Hi-gu Do-jo!

Alaina watched as Julia slid right past her! This was going to be a long spar....Normally that didn't bother Alaina but she had run ropes until she ran herself into the ground. She would easily be worn out by a game of cat and mouse. She would have to be smart, or at least try to keep Julia guessing.

Alaina would close in on Julia again, this time dropping down and sweeping one of her legs out to try to catch Julia in a leg sweep! If Julia wasn't expecting it, this could work out favorably for Alaina. If she was quick enough to adjust.... this had the potential to go downhill fast!

It might’ve been a bit unfair that Alaina had already been running the ropes to the point of exhaustion before being thrown into this spar. But there wasn’t anything Julia could do about that, and she wasn’t about to make things easier for the Amazon just because of that. She felt like she had more gas in the tank, so she had to make that work to her advantage.

When Alaina came in again, Julia paid close attention to her movement, and sprung right up into the air when the Amazon dropped down to execute her leg sweep. And as she made her descent, Julia attempted to send the soles of both her shoes down right on top of whatever part of Alaina’s upper body was beneath her at that point. And upon impact, she’d try to push right off of the woman’s body to send her into a somersault, rolling forward and away from her again before popping back up onto her feet and facing Alaina’s direction once again.

"Hmmm..." Taylor flicked the screen of the tablet that controlled the gym's stereo and scrolled through her many playlists. She looked up and noticed the atmosphere in the ring, and couldn't help but smile.

"Don't get too competitive today, guys. You're here to build each other up. Just keep it playful," she called back to the girls while she hit play.

She skipped back to the ring and sat down cross-legged on the apron, leaning on the middle rope to watch the trainees.

As soon as Alaina wemt for the leg sweep and didn't connect she knew she was going to pay. Julia's feet smacked her in the chest and knocked her to the ground! Alaina watched Julia roll and pop back up to her feet before Alaina was even able to get up!

She was nimble and quick... this was going to be fun.

Alaina's repitoire of moves was limited compared to her partner but she knew the worst thing she could do was stop. She had to keep up the pressure and capitalize on a mistake.... even though Julia seemed very well practiced and unlikely to make an error easy for an opponent to use against her. Going high for a grapple led to an escape, as did a sweeping kick low. Alaina ran forward, looking to lunge in, trying to wrap her arms around Julia's waist and take her down to the mat!

Julia felt her feet drive Alaina right down onto the mat, then quickly rolled away and shot right back up to her feet, ready to go once again. At the way things were going so far, the luchadora was feeling pretty confident.

But then she heard Taylor and looked over at her while she spoke, realizing she might’ve been starting to lean a bit too far to the competitive side of things just now. “Keep it playful. Got it!” she said, before turning around only for her eyes to widen in surprise as she found the amazon already charging at her! The brief distraction had drastically cut out of her reaction time, and she attempted to dive out to the side, but her leg caught against one of Alaina’s hands.

This set her off balance, and with a yelp she stumbled down onto the mat. Recognizing she was in a potentially bad position, Julia tried as quickly as possible to push herself back up to her feet and dash away from Alaina, hoping the amazon wasn’t able to prevent her from doing so.

"...And pay attention."

Taylor kicked up into a handstand and walked around a little bit.

Alaina saw Julia trip and thought she caught a break, diving at her while she was down! Alaina pounced on her while she was on one knee trying to knock Julia down onto her back, while grabbing one arm! Alaina was already tired, but figured if she could get a point in this spar it would be better than nothing.

Alaina tried her best to secure an armbar without actually wrenching very hard on Julia. "Y-you are fast... too fast!" Alaina said in a complimentary tone asshe attempted to "secure" the armbar.

Just when Julia started to pick herself back up, Alaina came crashing down on her and brought her back to the mat while grabbing onto her arm. Alaina may have been tired already by this point, but she was reminding Julia that focus was just as important as stamina, something she’d be sure to remember for future reference.

As the amazon tried to secure her armbar, Julia attempted to yank her arm out of the woman’s grasp and jump back up to her feet once again. But if Alaina managed to hold on to her, she’d instead tap once the armbar was locked in. Either way, as soon as she was free again, Julia would hop back up to her feet with a grin. “Heh, thanks. And you’re pretty persistent.”

Alaina came close to wrapping up Julia's arm, but close wasn't good enough. Alaina cursed under her breath as Julia just barely managed to escape! Alaina smiled and nodded at Julia as the speedy woman called her persistent. She had to conserve her energy as best she could. After this was over Alaina would gladly talk her ear off.

Alaina also realized that the ropes would help her establish boundaries to use against Julia. If she could drive Julia towards a corner, logically she had fewer avenues of escape. She would make another fake lunge at Julia, trying to herd her towards the corner. Sure she felt more like a sheepdog reigning in the herd, but it could lead to a good payoff barring an unexpected escape towards the center of the ring behind Alaina.

Alaina was smart to try to corner Julia and minimize the area she could use to run around. And as the amazon feinted her lunge, Julia did expect a charge and flinched, shifting aside with the corner of the ring now at her back.

However, she remained vigilant, and when Alaina did charge toward her, rather than attempt to dash either right or left, Julia instead moved directly toward her sparring partner. But at the last moment, she attempted to intertwine her legs with Alaina’s and trip the bigger woman with a drop toe hold.

If Alaina went down, Julia would then try to grab onto the amazon’s foot before dropping to her back and wrapping her legs around Alaina’s in a position slightly similar to that of the hold Taylor had briefly put Julia in moments ago. Though of course no serious pressure would be applied, hopefully just enough to make Alaina surrender the little game of cat and mouse.
