being unfair!" He shot back suddenly.

"I wanna be champion! But askin' me 'ta abandon my friend, my friend's husband! I can't do that! You say you know my schedule? Then you know what you're doin'! You get a kick outta this no matter what I pick, huh!? " Clyde growled angrily as he was reminded of how Melissa liked to operate. She was always frustrating.

Melissa continued to fan her chin as Clyde spoke, the angered response was not unexpected, in fact she thought the penny would drop earlier for him.

"To become champion you have to make certain sacrifices Mr Gastin... If you are unwilling to do so then you would not be a successful champion.

As for me 'getting a kick out of this' as you put it. As I eluded to before, my enjoyment in life comes from ending up on top deary." She gave him a slight smile and raise her bowl slightly.
